Questions Answered: 1. Where are all the people? Young people leave these small cities in search of work in larger cities. In daytime people are at work. People don't have much disposable income so don't just go out needlessly window shopping like in the West for example. Many Belarusian people have emigrated abroad too. There is a shorter life expectancy and also there was a war not long ago that killed 25% of the population. Bobruisk had it's Jewish population wiped out rapidly. 2. The people there look so miserable there! Are they? No. Belarusian people are friendly but not for no reason. By that I mean if they don't know you they can come across as harsh and unsmiling on the street but once they know you and see you are a normal dude they are completely different and warm up and become very very hospitable and warm.See the two girls in my Indian food video. They are typical Belarusian girls. Fun and friendly. I would not travel in a region if the people were not decent and welcoming. They also don't like strangers walking up and filming them ( understandably ) so it is hard to film interactions and capture their warmth on film. When the camera is off I meet epic people who like to party, tell jokes, have a laugh. 3. It looks so depressing! Is it? Not to me. I love the region and the people. I never feel depressed here. The weather is shit in the winter for sure. Summer is different entirely. 30c every day, blue skies, girls in short skirts. Now people are just going from home to work and trying to avoid the cold so it looks somewhat grim. In summer I will show you how it really is. 4. It is a dictatorship! How can you film there?! I am not an election observer so don't know how free elections are but Belarus is not North Korea!! KGB do not follow you. There are clubs and casinos, people talk openly. People travel abroad freely. Internet is not restricted. People here do whatever they want just like in most other places. It's a normal place but they respect their Soviet past. Great sacrifices were made by men, women and children to defend this land and they don't want to sell it to some smooth talking foreign banker in pin striped suit. As a Russian myself I eat pink sausage and black bread quite often!! The sausage is called sardelka and the black bread is simply rye bread. Greetings from the US. Love your channel!!!
You wrong about pink sausage. Its not "Sardelka", it calls "sosiska"(сосиска). Difference between them is little pieces of fat inside "sardelka" and it more juicy and bigger. The "Sosiska" does not have any piece of fat, it just tube of meatmash.
Thats sosiska for sure. Sardelka is much larger but shorter and mostly browny and its covered by tiny pellicle made of pig bowel which could sounds strange/disgusting for someone but actually pretty tasty and natural.
Lmao, true! "извинитесь" is a reflexive and/or imperative form of a verb "извините". "извините" means "(you) excuse me", whereas "извинитесь" essentially means "(you) excuse yourself" (even though it doesn't bear the same meaning as english "to excuse oneself") or, as OP already mentioned, "say you are sorry". Probably not the best way of explaining it, but I hope it'll help all those, who learn russian through mr. Bald's videos. Будьте здоровы!

13:11 "Извинитесь"
I think you meant "извините"
"сь" is a return suffix meaning what you said to them wasn't "excuse me" but "you should apologise"
lol... what a sound/letter can do..
Yeqh, I noticed that too. Lol
I actually laughed when I've heard it. Surely you cant get a worse misspelling in that situating. xd
Same mistake in Bulgarian: извинeте се

Mr Bald you should come to the Balkan, all the Croatian sun tanned booties, Slovenian Alps and wines, Serbias čevapčiči and rakija. You would absolutely love it.
That's right my friend. Croatia is absolutley breathtaking. The women 👌

Indeed you are a Britt at heart. A traveler, not a tourist , breaking bread with strangers , taking risks , going the least traveled path. I salute you chap.
Antonio Costa Well that’s a Victorian thing isn’t it? When I meet brits in Europe on vacation they’re all wearing sweatpants, they’re scowling at people and they treat their all-you-can-eat buffet staff as absolute dirt. Not much traveler about that behavior.. it would seem to me that such values as being polite is completely lost to these people. Maybe they just really hate being where they’re at and that’s why they behave poorly..
Britsies should stick to their paedophile driven "island" and stop polutting publlic spaces with their inbreeding

I did my two years in the soviet army many years ago in those places. seems like nothing changed.
As a Russian myself I eat pink sausage and black bread quite often!! The sausage is called sardelka and the black bread is simply rye bread. Greetings from the US. Love your channel!!!
I like that the sausages match the floral painting.
You wrong about pink sausage. Its not "Sardelka", it calls "sosiska"(сосиска). Difference between them is little pieces of fat inside "sardelka" and it more juicy and bigger. The "Sosiska" does not have any piece of fat, it just tube of meatmash.
Денис Не actually it's more sordelka than sosiska there:) I would stay away from such thing.
Thats sosiska for sure. Sardelka is much larger but shorter and mostly browny and its covered by tiny pellicle made of pig bowel which could sounds strange/disgusting for someone but actually pretty tasty and natural.
its just ham sausage
13:13 mr Bald said "извинитесь", instead of "извините" which actually means "say you are sorry" not "i am sorry" LOL
APOLOGIZE TO THE ENGLISHMAN! xD
Maybe he meant to say that haha
хороший информация. Спасибо!

We've been to Kiev, Chernobyl/Pripyat, and multiple cities in Russia. One thing I noticed, and your videos seem to show just how universal it is, is the huge amount of open space in cities.
