Very good. Amazing song. Just to let you know that the intro and the harmonica ending heard here is not part of the song but something that the TH-camr added.

I just love that a young woman like yourself appreciates such an amazing 70's and 80's band like Deep Purple. This is the music that I listened to in my formative years. Keep up the great work Elok. Great music will live on through people like yourself!

My favorite song by Deep Purple because it is ‘light & shade’ & ‘hard & soft’. It rocks with the guitar but is equally soft with Ian’s singing with the piano during the very beautiful bridge section.

When I was in junior high, this older cool girl had this big transistor radio (it required a strap - years before boom boxes, somewhat smaller and square). It had it's own soft black leather jacket, with an array of holes where the speaker was. This song was playing, and she turned it up. I thought she was so cool. Such a wonderful, albeit random moment that you just put me in touch with. Thank you Elok!

Great to have choose this tune. All comments about instrumental performance is very grateful. This is a special song for me, learning play drums and playing along to match the stunning intro of Ian`s snare drum, and of course, the piano solo part, some of the best part of solo section. Thanks for loving Purple, as I do. Cheers!!!.

This song has so many fond memories for me it was the very first song I was introduced to Deep Purple in 1973 while I was cruising around with my dad as he turns up his radio every time this song came on. I was very surprised to see my dad loving this kind of music and later found out that Deep Purple and The Steve Miller band were his favorites.

I remember fondly a few times a year when dances were organized at the local community centre back in 1975-1976 when I was about to graduate high school. The DJ would always play several very popular tunes of the time. The ones I remember vividly are Money by Pink Floyd, Dream On by Aerosmith, Hair of the Dog by Nazareth, Wells Fargo by Babe Ruth, Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo by Rick Derringer, Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin and Woman From Tokyo by Deep Purple. Hard to believe you can have fun dancing to hard rock like that, but I'm here to tell you you can! Those were great nights!!!

I would rate this as my third favorite Deep Purple song behind Space Trucking, Knocking at Your Back Door, with Lazy and Smoke on the Water rounding up their top five. In particular I love John Lord's "honkey tonk" piano sound in the latter portions of this song. While the band might not have started playing this until the '80s, I'm pretty sure I was playing this on my Album Oriented radio show in the 70's.

Our Metal came came from bands like this and it was cool to rock a Deep Purple or a Rainbow t-shirt even if you mainly listened to Iron Maiden or Metallica. I noticed, again, you were listening to a mix and not original audio of this song.
The intro was added from a Jam session, also a lot of guitar was added in the parts were Jon Lord was doing his piano solo.
And in the end, the harmonica part, was taken from the ending of another song, called "Painted Horse" and the people who made the mix added more guitars at the end.
Sorry, I hope you can listen to the real version from 1973 álbum 'Who Do We Think We Are?'
    I think it's much better.
Anyway, is a great pleasure to see a young lady, like you, enjoying Purple Music.
    Best wishes.

I always heard this song on the radio (:. It was a very good classic infectious song (:. I think the lead singer from Deep Purple said in a rock documentary that he used to think that heavy Metal Rock music was all about it being loud (:. Then he said that when he heard his first Led Zeppelin Album is when the penny clicked for him or the switch turned on for him (:. And then he realized that Heavy Metal is not about being loud but that it was about the attitude in the music and how it was being performed (:. And of Course everything you said about DEEP PURPLE is right on point (:. And everytime I hear them they always remind me of ACDC (:. I guess because they both KICK ASS COMPLETELY PERIOD (:. But when you can react too ACDC Whole Lotta Rosie live at River Plate (:. You will lol that one too (:. And as Always You Are AWESOMENESS (:. And you Never Disappoint Ever PERIOD (:.

I love it when you break out the mighty Deep Purple on your channel! I don't know why the band doesn't like this track (Blackmore has a very low opinion of it) as Gillan's vocals are great and the main riff is killer. On "Who Do We Think We Are", the Mark 2 line-up sounds like it is running out of gas, but there are some good songs on it. "Smooth Dancer" is apparently about Gillan's frustration with Blackmore's attitude towards him, hence the references to "black suede" in the lyrics. It would be interesting to see your reaction to the reformed Mark 2 iteration in 1984, when most of the band were pushing forty (and John Lord was in his early forties). The title track from the comeback album "Perfect Strangers" is a cool number, and resembles Led Zeppelin's "Kashmir". Rock on! 🤘

VG review and vg tune as i enjoyed the live performance, even in that small box, though bigger would be better _ Is it time for "The Doors" with Jim Morrison? _ Some one pic the song with Jim as the singer _ the last song performed at the PBS live concert 1969 called Soft Parade was the best that night, imo - just not my favorite song of theirs - So the song "The End" is one of their best overall band performances, but it is not on that PBS recording . . . :>)

Sweet Hsu. "Woman From Tokyo" was one of the last 'good' songs from the mark II deep Purple catalogue. After that, singer Ian Gillan got replace by David coverdale and things didn't sound quite the same. 1974's "Burn' is regarded as great album, except, not to me. Still, I appreciate your reactions.

HI ELOK please listen to Journey / Kahoutek. I saw this band in 1973 and Neil Schon gave the best performance by far that I have ever seen. Neil played in Santana Lead Guitar at age 16 on my favorite Santana record of all time. Leaving Santana singer Greg Roley and Neil left Sanatana to form an All Star line up with Journey. The rest is History. No vocals on Kahoutek. Kahoutek was an asteroid that made a near miss on Planet Earth. For Vocals listen to Of A Life Time. I gaurantee you will LOVE IT. Zaijian

I have a suggestion for you Elok. Can you react to 'Love Is All', a Roger Glover concept track with Ronnie James Dio on vocals. Here's some info = The Butterfly Ball and the Grasshopper's Feast is a concept album originally conceived as a solo vehicle for Jon Lord to be produced by Roger Glover who had recently left Deep Purple. However, Lord proved too busy with Deep Purple, and Glover took up the reins on his own. Glover recruited a large cast of noted rock musicians, with a different vocalist for each character, including David Coverdale and Glenn Hughes. The single "Love Is All", with vocals from Ronnie James Dio, made a minor impression in the UK but reached number one in the Netherlands. It has an accompanying animated short movie.
