Night Lords were my go-to for the Chaos options for Warhammer : Eternal Crusade before it shut down. And Imperial Fists for the Space Marines - because Black Templar's weren't an option.

Word Bearers don't have skinning pits mate, they have mass sacrifices or worse, go read the Word Bearer's trilogy if you don't believe me
