    The Symmetry concept explained here is really interesting and important. The Symmetry around the normal to interface between medium plays an important role in optical refraction. It is not something associated with light rather with the distribution of internal constituent of material through which light is passing during its refraction....
    Thank you Sir, you are one of best science teacher and popularizer of our country.

      The speed of light is changing in denser medium. When ray of light falls normally on the interface, then it does not bend. It means that the time period is not constant and will take longer time to pass because of less speed of light,but time period is always constant. How is this possible? Please answer this in this way not in sin i / sin r = 0
      hope you will ans to my doubt

    • @priyabratadash381
      @priyabratadash381 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@KavitaYadav-ul8fb Time period and frequency of a wave (the interrelation f=1/T) depends upon source frequency and due this reason unless the repeatability or periodicity of source is affected, medium is not going to affect both frequency and time period. The velocity of light varies on passing from one medium to another medium because of the variation in wavelength. C = frequency1× wavelength 1 in vacuum. When it gets into another medium C changes to let V. Then V = frequency 1× wavelength 2. The variation in the wavelength (the spatial gap between two repetitions) is the reason behind changing of velocity. Again the bending of light for case oblique incidence is beautifully explained in Electromagnetic theory. See Fresnels theory of refraction and reflection in EMT.

From past three years I am regularly teaching and telling students that don't go with the misconceptions. Snell's law is valid in every condition but students Aaj line on some websites which are no authentic information. Thanks to HC VERMA SIR

    I argued my science teacher regarding this topic for a whole period of 45 mins. He was saying that no refraction occurs when light incident normally to the surface but I was not satisfied because whatever the angle is... Change in velocity, wavelength, amplitude still occurs. So why not to call it refraction?? Because of only unchanged direction?? Definitely not. Because as sir mentioned here... Bending is sign of refraction but not itself refraction. I 100% convinced my teacher with my points to accept this as refraction. Thank u for he video sir... Big fan👍

    Light is a sine wave having plus and minus electric monopoles. Moment is necessary for bending, which requires force and moment arm. Inclined light beam has a downward component of electric field which produces downward force due to attraction between opposing electric monopoles and moment arm, as a result light beam rotates towards normal in denser medium like clock pendulum. In normal incident light beam there is no downward component of electric field or downward force. Also there is no moment arm the light beam therefore travels straight through denser medium without bending.

    • @urvashiagrawal6362
      @urvashiagrawal6362 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey!
      As we know that electrons are negatively charged ions and cathode is also a negatively electrode which means it is made of negatively charged electrons.
      And anode is positively charged. We know that electrons (negatively charged ions move from negative to positive electrodes) that is they move from negatively charged cathode to positively charged anode
      Hope you'll get it.
      If still there's a question, you can ask me out

      Voltage is created from potential difference between two charged particles,if you have a positive pole and there are two electrons near it the closer electron will face more force and will have more potential than other,this difference in the potential is called potential difference.this difference is needed to create flow of electron.

      Here's the mathematical explanation , if you still have the doubt :
      I am representing red as r and violet as v.
      Wavelength r > Wavelength v
      => Mew v > Mew r (since wavelength is inversely proportional to refractive index)
      => Sin i/Sin v> Sin i/Sin r
      => Sin r> Sin v
      => r>v

    Sir aapki book ''concepts of physics '' me drift velocity ka Jo formula hai vo galat hai....kyuki hamm single electron ki nhi multiple electron ki average velocity lete hai matlb Sahi equation hoga (V=eEt/m).wo V=eEt/2m single particle ke liye aayega . Sir mujhe 1 bar confirm kr dijiye comment krke

    Sir, in following velocity in media 1/ velocity in media 2 (v1/v2) is equals to 1/u(mew).. Hence, it can be observed by refractive index is inversly proportional to velocity in media

    Sir ,why does the light not deviate when passed through optical centre of a lens

    • @akshatshah3961
      @akshatshah3961 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Abhay Pratap Singh
      It does deviate, but as the lens which is used is so thin , that the deviation is negligible, so even in textbooks it is written that we use thin lenses, after all we imagine the centre as glass slab, and deviation in glass slab is directly proportional to thickness of slab

    Sir i am ashutosh. I study in class 10. Sir I have a doubt in the ohm's law that
    I=Q/T therefore Q=I×T
    V=W/Q putting Q=I×T
    Therefore V=W/(I×T) that implies V is inversely proportional to I then how can it be V be directly proportional to I according to Ohm's law.

      Hello Ashutosh !
      Nice to see the questioning attitude.
      One approach to answering your question is as follows:
      BRIEF, ONE LINE ANSWER: V not inversely proportional to I, because W / t is not a constant.
      -EXPANDED EXPLANATION:
      -> Whenever we wish to convert an equation expressed in the form of proportionality to the form of equality, we introduce a constant.
      --> Likewise, following the same logic, if we wish to convert an equation in the equality form to a proportionality form to establish the proportionality between two quantities, we have to ensure that the remaining quantities are CONSTANT.
      --> By this logic, in the above equation, where we have V=W/(I x t), we could have said V is inversely proportional to I, ONLY IF the remaining part on right hand side, W/t, is constant. However, that is not the case. W/t is work done divided by time, which is the same as power. If Voltage is varied, then for a given resistor, the power in the circuit will NOT remain the same.
      --> to take the arithmetic steps that you have taken one step further, we could say that W/t = P (Power). Since Power = VI, we can now say that V = V I / I, i/e., V = V, which is consistent.
      --> To put it differently, to infer that V is inversely proportional to I, in contradiction to Ohm's law, we will have to establish that W/t, i.e., Power P in the circuit is a constant for varying voltage or current, which is not true. As you increase the voltage applied to a resistor, we observe experimentally beyond doubt that current increases. Since Power is product of V and I, as both increase, P will also increase considerably, not remain constant.

    Thinking causally if we are travelling in a bus and suddenly brakes are applied than a wave in contact to the floor of the bus is being generated and supposing the friction acts opposite to the wave generated if we can manage to equal the magnitudes of both the generated waves then no person will get a forward push in the bus.Sir can this be possible?

    Good evening sir..I am saanvi, studying in 10 standard.. sir I confusion ...it is always said that potential difference is directly proportional to current..which is further equal to charge ×time..which states that potential difference is directly proportional to charge..but according to potential difference definitions V=W/Q....which means charge is inversely proportional...so I am not able to understand it??

      You are indirectly referring to Ohm's law while stating potential difference is directly proportional to current. The only misinformation is that Ohm's law is not always valid, it has many exceptions.
      Whereas while talking to the definition,
      a) Potential difference= Work done/charge
      b) Current= Charge/time;
      Both above equation are general statements and is always valid.

    Sir...apne kaha ...light does not bend because it has many options of directions to bend in this case by the angle 10 degrees ...but second law says the incident ray , normal and refracted ray all lie in same plane...then it will have only two directions to bend either left or right with an angle..
