This video was the first time I was introduced to Ken Block and since then I’ve followed his journey. I cannot believe he’s gone. I’m grieving this loss.
had to come back here and revisit the very first video that sparked the popularity of such an eye-capturing style of driving. even before your passing, you were still always one-upping yourself with crazier stunts that simply seem impossible, thanks for all you've done Ken. certainly your light won't go out with the legacy you've left behind. thank you sir. rest well.
This is it. This is the video that got me into Ken Block, gymkhana, rally racing, Subarus, ... Goodbye, #43, and thank you. You'll forever be a legend for me. A great guy on the track, and from what I hear an even better man off the track.
When I was a little kid I used to watch these GYMKHANA/DC Shoes videos over and over again with my father. This is why I became a car enthusiast (and I belive many guys for the same reason too). Rest In Peace you legend, I and the other car guys around the world would never forget you! Thank you for the memories and the entertainment you always gave us. Hope you do the biggest donuts and do some crazy stunts in heaven!
Despite all 9 GYMKHANA videos, this is by far my favorite. I just can't get enough of that Subaru rumble. And it reminds us where Ken Block started with rally.
Just finished watching the entire Gymkhana playlist in one sitting. RIP Ken, you were a huge influence on my love of motorsport and if I saw your name I knew I was going to get an awesome display of driving on the absolute limit. ♥
04-07 are the best years for the STi, 07 was the last year Subaru competed in wrc. This is the video that started it all. This will always be the best gymkhana video.
Rest easy Ken. I grew up watching your insane videos and you have inspired me and hundreds of millions of others. You were my hero and got me into rally racing. It truly will not ever be the same without you. Real legends never die, and your legacy will live on, in the heart of myself and many others. You revolutionized the car scene and bought it to the point it is today. As a fellow mountain biker and huge fan, I hope that you will be drifting the streets of heaven. Never forget to KILL ALL TIRES and GO FAST, RISK EVERY THANG. Thank you for everything you have done for me and so many others, and I truly hope that your legacy will never be forgotten. You may be gone, but never forgotten. RIP to my hero and an amazing human being. You will be sorely missed.
I was 16 years old when this came out. Probably the biggest influence for me getting into motorsport. Watched every gymkhana Video, Saw him Live with the Gymkhana Fiesta when he came to Australia. A Legend. Up there with the rest of the greats. While he may not have had the WRC success like Colin McRae or Richard Burns, he was certainly one of the most influencial in Rally/Gymkhana/Motorsports. Rest in Peace Ken. You will not be forgotten
It's hard to think that I've been following Ken's journey through the gymkhana series, from the beginning. The series revitalized my passion in cars and motorcycles. To hear of his passing, is beyond heartbreaking. This one will hit the motoring community just as hard as Paul Walker's passing. Rest in peace #43
RIP Ken Block a true legend with the greats like Peter Brock, Ayrton Senna, Colin McRae and Dale Earnhardt you will be missed by your fans, friends and family. Your mark on this world has been made and you will be remembered for ages to come.
Ain't against the evolution of all gymkhana videos, and even the Electrikhana tastes good, but THIS, is a holy grail. Not so much pre-production, not tons of cameras with multiple angles, just a sick heavy modified STI with a glorious boxer sound slashing tires.
This has to be my favorite gymkhana video. Not only for the car ( thats just a bonus) but there are no silly special effects, just PURE driving!!! Ken Block at his finest!

RIP "Ken Block", my most favourite rally driver. I have been watching this first video since I was a teenager. Your extreme driving videos will be remembered forever. Deepest condolence to your family.
So sad your gone man. You’re the best at what you do. You are so entertaining and exciting to watch. The way you make your cars/truck dance is incredible. Just love watching you pull those shifts and hand brake like a bad ass and go full throttle all the way and carry insane speeds into a turn. Freaking legend. Thank you Ken Block for everything you have given us. 💔❤️
No Ken block was part of Subaru rally team USA but I. 2009 he got an offer from fords WRC team to compete in the 2010 WRC Ford Focus RS WRC and he took it up making the change to ford completely.
+boydownunder007 And behold, all was laughing because they was driving Fords. Just kiddin', love the boxersound and blobeye is the bestlooking WRC car of the mid 00s ;)
Heard of his passing this morning. So sad. He was amazing! Had to come back to watch this original video. When this came out I wanted a WRX sooo bad. Couldn't afford it and bought a Mazda Speed3 instead. Had a lot of fun in that car. My bro owned an STI and he sent me this video back then. I'll never forget watching this video over and over and sending it to everyone. Incredible driving and still brings a smile to my face today! RIP.
Remembering the time when I first watched this video as a middle-schooler, it got engraved in me as one of the coolest things ever. I'm grateful that I got to witness this legend from those 'early' days of doing these wickedly awesome things with a steering wheel and 4 wheels. Thoughts to the family. Seeing this man go when you've watched him just a few days earlier thinking the guy is gonna do the same crazy $hit even in his 80s
@VThemes Creative he's been into motorsports for awhile before Gymkhana and rally he was doing motocross and Supercross, and I believe before that he did snowboarding
awd looks 10x better then rwd, go ahead spew overrated opnion below rwd looks boring as fuck shore it takes more skill by why have 2 wheels when you can have 4.
+Brandon Powell You really think RWD would be boring? maybe not as fun for you, but drifting RWD can be done fast and you could do all he does with AWD.
You're not even drifting in a AWD, you're powersliding. And no, I don't get your "RWD iz borin". AWD is for kiddos, it's only good in rally. RWD is for petrolheads. AWD is cancer.
Olivier Savard Says the guy with the AWD Skyline in his pic.. It's technically powersliding for both. you're using the power of the car to slide the car. Let's face it, none of us are skilled to do any of it, so it's all awesome, and all hard.
These videos, as well as the man behind them, were an absolutely monumental piece of my childhood and played an enormous role in forming my passion for everything that turns fuel into fun. Thank you, Ken. Rip in peace with the other legends: Senna, McRae, etc
Watching this at 8 years old set me on a trajectory to do what I loved, regardless of what anyone told me. At 23, I touge the mountains of California trying to chase my dreams of building and bashing machines on mountain passes and tracks. Thank you for everything, Ken. The inspiration and the vision. Youll be so missed. Rally in paradise, legend. 43 Forever!
Part of what started it all for me right here. I remember thinking how crazy this video was (still is). This video ignited my passion for shooting cars. Thank you Ken, RIP.
I remember watching this like it was yesterday. I would dream about owning an STi of my own. Fast forward years later and I have my very own ‘20 world rally blue STi limited. Thank You Mr. Block for the dreams. RIP Ken Block

I’ll never forget watching this as a 15 year old when it first came out, crazy how long it’s been and much everything has progressed. Car culture owes Ken and Hoonigan eternal appreciation for all they’ve done to progress this entire culture. Godspeed, Ken. Thanks for everything.
Rest in peace Ken, you made my childhood with this series and made me fall in love with cars. You will forever be in my heart ❤ may you stay slaying tires ❤️
Once a Subaru always a Subaru. Despite the affairs Ken had with Ford and Audi he'll always be a Subaru man through and through. Just like Colin McRae (1968-2007) and Richard Burns (1971-2005). Thank you for everything you have done, you will be greatly missed but you'll never be forgotten.
This video absolutely blew my mind when it first came out, I’ve watched it so many times over the years. Ken will be missed so so much, he inspired generations.
We need a remaster/upscale of this legendary beginning of a fantastic motorsport history. I used to watch it during every class break on my old Nokia phone. RIP Ken, I will miss you

Gymkhana 11 will mark the comeback of Subaru ( and Travis Pastrana )! I can't wait to hear that sound again! One of the best engine sounds of all Gymkhana.
This video is one of the reasons I purchased my 05 STi and still have it to this day. Thank you Ken for introducing us to so much great stuff and inspiring a huge sector of automotive culture.

I cannot fathom the impact that gymkhana had on car culture as a kid on the early 2000. Rest in peace legend.
I watched this when I was 16 and you had a huge impact. RIP Ken. Keep shredding 🤘

+bmunk75 Exactly. Simple, loud, and straight (or sideways) to the point.
you are right !
Just because of the subaru. I only like the mustang and this impreza... not that new impreza and fiesta...
The WRX should never been designed as a hatch in the first place.
The sound of that car gets me goose bumps! I miss the subaru and it's boxer engine in WRC!
I still find this the most amazing gymkhana.. not only because the great boxer sound !
