That was great. Thank you. One other thing people should be aware of, though, which might cause problems is that both photos that one is using should be shot from the same perspective, with - as far as possible - a similar lighting setup. The similarity in lighting on the new photo is particularly important, as it will avoid the problem of creating shadows in different places than on the original photo. Also, if the catch-lights in the eyes of the person in the second/new photo are in a different place to those of the person in the original photo, that will make the shot look a bit odd/'wrong' unless you have dealt with the shadows.

great tutorial! any tips on how to do this if the skin color/complexion of the two images are -vastly- different? for example, if i wanted to take an image of purple skinned Thanos and put my friend's face on it, but still make it blend and look realistic. is G'MIC capable of that? i'm not on my laptop and unable to go into GIMP and try it out right now, but i was struggling with it last night. this tutorial gives me hope, at least. i'm still very much a novice at this. thanks!

Cant understand why you didnt use the opacity option of the Scale Tool, to get the size of both faces perfect. I would especially try to align the facial features, like distance of eyes, nose, mouth.

Hi, one face is long and one is kind of round. I don't see how I can align them perfectly unless I distort one of the faces in some way.

Got the result same as yours, but once I apply the seamless blender, the image changes.
If you can send me your email ID I can send you the pictures

You selected the face, then ctrl c and then ctrl v? Don't understand why you pasted it right back on to itself.

Ctrl v creates a new layer
