These episodes are amazing. I love how Daniel is a real historian and Nathaniel is so humble to learn about the instruments and history but is such an incredible player. I slow the vids down after watching and learn as much as I can from his incredible playing 👌
This was a GREAT presentation of this beautiful 1957 Gold Top Gibson Les Paul. Great demo also! I thought all 1957 Gibson Les Paul Gold Tops came with PAF pickups. Now I know better. Thank you!
Oh man, such a great looking guitar! Nathaniel really knows how to get the best sound of guitars, what a player! Makes me want to cry sometimes and just walk away from my guitars but.......naw!
Every time I watch another one of these videos, I convince myself a little more that I am going to make a pilgrimage to CME and find my dream guitar on that Les Paul Wall.
Love p90 goldtops. As a tele player its the perfect transition if you just want a bit more of everything plus a neck p90 is everything you want from a neck pup imo
There are cleaner ones out there. Maybe not the all gold variation. But there are cleaner 57s with and without P-90s out there. The P-90s are hard to come by, though. More than a few saw the business end of a router and woke up with PAFs in them.
I sweat like a hogg , so all my vintage things have discolored gold and rusty bridge with greenish dissimilar metal disease!!! Some folks pay for that relic look. So there's that ...
@@electricgypsyblues4761 well your passive aggressive behavior aside if you had the money you'd buy one but you're going to lie and say that's not true. 😐
Nothing to do with the guitar. He’s playing through a Magnatone amp, and they break up like a 50s Fender Tweed amp, with that kind of raspy fuzz sound.

Thank you! Happy last week of January, from the US! 🤘🤘
Picked up a R6 this month and it’s the best guitar I own. Fat neck with p90s. I love it.

❤️🤘🤘
Great video! I have a LP CS 68 goldtop aged, P90’s and nylon saddles on the bridge, I think it’s my best guitar.
Very nice!! 🤘🤘

Can we please find someone who can play the damn thing 😂😂😂 absolute smoke!
🙏 classic
What makes it special? Nathaniel played it
🤘🤘
The audio of the guitar is sorta crappy sounding. Add some ambient mic to avoid having that "mic too close to the speaker" dry sound.
I sweat like a hogg , so all my vintage things have discolored gold and rusty bridge with greenish dissimilar metal disease!!! Some folks pay for that relic look. So there's that ...
ive never actually own 1.. too poor 😔
Right there with you ...
Buy a reissue its the same thing. Dont buy into all that vintage garbage.

😂
Some people appreciate the collectability and historical value of vintage guitars. Personal preference 🤷
Dude talking about guitar < dude fucking ripping it up on said guitar
What is Daniels accent? I can't place it. It sounds like Irish English and American all at the same time with a Johnny Depp vibe.
I vote Irish
No no he's definitely from Taiwan don't be ridiculous
He’s a Manc ..from Manchester England .a Lancashire lad .
@@craigpimlott204 Not Nathaniel - The other guy. I'm from London I know a Manchester accent.
I can hear a Scottish/french thing! Canadian?
So how much is it?,I'm guessing only Bonamassa can afford it and he's probably already got one...
Only "house" members can play the nice instruments.
Are the 300,000 missing children your family has in Chicago ?
Clean your guitars 🎸
Bite your tongue
Huh?
Dirtier the better
I only care if the fretboard looks/feels grimy
Too busy practicing
It sounds awful distorted. Like an epiphone Special into a cheap transistor amp. (imo of course)

We love the Magnatone break up! To each their own!
@@chicagomusicexchange Me too. My favourite kind of drive sound.
I agree, that breakup is either the amp oir the way they placed the mic too close to the speaker grill. Add some ambient mic sound to make it better.
Correct. They're called P90's.
