The kladruber is the best coat in my opinion it's got the best stammina and health never gonna die in PvE very good accelration and temperament probably, the best horse in the game
The Norfolk I had was the most skittish horse I've ever had in the game, especially around gunfire. The Gypsy was superior in every way for me - predators, gunfire, alligators, you name it and he was calm and cool.
Rating the role horses is like do you value speed above all else? Roadster and Criolo. Or do you understand that Kkadruber and Breton have enough speed but are tougher? Then appearance preferences...some people prefer to paint coats, or black or white or dappled. Personally I hate the ones that look like a cow. I love the black breton and silver kladruber, both the klad coats.

I hate it that the solid color horses are the ones with low stat. For ex., all pure black horses (and I mean pure black, not brindle black, dusty black, roan black or black with white socks or a white marking on their head) have terrible stats, same with all pure white horses. I hate it.
interesting . i love my Gypsy Cob , he's skittish around snakes , throws me off when there are cats around , but i can kill 3 wolves while staying on his back and he'll run right over alligators . legendary cats a bears are a problem but fine with everything else . gunfights he's in till the end as long as i'm on his back but if i get off he's out of there ! tip for all horsemen , get the Snowy Egret talisman from Gus , 10% less stamina drain with the Nacadoches saddle and hooded stirrups means never having to pet your horse in the middle of a run unless you have to swim a LOT .
kladruber is absolutely the goat imo. it may not be the fastest, but it's got the coolest and most unique look with the convex head, it's tall but not tall and spindly like the TBs and Turks, it's got some nice musculature, and it's got amazing health and stamina stats. it rarely ever dies or even loses much health in shootouts. it's coats are super pretty, idk what you mean lmao. i have the silver klad and i made it's mane and tail white, he's so gorgeous. always my first pick tbh. second pick would be the norfolk roadster, it's got _great_ speed and stats, not huge but not a dinky little horse, and mine is one of my bravest of all my horses. and then third is the criollo, while pretty small, it's fast, agile, pretty good stats, and very pretty.
If you're on Xbox, I figure ps and PC also has something similar, but go to the rdr2 looking for party section and find a group and do that until you get to level 5+ after you unlock the medium wagon it goes fairly quickly until large wagon at 10, and from then on its super easy

My jet black standardbred never bucked me near cougars, she kept going calmly and let me do the killing with bow and arrows. She is fast and looks gorgeous too. I also bought the silvertail with the best stats. Damn. That boy is handsome and fearless like his lady breed.

My posse cleaned out a bandit camp, and I tied my Breton well away from the commotion. We thought something was attacking her, and ran back to where she was tethered, as soon as we were clear to do so. Nope, she was just screaming and bucking, and still caterwauling for whatever reason. So I retired her, and after a few months decided to try the breed again, different coat and all. Nope! She too went bonkers near gun fire. They are not meant for my stable, I guess. Now, my Kladruber?... ahh she has my heart. She does it all and more for me! She would be at the top of my list!

Late to the party... I planned on buying a Breton and am now considering a Criollo instead. I do prefer a Norfolk Roadster but I haven't purchased the Moonshine role yet. Until then my Buckskin Mustang will do just fine.
You can get 4 tricolor male norfolk roadsters and all 4 of them might have different predatory tendencies. I've tested and proven this with multiple breeds. The other relevant but unwritten stat is footspeed vs stride length. Longer legged horses like a roadster or turk have a stronger stride with a punch of acceleration but slower footspeed. Shorter legged horses like the criollo or arab or mustang have more nimble feet but shorter stride. Not really relevant to the overall quality of a horse but for certain important to your ride style and intent.
I’m actually preferring the Cob over my Breton. No movement in gunfire or predators yet. 🤷🏼♂️ liked it so much I bought her a boyfriend Cob 😂 both have been a dream. My Breton will toss me around gators. BTW the Norfolk and Turk are now extinct 😢
From what I’ve seen, it’s generally random with some exceptions. I’ve had two Turkoman, one gold and one chestnut and the gold one is much braver than the chestnut. There are some exceptions like Arabians which are generally not very brave

My blue sheen Norfolk roadster is way too skittish, on the same level as my Arabian. it's fast but with fast travel, and with the nagadoches saddle with hooded stirrups on any decent horse, it's somewhat irrelevant to keep to the Arabian or Norfolk. My lvl 20 Breton is reliable, doesn't spook easily. Might think about some of the other breeds.

The Klad is fast enough, and excellent at everything else, and it looks heroic. Highly underrated.

Norfolk doesn't have enough health. Gets shot to fuck every time I encounter the road agents. Love the look though, very pretty horse.
I'm not a die hard Arabian fan, I prefer the Turkoman, but my black Arabian is very brave and never fails to get me to point A to point B.
