Love how the Tomcats had to be saved by the Phantoms. Absolutely beautiful video with a perfect soundtrack to go with it. The extended version of the Top Gun Anthem is marvelous, isn't it? It gives the synth the room they need to show how beautifully composed it was, and honestly it goes so well with the Tomcat.
Imagine if Maverick was saved by those, He and Iceman would be glad to have a Backup, I would imagine Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill piloting the Phantoms callsigns Skywalker and Solo
Absolutely amazing video as always! Congrats on 1k I know I’m late, and I’m very happy about the F-14 being added but I’t will take my a while to get it!
lowkey always disliked how the anthem cuts to danger zone in the movie, not that danger zone is a bad song, it’s great, just don’t like how it cuts. i’m also aware it’s to kinda show maverick and him thinking he’s hot shit but still
Its the best Video with the Grumman F14 A Tomcat in War Thunder I've ever seen ❤ Can someone please tell me which Map this is and how to spawn in this parking position?
In true World: F-14 vs Mig23 score 2:0 for Tomcats, in Ignored Advice Production Intro score: 1:1. Yes you convinced me that F-14 is extremely overrated. This is irony if you do not get it. By the way, shooting Phoenix from gun range is so stupid that is beyond imagination.
The F-14 has an internal gun too and it's a Navy plane what's with the history revision in the intro? And the reason missiles failed "was the lack of a gun" HAHAHAH I mean wtf! no, the missiles had issues back then, they had troubles hitting maneuvering targets and were mechanically unreliable and BVR was a pipe dream. Maybe write it right, why the expensive US fighters drew a draw against the cheap Vietnamese fighters. And it's not like the US Air Force just put in a gun and called it the day.
🤦♀ The Navy Phantoms never got a gun in any capacity, instead relying on missiles and superior training, the training bit being Top Gun, or the Navy Weapons School. And yes, the Air Force simply gave the gun to the Phantom and called it a day. Note that the reason BVR was unfeasible was due to Robert Mcnamara forcing stupid visual ID ROE upon all pilots before engaging the enemy target. Even with these restrictions, American pilots managed to beat the cheap Vietnamese fighters in close in engagements and most kills were scored with your "mechanically unreliable" missiles. The F-8 Crusader, so called "last gunfighter" only scored 3 out of it's 19 kills with the guns, the rest with the Sidewinder. On May 10, 1972 Lt. Randy “Duke” Cunningham and Radar Intercept Officer (RIO) Willie Driscoll scored 3 kills, and they only fired 3 Aim-9G missiles. Most missiles during the Vietnam war were fired incorrectly due to incorrect training. www.historynet.com/great-kill-ratio-debate/ www.historynet.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/MiGscorecard.jpg combatace.com/forums/topic/91818-the-f-4-phantom-and-the-gun-part-1/ combatace.com/forums/topic/91882-the-f-4-phantom-and-the-gun-part-2/ Maybe you should learn your history.
