@Pooja Sharma we devotees of Jagannath doesn't need to go shri mandir for Darshan, each and every Odiya household have Lord jagannath in their house temple. Discrimination withe whom, if you believe him he is in your heart, if not then why you wan to see. When I was a child I played with little wooden idol of Jagannath.. We can talk with him.... It's en experience which can't come by automatically for this you need to know the history.

This has nothing to do with Lord's mood but admin rules. The rules are a reminder of the history and the dangers other religions pose to Dharmic traditions.

U don't have to go to temple to seek divine darshan but some people go and get looted like hell. Pandit ki tum baat hi choro maine 15-16 saal dekha hai kisiko harm nahi kiya lekin lobhi hote hai.

A temple is not a zoo to observe God. A temple is a house of God where his believers can come and worship without being stared or gawked at. This country has been invaded far too many times; spare the temples now. A temple's job is to enable worship to its own people. Don't expect the temples to be secular and pander to people of all faiths, that is not its purpose. A Hindu temple is built for Hindus, not for everyone else.
If a person [who is not a Hindu by birth or by conversion] wants to learn about Hindu philosophies, faith and rituals; let him read the books and speak to the practitioners [there are millions of both available]. If he has only idle curiosity, let him look at pictures and watch videos and be satisfied. Let him roam the length and breadth of the country and speak to sadhus and meditate in the meditation halls and the ashrams. And only then, after he is convinced that he has full faith in the Hindu way of life and its religion, let him make it official, let him declare it for all the world to see. Then, and only then, when he has officially declared his faith, may he enter the house of God and offer worship like his other believers. This is reasonable.
I'm not saying that this lady is visiting as tourist but rules are rules. Even Indira Gandhi were not allowed to enter the temple (although she married a non Hindu that's why)

They are not hindu. They belong to ISKCON. Many foreigners that come are a part of ISKCON. The ISKCON foundation has stated itself that they are not Hindu and do not associate with Hinduism. They also believe that anyone/any Hindu who worships any God other than Krishna is wrong. They believe that only Krishna can be God and all other Hindu gods are beneath him... they even go as far as to call the other Hindu gods demigods. This is wrong. So why should we let these ISCKON people inside the temple when they themselves say that they are not Hindu? Due to repeated attacks on Jagannath Puri by invaders, the temple administration came with a law not to allow anyone who is not a native Hindu to enter the temple in order to protect its sanctity. But Lord Jagannath lives in the heart of his devotees. Does not matter where you come from, the temple authorities may stop you from entering the temple but they cannot stop your Bhakti.

All these years I was longing to see Bhagwan Jagannath and visit the temple , after watching this , I feel that you are more rightful person to have His Darshan than me..my birth in Hindu family does not make me a true Hindu..you are Krushna's own children.

Recently I came to know that now they are allowing Iskon devotees to enter and have Darshan. It's good but Lords doors should be open for all.

Sister that's why every year we celebrate Rath Yatra ( car festival) . Lord Jagannath and his siblings stay outside of temple so that people who can't enter the temple can see them on that particular time . Don't feel sad . I think this year it will be restricted to everyone for the current pandemic . You can come next year and see Jagannath ji .

One doesn't need to go to temples to get the Lord's blessings, He is omnipresent and dwells in pure hearts. This is the true temple
One needs to visit temple for Darshan of the heritage and sense of community. But the rules are a reminder of the threat and damage the temple has gone through. An abused person may have certain reservation. Same goes for an abused temple.

@@swastika450wrong. They are just starting to come out of the Christian mindset. You should see how they disrespect Durga and just until a few years ago, disrespected Shiva also. Jagannath is aware of this and hence has placed his restrictions.

The temple was attacked and temple walls destroyed many times in past by islam in past by rude mughal...So for idol and temple safety that rule made for non hindus no entry...But don't sad friend,if we believe God Jagannath we pray from heart ,he will listen.God always pleased a good hearted kind person

1. if in the temple there are 50% islamic religion and 50% hindus ,some how there a confusion creates in temple ,there will a severe fight and Danga between people and destroy of temple assets
2. In view to future ,there islam religion people growth rate 2 times higher than hindus,so if the rule lifted it will a. Problem in future for a hindu temple
3. Muslims eating beefs,where milk and curds are prasad in this Jagannath temple
,Where hindus believe cow as another like mother as they depended from cow milk production in past

There is nothing shameful about it , its the history . Jagannath temple was attacked 18 times , especially during mughal raj and then Britishers looted the temple..Do you know, jaggannath's gold have been stolen ? Priests sacrificed their lives to save the idols . Local people along with puri king and priests then decided to put these rules because they didn't want anybody to attack the temple premises again . That is why rath yatra was popularized that the idol will come out to meet the devotees..Jagnnath is also said to be a living god and we know he is a form of krishna . Krishna is fond of cows , and sorry but foreigners have consumed beef at one point of time . That is another reason .

Since the temple was attacked more than 18 times in past, devotees of foreign nationality should not be allowed to enter now..the temple is a high security zone , trained and armed security forces are deployed to protect the temple from all sides, noone can enter it with any weapon ..still some people use the stupid logic of past invasion to deny entry to the devotees
