I appreciate you guys giving your heights. It makes it easier for us to gauge how we would fit in these cars.
I agree with Jill. Ford should use the swoop on the front doors like on the F150 on all trucks like the Ranger, maverick. Make all doors the same way. Improve visibility
Thanks for doing this video. Glad to see how well you fit in it.
can't believe no sunroofs in any Rangers
The biggest fail of the Ranger is no vents in the back. I thought they would’ve fixed that issue by now.
Lmao who f ing cares? I'm not buying this vehicle for passengers or kids I don't have. The air circulates well enough.
Neither does the taco
I think his comment shows he cares and honestly it irritates me.
Yeah this is not an SUV cab.
If that’s the biggest fail it has, sounds like it’s near perfection in your mind. I can find a few other aspects that I feel are more important than providing a little additional airflow to backseat passengers.
Great point Jill about the belt line. I had not thought it mattered until I rode in a rental Frontier. The additional visibility from that dropped front window was noticeable and appreciated. Overall though, the Lariat seems like a great deal. But in the age of high end cameras though, I wish a wider screen was used. Reminds me of the old jokes about portrait mode with a cell phone camera. So why portrait Ford (and Ram)?
Yup, Ford would get another 10 grand outta me if they made the interior for someone 6 and half feet tall. I ordered the Maverick.
Glad to see you back on Ford Tim. Never should of left!
FAIL!! 50k and no HVAC in the back seat, Ford needs to provide the same as they do in other countries.
The back is tiny, don’t think you really need it
Lmao I couldn't care less. I'm buying this vehicle for myself. Not for the passengers or kids I don't have. The air circulates well enough.
The taco is $56k without rear vents even bigger fail!
Hey there Tim, did you mention that there's at least 48" of space on the bed's floor, between the inner fenderwells, and that a 4'X8' of plywood will fit flat on the floor?
That to me, adds value if you plan to use this truck for work.
“Avoid the TFL guys over there”. That is not being very neighborly Tim. I’m sensing some tension here?
Making a joke
Just a joke.
Looks to have more rear seat room than the colorado and tacoma. The trail boss colorado and the tacoma look better though. The looks are definitely better than the previous generation ranger.
The biggest fail is there is no regular cab long bed, Ford makes them in other countries but not the USA not everyone wants a daddy cab.
I am looking at a Ford Ranger once they get released to the market. Curious when the 2.7l Ecoboost V6 will be released. The rear seat will fold flat so you can use it for carrying items in the back, the rear bench will open up for some storage beneath the seat. One thing they should have included is ventilated front seats. Thank you for the great videos.
There is a lot to like about this new Ranger, however I don't see heads up display and heated and ventilated seats as an available option. Jill is right about not having a good way to get up in the bed. Should be some type of step or recess in the bumper to access the bed.
If ford could figure out a way to get that shifter up on the column it would be great!!
Jill, Im about to reupholster a suv seat for my friend because she ( like you here) wears skits daily and she finds that higher vehicles have two issues - she cant get in (missing that grab handle, though she is taller than you by 3", and because of the skirt she cant always slide in like one should. After seeing this video - Im thinking of looking for a grab handle for her vehicle so she can go UP and in instead of up at a slant and in.
Truck King on yt promotes an aftermarket grab handle, it looks like a good’un.
@@garysarratt1yeah... I remember them talking about that some months ago. Ill have to go see if that will work on her vehicle.
@@garysarratt1found their handles.. .they are add-ons to existing handles. Have to find an aftermarket handle to add on to the truck. ( on my case, the suv.)
@@WadeSmart K, I hope you find exactly what you need!
Hey I made it into your video :) Good review Tim
Cameos everywhere!
@All Terrain Nation: Can’t wait for you to get your Raptor! Overall though, the Ranger is a miss. I am a huge Ford guy too, so disappointed. Wish I had kept my 2019 Ranger Lariat FX4
We love you Tim, but give the camera to Jill!
Jill to your comment, the outgoing Ranger looked like it used left over interior parts from the previous Edge
That’s because they did. The reintroduced Ranger is from the Australian market which is also why the interior looked more like a car’s than truck’s. Ford knew they were losing market share to Toyota in this segment and at that time the versions of the GM products were ultimately not competitive.
Both GM and Ford are not really going after Toyota Tacoma owners. They are trying to take potential future Tacoma owners as this segment is more practical than a full size truck for suburban use (garages and parking spaces).
I spent half an hour at the Toronto auto show trying to convince myself I like the new ranger. I was stoked to see it, and was so disappointed. I like the 2023 and older models much better aesthetically. This truck is not worth the 60k+ CAD that they are going for. ☹️
Grabbing the door will eventually ruin the hinges and they have to be replaced. Very expensive to replace how do I know I've been there
Ford built tough!
Finish details are important given the cost of these trucks
Yes
I did see ford now has the ranger orv performance package. Could you guys review that? Is it worth it up against the other midsize trucks and off roading?
100/0 rear seat split..effing genius Ford.
I really like the new Ranger, but I also like the new GM twins too.
Tim, can you tell me if that Lariat has 4A? You didn’t say…. You mentioned 4 high and 4 low, but what about 4A?
It does not have 4 auto. My dealer , along with a ford rep , has told me that. The FX4 package does have driving modes though.
Ranger Raptor has 4A. No other trims do sadly…
@@erickisel8668 Thanks very much, that's what I thought.....
@@jamesberry7444 Thank you! I appreciate that.....
Maybe the grab handle multitasks as a clothes hanger.
Does Jill have her own channel, she's really good at reviewing vehicle's .....
Nice video, as usual! I like the new Ranger, but don’t necessarily love it. The exterior is underwhelming, but nice interior updates. I am guessing the Ranger will remain quite competitive in terms of function (tow capacity, payload, etc.). I am not the least bit brand loyal and I have never been a fan of the GM Colorado/Canyon, but I much prefer the “look” of the new GM products and both the Ranger and Colorado/Canyon seem at the top of the class in terms of towing/payload. Yes, I am watching the roll out of the Tacos as well as the refresh of the Ridgeline and the solid Frontier as well. I am concerned that the Frontier and, possibly the Taco, will trail the real world payload of the Colorado/Canyon, Ranger, Gladiator (Sport S), and Ridgeline. Ultimately, cost will play a huge role for me. I am buying at the end of 2024. Relatively, who will be offering the best prices???
It would be nice if incentives came back.
I’m a Ford fanboy, but I think GM did a much better job this time
I am a Ford guy too, this is a big miss aside from Ranger Raptor
Is the Ranger really going to be available this year? Really?
Good review.
It better be , lol. Already received my email for production end of this month.
@@jamesberry7444 which trim did you purchase?
@@cs1992 Lariat
Yes really. 🤣 We are finally getting to drive it in a couple weeks, so that’s a good sign.
@@cs1992 Lariat
When is the 2.7 going to be available for sale?
No word.
Are these trucks in dealers yet?
Not even in production yet.
@@Pickuptrucktalk The new Tacoma came after this and it's already in dealers
@@jimmyr1683 Toyota didn’t go on strike. The UAW strike really screwed up Ford.
@@Pickuptrucktalk oh ok
There is 3 old Jeep trucks for sale in western ny . I believe I have picture of 1..? All original. Not pristine but not junk either!
I believe there is a bed step. Its on each side of the rear bumper.
That is a option if you want it.
Yup, optional.
1. Its a Lariat? Its should already be on there Ford. 2. Why not put it on the truck you’re bringing to a show?
@@tommyboy0379 I agree. Was a little disappointed when i ordered that it wasnt included. I personally dont need it though , still would have been nice to be included on the lariat package since thats what i have on order , lol.
No 4a in Lariat?
The canyon looks better so for money I’d go with that . The ranger raptor is in class in its own though
I haven’t seen one review that details bed dimensions. Specifically, can you fit a 4x8 piece of plywood between the wheel wells?
I’ll have to let you know next month when I drive it.
Not a word about the motor.
Correct! This was just a walk around. We get to drive it next month that’s when we will talk engine.
I thought that truck was supposed to have steps on the side of the bed
It's a option at order. I believe its a $400 to $500 option.
Originally, these had to be for a market other-than North America?
They were we got this remodel 2 years later
Interesting, very interesting, but I wonder where is the V6?
Only on Raptor.
The 2.7L V6 will be a job 2 option on XLT and Lariat
Thanks.@@Pickuptrucktalk
@@marcelmetcalfe6900 Sorry, forgot about the 2.7L.
When will it be available?@@Pickuptrucktalk
I didn't even have to watch the video to answer..... no!
The XL is the EXACT same truck without the bells & whistles. Buying the Lariat for $4000 more you're only getting $1000 worth of bells & whistles.
I agree. Buy the XL or go for Raptor. No point to the other trims.
@@erickisel8668And the Raptor is only good for impressing the neighbors lol
Dude slow down talking. Let the girl talk you are almost incomprehensible 🤣
Simple answer: no. But people will finance them anyway just to show off.to people who really don't care.
Oompa-Loompa Limosine🤣
Work Wife !
The biggest deal with the Sliding rear window is... ' You have to pull over, get out, and open it ' .... OR....Maybe just open it before you head out if you feel yould like it open ??? Maybe ? LOL
Or never open it? Lol
My maverick has powered rear window super cool
Then you have to pull over to close it. Honestly, it is extremely handy to have in hot weather. Open it up as you drive away and expel all the hot air than you can close it remotely when the A/C kicks in. Just amazing that GM would have a digital rearview mirror and HUD but not this.
Big fail should have a split rear seat
@Pickup Truck plus SUV Talk: Tim, I am the biggest Ford guy there is but other than Raptor, the Ranger is a big miss…
With modern pickups, the question is - how bad a ripoff is the Ford Ranger Lariat? Because no pickup truck is worth the money at this point.
Full size pickups are 70k plus , so 40k to 50k for a midsize isnt that bad. Its the world we live in today.
The interior is a hot mess. Too big LCD and SHIFTER IS NOT MECHANICAL. junk
My ears were bleeding after 2 minutes into the video.👎
She ruined and stealed your show
No trucks are worth the ridiculous prices these days!!!!
This woman doesn't know trucks or what truck owners want: I use the GRAB HANDLE of my Ford F150 Lariat LITERALLY EVERY TIME I enter my truck.... and I am 6 foot tall. She is putting 95 lbs of weight on the door, not 225 lbs.
You will never get full sized adults into the rear seats..... seems to fit vertically challenged dwarfs just fine though.
