    Idk what it is about your voice but I could listen to the whole commute with you chatting away. Chill yet entertaining

    It's been my experience while in my car that you can't hear even a loud bike until it is right beside you. That's too late. I do lane split occasionally on my bike but the drivers really need to see you.

      That's another difference here in AUS, is that our freeway/highway speeds are no where near as high as the US, which means drivers aren't going as fast, thus less road/engine/exhaust noise allowing them to hear riders from further away...well at least that's my thinking!

      Lights provide a crucial role when lane-splitting. That is why I use the high beams during the day for highway riding. Visibility is the name of the game.

    Great Vid mate, I have often wondered how much time I would save navigating the Monash carpark on my bike, FYI I reckon the WR would have done it in 30 mins :)

      Thanks Brad!
      Yeah, the WR would be super easy to lane filter on!

    Oh man brass balls! As a truck driver I was there in 2018 I think it was when the guy on a bike went between two trucks between domain tunnel and west gate and was killed. Is it really worth 20 minutes extra time waiting in traffic? Again as a driver I don’t think it’s the sound people hear, but because they are driving slowly they have more time to look around and see you coming in the mirror. You made it safely this time, please don’t make a habit of it, don’t want another motorcycle death on the news

    • @AusMoto
      @AusMoto  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ah man, that sucks and that's exactly my thought when I see riders blasting at 100kph+ between trucks & cars, just not worth it!

      you're comparing the wrong things here. Its not 20 minutes and youre gonna die vs 0 minutes and sitting in traffic. Its 18 minutes being cautious and filtering intelligently (with the only chance of you getting injured is someone opening the door) vs 0 minutes and sitting in traffic.

      @@AusMoto yep, outbound there at that time of day it would of been 80kmh. There’s just zero time to react and the vehicles can move soo quickly you won’t even see it coming. But even thou it’s expensive and takes a while I feel the vic graduation system with getting a licence prepares you a lot better then say nsw, where you pay a fee and suddenly your a licensed bike rider.
      I’ve seen two fatals on the Hume hwy involving bikes, yeah you can wear leathers but in the end it’s about as helpful as wrapping a parachuter in bubble wrap

      @@budget-adventure yeah, the fact that you can't filter on your L's is good as it does take a degree of skill to do it safely
