I didn’t use the same battery featured in this video, but I found the procedure demonstration to be incredibly helpful. It made changing out the battery so easy. Thank you.

@@malazan6004 I'd say roughly 70%better for a good session I was getting about 8-9 hours out of my PS5 controller on my pc without rumble features turned on even tho people say 12 to 15 hours. With this battery I get roughly 17 hours, still not the best but at least I don't have to worry so much about the controller dying on me mid game

Germany the package goes into envelope i have 2 already these things are extremely high quality i can get double hours if not 2.5 times using mine for months just installing my new one now
I've just fitted this to mine but found the plastic tool isn't the strongest on the tip, so had to use a small flat head screwdriver to pry the black plastic trim from the bottom of the controller. Apart from that everything went smoothly and this video helped a lot. So thanks for that 🙂 hopefully i won't have to worry about charging my controller every time I've finished using it lol

Yes, this little spudger is frequently debated. ;-)) Obviously, our highest concern is that none of our customers damage their controller when slipping with a too tough tool. Also, the tip needs to be very thin in order to fit between the two shells. So any more sturdy tool would be a risk. - We are sorry if, in some cases, the spudger isn't strong enough to pry open your controller halves. Still, we think "better safe than sorry" here. The battery for the regular Dualsense is physically larger and doesn't fit. Also, that even smaller size of the Edge's battery leaves less room for improvements, so it'll be hard to come up with a battery offering more capacity. I just bought it and replace. Standard battery last for 1,5h after three years. I will make test and let you know how long I can play on it with medium settings
Hi Hajrudin... We haven't seen one ourselves so far, but it seems as if Sony hasn't changed the battery. Our battery will fit into any controller where Sony (or any modder) uses the original battery. @@_beg Hi there... Yes, the Edge is available since last week and Sony actually made the battery EVEN SMALLER! Sony recommends to use the controller only with a cable. - But who would want that?? And even despite the new cable lock around the socket one thing is crystal clear: The next 'pandemic' of errors will be the broken USB sockets on the Edge's mainboard. Unfortunately, the new, smaller battery leaves a lot less room so that even our enhanced cells can't get to the capacity we'd all like to have. We'll need to wait for more feedback from the first real Edgies around. Then we might be able to make a decision if it makes sense to provide new batteries for the Edge as well. I would love to change the battery but I would be constantly worried - what if the battery explodes in my hands or during charging. I know probably Sony battery is the cheapest piece of junk they could put in so it's probably even more dangerous but it's some weird thing in my head that I would be worried *what if*. Second question - can you charge this battery on the charging dock where you charge your controller from the bottom not by USB cable on the top?
Hi Dawid, thanks for your question and honesty. Don't worry, you are not alone. Many customers have doubts when they exchange components in their controllers (or other equipment). We wouldn't even say that Sony is using "junk" in their devices - but from an engineering standpoint, we are assuming that many of their decisions are driven by price rather than safety or usability. Of course, any manufacturer will tell you 'Our stuff is great, our stuff is safe' - but will that help with your doubts? Maybe it gives you a better feeling to know that we here at PAXO are a small company with our engineering and support team located in Berlin, Germany. Our support is easily available by email or even phone and, as a small company, we have a much higher risk if our parts don't perform well. So we really try to make sure that they are safe. Apart from this, we always have hundreds of batteries in our own store - and we actually work here ourselves. I think THAT'S a reason, isn't it? Please make available to the US. To answer your question - yes, buying from a European store is fine as long as they ship here in a reasonable manner. I'd buy three or four if they were actually available.
Dear Alex, If you are outside the European Union, then you can try to switch your Amazon marketplace and purchase from amazon.de. To do this, click on the flag right of the Amazon search bar at the top of your Amazon. At the very bottom of the popup that appears you should find an option to switch to a different country. I wonder if the Duelsense Edge has the same size battery in it. Since it’s reported that it might have worse battery life than the normal duelsense. That could either be the case of higher usage on the same battery or they had to shrink the battery to fit all new components. Either way my original battery (16 month old) already last 6-10h depending on the game but the stick drift problem is way worse than a short battery life. And that is the main reason why I want the Edge, getting a better battery is always possible later.
Hi Ri... as far as we can currently tell, SONY has made no changes to the battery. There are many discussions concerning this and why the h*** SONY made 'advancements' that drain the battery even quicker without even trying to compensate for this. 'Drift' of potentiometers and other lectronic components is a common problem not only with controllers. This can actually be compensated electronically by a continuous self-calibrating process. I wonder why SONY decided to make the sticks exchangeable instead of simply compensating for the drift electronically? - Another terriffic subject for discussion. Happy gaming from Germany! @@paxo_en Certainly because it makes more money. I mean if I had the confidence to smolder a new stick modul on the mainboard I would certainly do it since you get 4 of those for like 15€. I believe one such modul is 15€ which means they at least make 4 times the money on those parts. Of course there are other costs as well but it certainly more profitable then making a permanent solution. And it makes warranty claims easier to handle since they then can only send you on modul instead of a whole controller.
It's been confirmed now via tear downs that the DualSense Edge has a physically smaller battery. Capacity is down from about 1500mah to 1050mah. Given that's a chunky reduction in capacity, it seems that actual battery drain is the same, or possibly even slightly better, than the standard DualSense. But that doesn't mean more empty space in the controller. It seems designing around the features like modular analogue sticks just meant there was less space available for the battery, without making the controller itself physically larger. Sadly, that means PAXO will need to make a new battery just for the Edge, probably in the 1500/1750mah range which could well be difficult to justify on the basis of it being such a niche product.

They actually recommend to use the Edge only with a cable. - But who would want that? And we can already foresee the next big problem: The USB sockets on the mainboard of the controller will soon be causing loads of issues, even despite the new plastic locking mechanism around the connector. Let's wait for more feedback from actual users. But BrySkye was already right: Less room for the battery leaves less room for improvements as well. I've seen a few comments about how our US regulations are a shame and I'd like to comment on that. I've had three controllers now, two with potentiometer issues, and now one with a battery issue. It's amazing how we become smarter, progress technologically but somehow our gadgets are declining, sounds like a scam to me. When someone pays $600 for a product, they shouldn't have to worry about cheaply made potentiometers or batteries... Nonetheless, thank you for this video. I was able to grab a new battery off Amazon and replace it fairly quickly.
Does anyone have any review or comments about the longevity of these battery upgrades? Only concerned about these 3rd party battery and their safety/some kind of safety approval or certificate

The two plastic pry bars I received were awful and wouldn't get Inbetween the plastic had to use the one in my ifixit kit but so far the battery seems better than the ones I had in the controller

Unfortunately it is very difficult to find a type that really ALWAYS works. Since we've previously had complaints about the metal ones slipping and scratching the surface we are using plastic ones for the battery sets now. They mostly work well, but every now and then there seems to be a controller that's either stuck together very tighly or where it is impossible to get the tip of the tool inbetween the two halves. - We are sorry about this. Hi Peter, thanks for your question. Those white clasps are used to help with opening your controller case and keep it open on one side while you're working on the other. If your controller has been opened several times before or if you are skilled in such tasks you might not need them at all. We include them in our sets to make it easier for novices and also to avoid damage to your controller's housing as this can be tricky to open without the clasps. Dear R. Thank you for your comment. Unfortunately, SONY has actually made the battery in the Edge controller physically smaller even than that in the regular Dual Sense. That leaves very little room for improvements. Taking into account the casing etc. it will be hard to reach 2,000 mAh - let along more than that. (And this is already calculated with the advanced battery technology we are using for our other batteries.) We like to be honest with our customers. And we don't like to rip you off. Thinking of the low volume sales to be expected (comparatively few people own an Edge controller), such a battery would need to be more expensive still. Hi James, thanks for your comment. We had those manufactured for a different project and they came across as helpful when disassembling the controller, too. They are included with our sets, but if you need something similar, maybe a toothpick or a paper clip might do the trick as well. Nice walkthrough, and if you can't find that tool you can also do it with a thick guitar or bass pick, the only part I don't agree with is the way you unplugged the battery from it's base, DO NOT PULL IT OFF THAT WAY!! better use a small plier with narrow edges otherwise you might ripp off the wires. Will it be possible to import those items from abroad since I live in the US? By the way, is your replacement battery size the same as the one found in Sony PS5 controller? I ask this question because some of the replacements sold in the US are a bit smaller, and people complain that they rattle inside the PS5 controller. I'd love to order at least the battery. (At PAXO we know how much effort it was to push the capacity up over the 2.600 mAh level. We are currently evaluating the options, but our take, at the moment, is that the little bit more capacity we might be able to fit into that smaller space will not justify the significant cost for such a battery. - We want to provide our customers with parts that are worth the money, and that will be very difficult with the Edge controller. @@paxo_en Hey I appreciate the concern you're showing, although it is the battery that was broken. When I replaced the shell and buttons to transparant ones, I had to take it apart a few more times because of other issues (misplacing cogwheel in trigger mechanism and the plastic membrane was folded so the left arrow button didn't work, those are fixed now). I'm still a beginner and it showed. When everything else was fixed I made the mistake of grabbing the battery connector with tweezers and touched the black and red wires to put pressure to plug it in. It sparked and battery didn't work anymore. It would give 2 short orange blinks but no indication of it charging (long breathing orange lights). Hence I figured the battery was broken. Not just that, your battery arrived today and it works like a treat! Thank you.
+everything on the motherboard seems fine at first glance, a friend of mine who studied electro technica said he didn't see fuses exploded or other damages that the shortcircuit may have caused
Hey guys I've just discovered your channel and already subscribed ! I'm planning to buy one of your battery for a ps5 dual sense. I'm just wondering if you have project for extending a dualsense edge battery? I'm not talking about 2500mah A simple 2k mah would be great! As I deactivate all the vibration and led and mic on my controller I usually get 7 to 10hour of battery life... A bigger battery for the edge would be fire!

(Alright, many companies don't, but that is risky and simply illegal.) But if we only sell _TO_ the USA, then this would not be necessary. How long can these batteries be stored with degrading? I've still got 6 months warranty on my controllers so don't want to open them up until they're out of warranty. Would it be safe to get ones of these batteries now but not install it for 6 or 7 months or would it be best to wait until I'm actually going to use them?
Hi Dazza... The lifetime should not be an issue. But if you worry about warranty, then you should wait with your purchase because if you buy it but don't use it, your warranty on the battery would be ticking already while you're waiting for your controller's warranty to run out. - That wouldn't make sense, would it? PAXO usually is very generous with help/exchanges, but let's be honest: Batteries (no matter how good they are) will always degrade with usage - and we won't be able to tell how much/long you have used the battery. I myself (but this is my personal opinion) would be more interested in the longer gaming time I'll get with the new battery. Getting a warranty exchange from Sony will be mighty much harder than when dealing with us. :-)) Cheers from PAXO!

I was talking about voiding the warranty by opening the controller up to put the new battery in and then something not related to the battery failing in the next 6 months. Dear Andrew, The capacity of Sony's original battery is 1,560 mAh. Our high-capacity PAXO battery has a capacity of 2,600 mAh. - That's over 60% more capacity! The actual playing time depends heavily on the settings you are using, the games you play etc. Logically, with identical settings, our high-capacity PAXO battery should last more than 60% longer than the original. Would like to know what you guys think about those 4000mah batteries they are selling on AliExpress. In my opinion they are to good to be true. I mean they have the same size as the Paxo battery but with 4000mah. I think they are fooling people and are selling 2000mah batteries as 4000.
Dear Rock Rocks, our apologies for answering only now. Your assumption has been absolutely correct. We have tested and measured these batteries and they are, indeed, a fake with just a little over 2,000mAh. So are the others with >3,000mAh out there. Kind'a sad, what some vendors do. And when customers return the parts to Amazon, they're simply dumped because the vendor is located in China and doesn't get the parts returned to them because that's costly. Expected playtime on these batteries? My duelsense is starting to get bad. It lasts about 4 to 5 hours when it use to last twice as long. Also do you sell batteries without tools? I already got loads of tools so don't wanna buy more.
Hi CnPx, The actual playtime depends a lot on your settings but our battery will last significantly longer than the original. Thank you for wanting to buy without tools. Yes, in the end most of them get discarded and it would be perfect if there was a good way to avoid unnecessary parts. Unfortunately, many customers do not already have adequate tools. The risk of frustration or even damage using wrong tools is high, so we rather include the tools. Hi Alexander, Currently we only sell through Amazon on their European market places. You can change the Amazon market place you are shopping on in the dropdown menu underneath the flag icon right of the search field. HOVER your mouse over the flag and at the bottom of the popup you should see "You are shopping on..." and there should be an option to switch your country. That's why our batteries are tested twice: Once directly after production and a second time in Germany before they are sold. So we make very sure to deliver only good batteries. All batteries deteriorate over time. They seldom really 'break' during their designated lifetime. Our experience shows that, in most cases, the charging controller in the DualSense/DualShock is the culprit. Yet you dont have them in the US.. big lose.. because this would be a major sale in one of the biggest markets for the ps5. I also understand that the United States sucks when it comes to Law's regulation and imports(Trust me we hate our Politics to) I hope you all do find a way to bring it to the US without having to ungodly exaggerate the price to account for import Duty shipping and profits.

@@malazan6004 I'd say roughly 70%better for a good session I was getting about 8-9 hours out of my PS5 controller on my pc without rumble features turned on even tho people say 12 to 15 hours. With this battery I get roughly 17 hours, still not the best but at least I don't have to worry so much about the controller dying on me mid game

I've just fitted this to mine but found the plastic tool isn't the strongest on the tip, so had to use a small flat head screwdriver to pry the black plastic trim from the bottom of the controller. Apart from that everything went smoothly and this video helped a lot. So thanks for that 🙂 hopefully i won't have to worry about charging my controller every time I've finished using it lol

Yes, this little spudger is frequently debated. ;-)) Obviously, our highest concern is that none of our customers damage their controller when slipping with a too tough tool. Also, the tip needs to be very thin in order to fit between the two shells. So any more sturdy tool would be a risk. - We are sorry if, in some cases, the spudger isn't strong enough to pry open your controller halves. Still, we think "better safe than sorry" here.

The battery for the regular Dualsense is physically larger and doesn't fit. Also, that even smaller size of the Edge's battery leaves less room for improvements, so it'll be hard to come up with a battery offering more capacity. Sony actually recommends to use their fancy controller with a cable. - No need to argue that this deserves a decent swear word or two. ;-))

Hi Hajrudin... We haven't seen one ourselves so far, but it seems as if Sony hasn't changed the battery. Our battery will fit into any controller where Sony (or any modder) uses the original battery.
If you get a hold of an Edge, why don't you open it and see for yourself which battery is inside. - Then please let us know too.

@@_beg Hi there... Yes, the Edge is available since last week and Sony actually made the battery EVEN SMALLER! Sony recommends to use the controller only with a cable. - But who would want that?? And even despite the new cable lock around the socket one thing is crystal clear: The next 'pandemic' of errors will be the broken USB sockets on the Edge's mainboard.
Unfortunately, the new, smaller battery leaves a lot less room so that even our enhanced cells can't get to the capacity we'd all like to have.
We'll need to wait for more feedback from the first real Edgies around. Then we might be able to make a decision if it makes sense to provide new batteries for the Edge as well.

I would love to change the battery but I would be constantly worried - what if the battery explodes in my hands or during charging. I know probably Sony battery is the cheapest piece of junk they could put in so it's probably even more dangerous but it's some weird thing in my head that I would be worried *what if*.
Second question - can you charge this battery on the charging dock where you charge your controller from the bottom not by USB cable on the top?
Hi Dawid, thanks for your question and honesty. Don't worry, you are not alone. Many customers have doubts when they exchange components in their controllers (or other equipment). We wouldn't even say that Sony is using "junk" in their devices - but from an engineering standpoint, we are assuming that many of their decisions are driven by price rather than safety or usability.
Of course, any manufacturer will tell you 'Our stuff is great, our stuff is safe' - but will that help with your doubts?
Maybe it gives you a better feeling to know that we here at PAXO are a small company with our engineering and support team located in Berlin, Germany. Our support is easily available by email or even phone and, as a small company, we have a much higher risk if our parts don't perform well. So we really try to make sure that they are safe. Apart from this, we always have hundreds of batteries in our own store - and we actually work here ourselves. I think THAT'S a reason, isn't it?

To do this, click on the flag right of the Amazon search bar at the top of your Amazon. At the very bottom of the popup that appears you should find an option to switch to a different country.

I wonder if the Duelsense Edge has the same size battery in it. Since it’s reported that it might have worse battery life than the normal duelsense.
That could either be the case of higher usage on the same battery or they had to shrink the battery to fit all new components.
Either way my original battery (16 month old) already last 6-10h depending on the game but the stick drift problem is way worse than a short battery life.
And that is the main reason why I want the Edge, getting a better battery is always possible later.
Hi Ri... as far as we can currently tell, SONY has made no changes to the battery. There are many discussions concerning this and why the h*** SONY made 'advancements' that drain the battery even quicker without even trying to compensate for this.
'Drift' of potentiometers and other lectronic components is a common problem not only with controllers. This can actually be compensated electronically by a continuous self-calibrating process. I wonder why SONY decided to make the sticks exchangeable instead of simply compensating for the drift electronically? - Another terriffic subject for discussion.

I mean if I had the confidence to smolder a new stick modul on the mainboard I would certainly do it since you get 4 of those for like 15€.
I believe one such modul is 15€ which means they at least make 4 times the money on those parts.
Of course there are other costs as well but it certainly more profitable then making a permanent solution.
And it makes warranty claims easier to handle since they then can only send you on modul instead of a whole controller.
It's been confirmed now via tear downs that the DualSense Edge has a physically smaller battery. Capacity is down from about 1500mah to 1050mah. Given that's a chunky reduction in capacity, it seems that actual battery drain is the same, or possibly even slightly better, than the standard DualSense.
But that doesn't mean more empty space in the controller. It seems designing around the features like modular analogue sticks just meant there was less space available for the battery, without making the controller itself physically larger.
Sadly, that means PAXO will need to make a new battery just for the Edge, probably in the 1500/1750mah range which could well be difficult to justify on the basis of it being such a niche product.

Let's wait for more feedback from actual users. But BrySkye was already right: Less room for the battery leaves less room for improvements as well. Getting battery size well above 1.500 mAh will hardly be possible. - And will that be worth the effort?

I've seen a few comments about how our US regulations are a shame and I'd like to comment on that. I've had three controllers now, two with potentiometer issues, and now one with a battery issue. It's amazing how we become smarter, progress technologically but somehow our gadgets are declining, sounds like a scam to me.
When someone pays $600 for a product, they shouldn't have to worry about cheaply made potentiometers or batteries...
Nonetheless, thank you for this video. I was able to grab a new battery off Amazon and replace it fairly quickly.

Dear Alpha, thank you for your question. You are addressing an important topic. LUGIUM works closely with the actual manufacturer of the batteries. We have spent a great deal of time and expertise to both find a manufacturer that is able to deliver the quality we expect and that is willing to produce lithium cells according to our requirements. This is the basis that we can offer batteries with more capacity than the ones sold by Sony without compromising in lifetime and safety. Apart from that, there is a list of standards that our batteries comply to, the most important one being EN-62133-2 2017.

The two plastic pry bars I received were awful and wouldn't get Inbetween the plastic had to use the one in my ifixit kit but so far the battery seems better than the ones I had in the controller
Dear Alive, thank you for the compliment on the battery. - And we'd like to apologize for the trouble with the tools. We have tested something like 20 different types before chosing this one. Unfortunately it is very difficult to find a type that really ALWAYS works. Since we've previously had complaints about the metal ones slipping and scratching the surface we are using plastic ones for the battery sets now. They mostly work well, but every now and then there seems to be a controller that's either stuck together very tighly or where it is impossible to get the tip of the tool inbetween the two halves. - We are sorry about this.

So... what are the white clasps for?
Hi Peter, thanks for your question. Those white clasps are used to help with opening your controller case and keep it open on one side while you're working on the other. If your controller has been opened several times before or if you are skilled in such tasks you might not need them at all. We include them in our sets to make it easier for novices and also to avoid damage to your controller's housing as this can be tricky to open without the clasps.

Dear R. Thank you for your comment. Unfortunately, SONY has actually made the battery in the Edge controller physically smaller even than that in the regular Dual Sense. That leaves very little room for improvements. Taking into account the casing etc. it will be hard to reach 2,000 mAh - let along more than that. (And this is already calculated with the advanced battery technology we are using for our other batteries.)
We like to be honest with our customers. And we don't like to rip you off. Thinking of the low volume sales to be expected (comparatively few people own an Edge controller), such a battery would need to be more expensive still. So you'd get much less for an even higher price. - That's simply not our style.

What size screwdriver did you use please? The two screwdrivers I have are too small to unscrew the screws.
Hi Corey, the screwdrivers in our set are "similar to PH00". During our sourcing process we have seen that, with these small sizes, the models of different manufacturers deviate quite substantially sometimes. Best of luck! Your PAXO team.
What tool set can you get those 'small white clamps' from?
Hi James, thanks for your comment. We had those manufactured for a different project and they came across as helpful when disassembling the controller, too. They are included with our sets, but if you need something similar, maybe a toothpick or a paper clip might do the trick as well. Nice walkthrough, and if you can't find that tool you can also do it with a thick guitar or bass pick, the only part I don't agree with is the way you unplugged the battery from it's base, DO NOT PULL IT OFF THAT WAY!! better use a small plier with narrow edges otherwise you might ripp off the wires. Dear Mr. DD, thank you for your comment. Yes, of course, the dimensions of the battery are exactly the same. You should also be able to import it to the US, however, I believe that Amazon does not ship to the US from Europe anymore.
Recently we heard from users that used www.reship.com and bought from the UK Amazon platform, then shipped to the US. You might want to check this out, although I assume that additional costs might be involved.

Obviously, there are dozens of settings in your controller and so many different games - and they all influence battery drainage.
But we can provide one simple answer: With the same settings and the same game, the PAXO battery will last pretty much 66% longer than the original Sony one.

Dear Naif, thanks for asking this. The answer is NO. We have tested battery versions that claim to have 4.000 mAh - and they are a clear fake. Your research is correct. (At PAXO we know how much effort it was to push the capacity up over the 2.600 mAh level. Only highly specialized cell manufacturers are able to produce such batteries and a lot of engineering went into the project when we started it.)

We are currently evaluating the options, but our take, at the moment, is that the little bit more capacity we might be able to fit into that smaller space will not justify the significant cost for such a battery. - We want to provide our customers with parts that are worth the money, and that will be very difficult with the Edge controller.

Is it safe to remove the wrapping on the battery? Asking this because I have a transparant controller shell
Hi DJ, thanks for your comment. We would definitely not advise to remove the plastic. You'd end up with a bunch of separate cells and strange wiring that won't look any better. Plus the risk you're taking. - So a big "NO, NO" from our side. :-))

Just a word of caution from us: If your original battery did not work AT ALL, then the problem will more likely be the charging circuit of the controller itself, not the battery.
If the PAXO battery works for a little while but then does not charge again, then you will probably need to replace the controller itself. (See our video description for more info.)

@@paxo_en Hey I appreciate the concern you're showing, although it is the battery that was broken.
When I replaced the shell and buttons to transparant ones, I had to take it apart a few more times because of other issues (misplacing cogwheel in trigger mechanism and the plastic membrane was folded so the left arrow button didn't work, those are fixed now). I'm still a beginner and it showed. When everything else was fixed I made the mistake of grabbing the battery connector with tweezers and touched the black and red wires to put pressure to plug it in. It sparked and battery didn't work anymore. It would give 2 short orange blinks but no indication of it charging (long breathing orange lights). Hence I figured the battery was broken.
Not just that, your battery arrived today and it works like a treat! Thank you.
+everything on the motherboard seems fine at first glance, a friend of mine who studied electro technica said he didn't see fuses exploded or other damages that the shortcircuit may have caused

As I deactivate all the vibration and led and mic on my controller I usually get 7 to 10hour of battery life...
A bigger battery for the edge would be fire!
Dear Benzaim, thank you for your comment. Currently we do not plan to offer a battery for the Edge controller. Sony has left very little room to really provide more capacity. - Even though we personally would not like to use a controller with the cable attached, for the Edge this actually seems to be the best (still not enjoyable) solution.

Thank you for your comments. We are already looking into options of selling to US customers. However, if you're not one of the BIG companies, that's not all that easy.
QUESTION:
Would you also buy from a European store if the shipping options are acceptable? (This would mean that you'd probably need to pay a small sum of import duties yourself instead of having those pre-paid by whoever would otherwise import goods.)

If we sell _IN_ the USA, then we should comply with your laws on imports and product testing, which is HUGELY expensive. (Alright, many companies don't, but that is risky and simply illegal.)
But if we only sell _TO_ the USA, then this would not be necessary. (And our European regulations on product safety etc. are also very good.)

To our knowledge, the PAXO batteries provide the largest capacity available for the PS5 Dualsense controller. There are a few newer competitors claiming that their batteries have even more capacity (>2.800 mAh), but our measurements of these batteries have shown that these claims are simple lies.

How long can these batteries be stored with degrading? I've still got 6 months warranty on my controllers so don't want to open them up until they're out of warranty. Would it be safe to get ones of these batteries now but not install it for 6 or 7 months or would it be best to wait until I'm actually going to use them?
Hi Dazza... The lifetime should not be an issue. But if you worry about warranty, then you should wait with your purchase because if you buy it but don't use it, your warranty on the battery would be ticking already while you're waiting for your controller's warranty to run out. - That wouldn't make sense, would it?
PAXO usually is very generous with help/exchanges, but let's be honest: Batteries (no matter how good they are) will always degrade with usage - and we won't be able to tell how much/long you have used the battery.
I myself (but this is my personal opinion) would be more interested in the longer gaming time I'll get with the new battery. Getting a warranty exchange from Sony will be mighty much harder than when dealing with us. :-))

@@paxo_de That may be true but a warranty replacement with you guys would just be a battery. The replacement from Sony would be the controller itself. I don't want to void my warranty on the controller by opening it up but as soon as it's out of warranty I'll be looking to put one of your batteries in it. Thanks for the prompt reply though!

If your controller ever broke just switch back to the original battery.

I was talking about voiding the warranty by opening the controller up to put the new battery in and then something not related to the battery failing in the next 6 months. At which point my warranty would be void as I'd opened the controller up.

The capacity of Sony's original battery is 1,560 mAh. Our high-capacity PAXO battery has a capacity of 2,600 mAh. - That's over 60% more capacity!
The actual playing time depends heavily on the settings you are using, the games you play etc. Logically, with identical settings, our high-capacity PAXO battery should last more than 60% longer than the original.

In my opinion they are to good to be true.
I mean they have the same size as the Paxo battery but with 4000mah.
I think they are fooling people and are selling 2000mah batteries as 4000.
Dear Rock Rocks, our apologies for answering only now. Your assumption has been absolutely correct. We have tested and measured these batteries and they are, indeed, a fake with just a little over 2,000mAh. So are the others with >3,000mAh out there.
Kind'a sad, what some vendors do. And when customers return the parts to Amazon, they're simply dumped because the vendor is located in China and doesn't get the parts returned to them because that's costly.
Hope you're still using the original battery or one from PAXO. ;-))

Expected playtime on these batteries? My duelsense is starting to get bad. It lasts about 4 to 5 hours when it use to last twice as long. Also do you sell batteries without tools? I already got loads of tools so don't wanna buy more.

The actual playtime depends a lot on your settings but our battery will last significantly longer than the original.
Thank you for wanting to buy without tools. Yes, in the end most of them get discarded and it would be perfect if there was a good way to avoid unnecessary parts. Unfortunately, many customers do not already have adequate tools. The risk of frustration or even damage using wrong tools is high, so we rather include the tools. Also unfortunately, Amazon doesn't have acceptable means to differentiate so that we can offer only a set with tools.

Currently we only sell through Amazon on their European market places.
You can change the Amazon market place you are shopping on in the dropdown menu underneath the flag icon right of the search field. HOVER your mouse over the flag and at the bottom of the popup you should see "You are shopping on..." and there should be an option to switch your country.
Since Amazon is very complex we are not sure which options you will actually have, but it is worth a try.

Screwdriver, spudger, white clasps, and four small replacement screws (in case any of the original ones drop, they are tiny, so better have some spare ones around :-))

Dear Drago, thanks for letting us know! It seems like Amazon made changes again. Currently, all EU marketplaces allow to select a delivery country outside of the EU, but Amazon switches to "Currently unavailable" if you do. (If your delivery address is within the EU, then Amazon will show "In stock".)
On amazon.co.uk they proudly boast "We deliver internationally" now. However, Amazon UK seems to have troubles of their own. (I'll spare you the full story.)

The original Sony battery has 1.560mAh capacity. Our PAXO battery offers 2.600 mAh.
So the PAXO battery is over 60% larger than the original battery.
How long the batteries last depends on the settings you use and the games you play.

Of course any electronic part can break. This includes batteries, even new ones. That's why our batteries are tested twice: Once directly after production and a second time in Germany before they are sold. So we make very sure to deliver only good batteries.
All batteries deteriorate over time. They seldom really 'break' during their designated lifetime. Our experience shows that, in most cases, the charging controller in the DualSense/DualShock is the culprit.

Yet you dont have them in the US.. big lose.. because this would be a major sale in one of the biggest markets for the ps5. I also understand that the United States sucks when it comes to Law's regulation and imports(Trust me we hate our Politics to) I hope you all do find a way to bring it to the US without having to ungodly exaggerate the price to account for import Duty shipping and profits.

It is actually not so much about the price, but rather the legislative hurdles and the demands set for products to be sold in your market. With batteries being hazardous goods these are even higher and more complex. Since we are only a small team and most of our efforts go into developing new and improving existing products, it is hard to really follow through with this, especially if replies from the US sometimes take six weeks. - We are really sorry, but all we can do is ask for your patience (and our own :-)).

Hi Iyeet, it is not about the batery being simple, it is about exporting to the US being complicated for a small company like us.
