  • Silvering of lens is an important concept of Ray Optics chapter where one surface of lens is silvered and questions based on it is asked in JEE Main and JEE Advanced examination.
    In this video Mohit Goenka Sir teaches the condition to remember while applying formulae and also he takes 2 very good numerical based on it.

      since lens is same implies focal length remains same

  • @parikrama5217
    @parikrama5217 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I have a major doubt, hoping you would answer it. In Q1 what if we just apply the lens maker's formula instead and then check
    considering that mu 2 = 3/2 or 1.5 and mu 1 = 1
    mu2/ v - mu1/u = u2 - u1/R
    since it's a concave lens however,
    1.5/v + 1/30 = -0.5/30
    v = -30 , right at the position of the object, now for the silvered lens, or the convex mirror
    1/v1 - 1/30 = 1/ 15 (since it's convex)
    v1 = 10, aage jayega nhi as surface ke peeche image hai, so please do clear the doubt that how exactly can my answer be 6 if I go by this method, can memorize the formula later.

    • @mohitgoenka99
      @mohitgoenka99  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      till step 2 you did correct
      that v1 = 10cm means after reflection from convex mirror a virtual image is formed behind the mirror at 10 cm.
      Now this ray after reflection from the mirror will again refract from spherical surface, so now virtual image formed at 10cm will act as object for this refraction. So now again use mu2/ v - mu1/u = u2 - u1/R and you will get 6 cm as answer
