Thank you for your dedication and giving us options. I’ve been walking more and doing isometric grip hand exercises and it’s helping. I’m still a work in progress I’m reading 138/87 but in May it was 205/103…have a wonderful day.
Exercise has helped me tremendously. I walk. bike or use the elliptical machine daily. I have also recently introduced isometrics to my routine. I have been able to reduce my BP medication to 1/2 diuretic pill a day and my BP has been consistently lower than 120/80. This mornings reading was 106/76. Thanks Dr. Story!
@ 3:02 Dr. S. says "Do cardio every single day." Hmm, I've heard 5-6 days a week is good. I like to take a day or two off especially as I get older to recoup. An underrated reason to exercise is I feel so much better when I'm not exercising. Best way I can explain this if you do about 30 minutes of exercise a day your body and mind will both feel tremendously better when you're sitting on your butt reading or watching TV. Some people claim a "runner's high." I personally don't get a natural high during the exercise, I get the natural high after the exercise. But I must exercise to receive the natural high.
@@tsb7911 my point was that you can do it every day if it’s not strenuous. If your cardio is strenuous ten you’ll need to take a break. Think of this: you brush your teeth daily. You take blood pressure pills daily. Why not be mildly active daily?
I too live with chronic pain. If u just plain ol walk at your pace...you are moving your body. I artificial joints also. I have worked myself up to doing 2mi. a day just walking. Try it plz...you do it at your pace and no one else's...
I gained 80 pounds because of that reason! I used to be active, etc. PT helps some but I know I need to force myself to do more and it's not easy because of the pain.
Would you get the same effects if you split it into 3-10 minute sessions per day? For example, 10 minutes after each meal to also help with reducing blood sugar.
PLEASE could you talk about being on a beta blocker and exercise! I feel like I’m going to have a heart attack every time I exercise!!!😢 I can’t catch my breath and my heart pounds!

It also helps, to use
Celtic salt
It lowered my BP
Some of this stuff could be
Magnesium/potassium deficiency
@@kathleenking47love that salt.
Thank you for your dedication. It came at just the right time for me.

Appreciate YOU
Great information! Thanks, Dr. Story.
Glad it was helpful!
Riding my road bike every day and trying to be healthier every day. Still work to do but BP is coming down slowly.
Thank you Doc. Exercise has really helped me.
Great to hear!
I lost 40 pounds so BMI is now in normal range. Cardio five days each week. Reduced to lowest dosage of medication. Hope to be off med soon.
Lift weights for 30-40 minutes followed by 20-30min walk on treadmill at 2.5-3.0 mph been doing this for the last 3 months
How about chronic pain!? That might be a reason not to engage in cardiovascular exercise.

Still getting used to the treadmill…..just done 30 minutes , 3500 steps . Did an extra 5 minutes slightly slower .
I'm going to still take this 20 MEQ potassium for my blood pressure. I have 3 bottles
If my heartrate has to be 180 minus my age during exercising, then I think I’ll wait a few years. It’ll be easier when I’m 100 years old. 🤔
great video dr love this guy
Thank you kindly

That's a side effect of the medication when you push your heart.
What if you are disabled?
Try Celtic salt
I do cardio in the pool. It’s so much easier if you have arthritis, etc.
Some people think of all the reasons why they can't...........😢
Exercise in a wheelchair, on crutches, your disability won't stop you. 😅
