    Great info, but here is a tip for you to break off or cut that single strand much faster and easier. Especially at the end of that haywire. Shape the tag end into a crank shape think kind of like a Z or N, then take the end and crank or rotate it at the point where you want it to break. You’ll be amazed at how quickly and easily it snaps in this way. 🎣

    I was watching another one of your videos and you were talking about the weights you use and signature way of attaching them. My question is have you ever used anything less than 50lb mono to attach the weight to the line? I was thinking about trying 10lb mono hoping whatever takes the bait will break the line.

    I'm just getting into shark fishing and I think your videos are great!but I need some advice, what kind of tackle would you use if you were going after smaller sharks from the beach? I'm saving up for a big boy rod and reel but I have a few smaller conventional reels I would like to get set up for sharking. The reels I have can hold about 350yards of 20lb mono. What would you use for your main line all the way to the hook? Thanks in advance.

    I've seen a guys channel when he gets the shark close he clips a thick rope onto the wire and traces with the rope, when the rope is clipped on I'm pretty sure he cuts the mono, he must have the rope tied off to the rod holder if it takes one last run, I kind of like the idea tracing with thick rope

  • @ruanjacobs9900
    @ruanjacobs9900 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Opinion on running straight cable to swivel which connects to main line? Since it should be much more bullet than mono?
    2nd, some swear by snelling circles since applying pressure in a snelled circle it forces the hook to curl in and results in a better "hookup rate" by enhancing the function of it.
    But as displayed in your video and many other youtubers crimping(Flemish eye or standard loop), the circle dangles with free range of motion which is the opposite of a snell.
    Have you tried both methods and noticed a difference between styles? If not , have you had any issues(function wise resulting in less hookup rate) with circles by ringing up the way you do with AD WAS wire or (in my case) cable crimped with Flemish eye or standard loop and crimp.
    Love the content and will value your opinion as well as experience with regards to above stated question.
    Regards
    Ruan

      On that set up I'd run 80lb braid bottom (about 500 yards), then top shot with 80 lb mono. Recommend XtremeBraid or power pro for braid; Andy monster or suffix for mono.
      Run these rigs with the mustad with rocks for weights and break away mono to tie on... best trick I've learned since it's hell to reel in on smaller gear those large weights in...

      @@texasbeast3937 That's why you use a heavy circle hook, the hook will set in the corner of the mouth. The leader is outside the mouth, then all you have to worry about is tail whipping. They won't tail whip through 49 strand.
