With a jumping bass and off-beat syncopation, this is straight from Memphis' Beale Street. The Hammond organ and electric guitar play together as longtime friends, while the melody changes hands from guitar to organ to electric piano. 011

When I was a kid one of my friend’s mom had a ‘61 Impala bubble top with a 348 engine. When dad bought it he traded a 1960 Falcon with a 3 speed manual transmission that she could not master driving. They drove it until about 1970 when it was totally rusted out. They sold it to a neighbor kid who immediately hot rodded it until he blew it up.
1961 2 Door Hardtop(bubble)...just doesn't get any better.Glad to be around when cars were classy.
Easily the most gorgeous machine to come from Detroit in 1961 and the epitome of the late great (1958-1964) Chevrolet years.
Just beautiful. I love it. '61 was such a unique look for the big Chevrolet.
This really is a nice example. One of the cleanest that I've seen. Thanks for checking it out!
Had a black '61 Impala with the 348 in the winter of '71-'72. Usta park the Vette & buy a $50-100 car, put recap snow tires on it & drive it for the winter. Bought my '61 for $50 from the neighbors (it'd been parked in their back yard for a few years, with no reverse), put the recaps on it along with straight pipes & drove it for the winter with no reverse. Only fast food was McD's. Filled the back seat up with the bags, wrappers & Coke cups (X's 2 with my girlfriend) and come Spring the back seat & floor was full to the top of the seats! Drove it to the boneyard in April when the Vette was refired. Deja vu all over again.
I had a factory '61 SS with the '348" back in the early '80s. Wish I still had it!!
Holy cow it is like its absolutly New chevy color stunning motor powerfull and big i love it thanks jeff and Jordan for this video
superbly finished. great attention to detail.
I had 61 chev inpala boble top. It had the 283 with powerglid. Loved it, it is one that got away i want back.
Where's the bubble top? I see metal not glass. I was 15 in 1961 and everyone called this a 2 door hard top
I had a 62 Impala Sport Sedan. The early 60s Impalas were probably one of the best cars in most categories at the time. That car seemed priced to sell.
I have had, them all. I love classic cars. l was awarded, money. Young and spending money, like crazy. loll. Then sold each, car. One at a, time. Wishing I had, them to now. lesson learned, Thanks for sharing!
Freda Mims hello
Beautiful Chevrolet
Jeff great video as always, I love that paint job, looks like it is topped by a clear coat, that metal flake in the paint is looks really good. Your videos bring back fond memories of the good ol days. Keep up the good work.
The V8 emblems are incorrect for the 348 engine, should have the crossed flags in the golden V
RambinAround, When I was 8 years old my dad had the same exact one in Bronze color with a 283 engine Thank you for posting.
Anything's better than the decadence of the present!
LOVE those bubble tops! one of my clients has 2 of them.. but they are 62's.. which are nice as well..
2 door hard top
@paradoxdesigns It's clean everywhere. This is a quality car for sure. Thanks for checking it out Murray.
WOW! Just a terrific example.
If I had the money I definitely would buy it I like it
BEAUTIFUL CAR.
@1963impala2dr I've always liked them too. My parents had one in white with red interior. They really are sharp looking cars. Thanks for checking it out!
@JOHNDEEBANK My parents had a 61 with the same color combo as yours. They really are great looking cars. Thanks for watching!
Very nice car according to the front and rear badging it came with a 283.
@koioo2 Thanks for taking a look!
@gegu256 They did an excellent job on the restoration. Thanks for checking it out!
Beautiful Ride 👍
It is just so very beautiful amazing wow
Glad you like it, thanks for taking a look Keith!
Glad you like them, thanks for watching!
Omgosh so beautiful my dream car 😍
That's a beautiful car.
61 was the best looking Chevy of the 60s
@FatGuyWithAKatana Yep, this one's a real beauty. One of the best I've seen in a long time.
Jim Davis is right. Needs the V with the flags on the grill and the trunk. That car was built originally with the 283. And yes, why the 348 when the 360hp 409 was released mid year for the '61.
Моя любимая модель Импаллы!
Love the steering wheel and the rings those steering wheels had in them
No horn ring per se here yet they were great once you learned to use them properly
absolutely magnificent!! i think my all time favorite car would be the 62 belair 409 409 with a 4 speed. shine runnin car! lol
i wishd id had 3 impalas 2 red ones and one yellow
I thought the 348 Chevys had the Checkered flags on the grill badge.
yes. this evidently was originally with a lesser engine.
@8087j Thanks for checking it out!
good choice for a video! Beautiful car, always loved tghe 61s.
I always liked the 61 Impalas they have nice lines and 2 door hardtop styling that you don't see anymore on new cars only 4 door sedans I have a scale 1/25 model of the same car.
awesome!
Great looking car....Love the Demon behind it as well.
Thank you - I had one in 1965-66. It was Turquoise.
Man, I love that blue.....
@aaadream Yeah, plenty of room in that baby. Thanks for checking it out!
Wow my car very beautiful amazing car beautiful amazing look beautiful colour thanks friend have a very nice day
This vehicle has a 283 trunk emblem on it that appears to be original. I would have to take a real hard look at this car.
Yes, and in the front at the top of the grille as well. I wonder if the numbers match for a factory-installed original 348. Given that the block is date coded '60 (even though '61's started being produced in August that year), perhaps this was originally a 283 car.
@GeneralGHustler They are definitely cool...glad you like it!
@mitym64 The 409's are definitely legendary. Thanks for watching!
61is one of my favorite chevys
Believe me, for 14K you won't find a car anywhere near this nice.
$14000 you can’t buy a crushed bubbletop for that
This car must cost a fortune! How much was it in 1961? What a nice-looking '61 Chevy Impala this is!
@monarch1957 They really are great looking cars. Thanks for taking a look!
@briefman49 Thanks for watching!
the best classic car
@hunhun23 It really is a beauty. Thanks for checking it out!
Truly liked the video. :)
I love your videos man! Keep em coming please :)
Very baultiful!! I have one1/18 Sunstar diecast red Impala 61.
Me too
I was knee-high to a half-hill, when these came out.
O Cadillac Chevrolet Biscayne 1958 era muito mais emblemático.
I'm a Ford guy, but this is a Chevy I would really enjoy owning. Beautiful machine.
@neppy503 Thanks for watching!
But dont get me wrong love the car, its super clean.....I would buy it...
The V8 GM ,is something ......
Nice ride!!! I was having a little trouble seeing it with my old eyes, but does this car have that metal flake, sparkly carpet? Another curiosity... Is that a real spare tire, or is it a space saver? It looks like a full sized tire, but the way it fits on top of its shelf makes me wonder if the trunk area is really that large.
Hey I know where that car lot is..it wasn't there when I lived there many moons ago 1992 I lived out there with my aunt for a couple of months I went to Fort Zumwalt south hahah
Is the car sold already ? Please find me one like it, thanks
What is this address for ?
No, I'm afraid that one has been sold.
wow I seen the one there just like that one and may be the same car, and the tag price was 14k....
Is the color steel for sale I would love to know how many people has owned this car I think my dad owns that car at one time if I'm right that's the first car I ever drove
When I was a Kid, we went to a White Only beach in a 59 Convertible. My brother and I got 2nd degree burns, to which my "father" SLAPPED Old Spice on my Brother. To this day, the Smell of Old Spice makes me Puke! My Brother shrieked like an Old Woman!
holy stink is that thing clean underneath!
No believe me my brother, I see them all the time, maybe not out there were u live but in California were I stay u see them all the time
305 hp.
What is the price of Chaverolet Impala present market in India
@bisquik3006 Why anyone would swap out one of these motors is beyond me. The only reason I'd pull out the 348 would be to put in a 409.
Never quite understood the tilt of the dashboards.
+Dennis Leporte, So you could see everything better.....
Is this car still for sale???
You won't find this for 40K nowadays..
They didn't have the 348/409 flags in the grill.
I had a 61 rag top w the 348/280 HP engine.
305 h.p?
Where did this car end up?
Thee Atomic 61..
Shouldn't have the 348 flags on back?
How much
Where is the plexiglass bubble? I see metal 🤔
I done sold the car already.
How much for the 61
1961 WAS THE YEAR THAT CHEVY AND GM CUT THE WEIGHT DOWN ON THEIR CARS BY SHAVING THE BODIES DOWN THE WHEELBASE STAYED THE SAME BUT THE BODIES GOT SHAVED AND THE 61 SO CALLED BUBBLE TOP LOOKS IT. ITS WEIRD QUARTER PANEL AS IF THE DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITHOUT A WING. AND THAT'S WHY THE TOP GOT THAT NAME BUBBLE TOP. AND WEIRDER WAS THE 61 CADILLAC AS IT TOO HAD A BUBBLE TOP WITH WINGS.
11 year video comes up?
@RamblinAround It takes someone that simply can't think outside the box, and wants to save a buck or two. My brother has a 60, and got another 60 for a parts car. The parts car had a 348, and he sold it so he can put a 350 in his. No words to describe the gay in that move.
$40,000 ! 1961 it would've cost $2500.00 - $3500.00
Wasn't the 348 a truck motor?
They used them in both cars and trucks. People are just more familiar with the 409's.
I GOT MY FIRST VIRGIN IN A CAR JUST LIKE THIS.I CAN REMEMBER LOOKING UP AT THE MOON IN THE BACK SEAT.ALWAYS WONDER WHAT CAR THIS WAS I SURE DO REMEMBER THAT BACK WINDOW.WE GOT BUSTED BY THE FARMER THAT WHOS FIELD WE WERE PARKED IN .ALL HE SAID OK JUST DONT TEAR UP MY CORN WE WERE IN IOWA
You want to sell that car, take it out and burn the tires, that will get people's attention
@OmicronVolk Thanks for watching!
