In this video,
I have discussed the Massage Therapy Advanced Diploma program in Canada.
This is a 2 year (6-semester) course for those who are interested in pursuing Massage therapy as their future profession.
Massage therapy is a regulated profession and hence you need to clear the license exam to become a Registered Massage therapist.
When you graduate, you'll be eligible to write the registration examinations administered by the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) to obtain the Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) designation.

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, or mature student status (19 years or older)
English Grade 12 C or U, or equivalent (minimum grade required) or take the Centennial College English Skills Assessment for Admission
Biology Grade 11 or 12, C or U, or equivalent (minimum grade required)
One additional Science (Physics, Chemistry or Exercise Science) Grade 11 or 12, C or U, or equivalent (minimum grade required)

Hey there! Just to clarify, massage Therapist are able to prescribe exercises as well as it is part of our board exams. We learn anatomy, physiology and pathology. I agree the level of knowledge is not as high as that of PTs but it is similar.

Hloo mam In ur privious video you have mentioned that u should prepare for ur PTE exam for practice in Canada...mam I just want to ask that is it compulsory to give this exam in Canada I mean this is not guaranteed that we give the test and pass it ...but If suppose we come to Canada and not pass the exam so what will do after spending soo much money ..

In Georgian College fees course is 25000 per year... Can I go with this and I also applied In Humber..but I think in Humber it is much more

Is it fine to have at least one science course completed to be qualified into this program? I've done Grade 11 Biology but haven't taken any other courses like chemistry and kinesiology

Hi there, I have done my bachelors in India and I am planning to study in Canada so I want to do diploma in massage therapy so I wanted to ask will I able to do job as a physiotherapist there, as I have done BPT already and I am doing this course so that I can add therapeutic massage techniques in my treatment protocol along with exercise and other techniques for faster results...waiting for your reply🙏🏻

Once you clear your PCE you can work as PT in canada. Yes massage therapist license also give you another skill set in your career.

What is the name of the exam after completion of course
Hi EMI, it’s called Certification examinations. It’s offered by the CMTO.
Every single province (states) has its own rules concerning Massage therapy. it goes from 415hours to 3000hours. very different from a place to another. so there is no such diploma as MTAD in canada. Here you present the case of Ontario... which is unique, and might not be valid in other 9 provinces.

@@ishan..276 great questions! The job market is great after school. I was able to start working the day after I passed my licensing exams. Even with the pandemic there is lots of job opportunities as RMT’s are healthcare providers in some provinces (like Ontario) so they haven’t been affected by the last few lockdowns.
License exams are challenging, but not impossible. There is a multiple choice component and a practical component as well. I highly recommend centennial college as it prepares you very well for the exams. Cost of exams is about $2000
If you move provinces you may need to to re do your licensing exams or Te take the programs as not all provinces are regulated equally. For example, BC will require an Ontario RMT to re take the board exams. But if you go to a province that is not regulated, you won’t need to.

Hey! I am a Massage Therapist and I didn’t do Bio grade 12 since I am not from Canada. I was able to enter the program without problems since I had done other science courses that counted - physics, Chemistry, etc.
I recommend checking in directly with the school you want to attend and see what are the requirements. Depending on your educational background you may be able to get in without issues. I hope this helps!!! And best of luck on the program 😊

@@MDKHAN-od1hk I was an international student when I atended school, so the fee was about $13000 a $14000 per school year. My program was 3 years long. Domestic students pay much less.

@@User_1110q good question! Semesters here are around 4 months. You can cover 3 terms in a year assuming you don’t take summer vacations in between terms.
