Not if your controller is 1.2 style, then keeping the joystick at a strafe angle is faster. C button strafes on 1.1 are about as fast as a normal walk in 1.2
I change controls to solitair n move in all directions with c buttons and look in all directions with analog makes it into pretty much standard fps controls but reversed move with left aim with right

We all had absolutely no idea how he was somehow running at an angle he wasn't facing but now we completely understand this mystery. Without this clarification he would certainly be doomed to be vac banned for obvious "speed-haxor'ing". Phew! You did, however, miss the obvious cheat of grenade "remote detonation" as well as the fact that you don't even start with grenades on this level (except for agent and secret agent). Keep up the good work, detective!
@@Double-X2-Points You get grenades from the guards. They will pull grenades rarely but look at 0:26, he gets the grenade from the guard. You also get grenades same way in agent and secret agent. The remote detonation.. you just hold trigger button and it will start a timer on the grenade without throwing making it explode on you if you dont release. He just held the grenade for a while before throwing, thats why it explodes so "early".
I can also say that he has certain checkpoints on where he loses his invincibility, inside the hut is the first point and down the ramp is the 2nd, every point he stands still to shoot you he loses his invincibility. However, if you dont hit him at all he can get hurt (or killed doing speedruns) from the first spot and onwards.

@@michaellam2508 No, the guard he kills at :25 starts to pull out a grenade and he kills the guard and takes the grenade. He most likely just replayed the level a million times until this scenario happened.

If you reach his life limit before the platform he dies, however, he often does not die because in most cases you are using guns, and they dont do enough damage to make him lose enough health to actually die before running to platform and he is invincible during that time, this is possible to do on Agent though with double headshots. I hit him with a grenade here, just enough to kill him on 00 Agent.
@mpent2 I aimed for two guards as far as grenade goes, the guard who runs up the slope (which was the one I got the grenade from on this run) and the guard who runs out of the hut. You could try to get a nade from the guard who is behind the slope guard but its kinda slow often unless he throws the nade at you. No certain routes though, just do the same route as I did, which is the fastest one. 39 should be quite easy if you try to copy what I did. However I recommend playing Secret Agent first.
I tried to play this mission like this but I could never get the grenade from the guard who's walking up stairs. He usually hasn't made it to the top by the time I get there and when I kill him he doesn't have a grenade on him.
yeah, it normally takes multiple headshots. i believe it was a glitch though. i sidestepped the entrance to the first bunker, shot him in the head instantly, and he died there and then. i'm annoyed that i have never replicated this glitch, if someone could then it would give a really fast run.

Grenades are rare to get on this level. It can sometimes take several hours before getting even one grenade but in average Id say you get one nade/ hour. This is why you "never" get a grenade.There is no trick to it, its just luck dependent
By bumping into the railing hard enough, you can cause Trev to stumble from the excessive vibrations, allowing for the timing of the grenade to one hit kill him.
one time I played this level on 00 agent and when i encountered Trevelyan for the first time, i shot him in the head as soon as i seen him. he was killed instantly. i have never been able to replicate this glitch, but if someone could, it might possibly give a faster time than in this video.
This stage is harder than a diamond encrusted chuck Norris took me months just seemed they never stopped coming then he would run away and I’d be killed took me ages to do it on normal mode

Trevelyan is immune to bullets during the chasing. But he is not immune to explosions. A grenade, mine, or rocket can kill him with ease.
With the 'All Guns' cheat, this also includes the Golden Gun!

You must first calm his armor down to at least "irritated" before grenades can outright kill him.

You have to take a grenade from a guard and they rarely pull nades. About once per hour.
Is there a trick to increase the likelihood that the guard running up the slope will have the grenade because he never has it when I get to him?

No Turbo was used here. The DLTK (007 highest settings) WR is 0:55 if you're interested, just search for it. Not done by me though.

A guard at the beginning of the level pulls out a grenade (just before Bond takes the first ramp downwards).
Just as with lunchboxes, you must remember to pack your grenade in order to have it with you.
