This video is a talk through!!! Hey MB Crew!!! I forgot to mention in the video that the gel & pomade is kinda sticky until they dry!! The battle starts at 4:41 if you’d like to skip ahead!! Love y’all!!❤️😘😘
I made a mistake and got the gel because I thought it was a larger size of the pomade. It does not lay my edges down at all. I thought they changed the ingredients 🤦♀️🤦♀️. Thankfully I ran across your video to explain the differences. I thought I had to shop for another edge control. I tried lotta body it didn't work that pomade laid my edges for 10 mins lol. I also ordered a new edge control online called I am Blessed hands but she gave me a refund of my $15😮😮so back to edge booster I go!! Yes $15 for edge control it better perform miracles. Thanks again for your review!!😘💞
I want to do some passion twists which do you recommend to use for the actual twist part? I have 4c hair but it curls when I usually use the gel. Or should I use a little of both?
I just need to slick down my my 4XYZ edges. Do you recommend the pomade for rough edges? My edges don’t match my hair at all. My edges are disrespectful and need to be tamed.
Sy Muwah Sis, this only works for me if I’m not sweating!!! I had to run around on my job one day and it was an epic fail!!! I sweat from my head, so that’s a whole thing. When I’m not sweating, it works just fine for most of the day.
@@awuraama6833 Wet your hair before using it I love it and I just found out through an ingredient check that it contains Green Tea oil. I am keeping my hair short and it really defines my curls keeping my hair soft all day. I also use an oil under it.
Ohhhhhhh that explains a lot. My sister and I was using the small jar. I saw the big jar and thought it was the same. My sister bought the jar thinking it was the pomade but just bigger. She kept saying it's not the same. We didn't know there was a gel and a pomade.
Chile I love them both. Its all about the look u want at the time. Pomade gives you that SNATCHED SLEEK look. While the gel gives you that naturally laid look. Gel would be my everyday look though.
So as a tip to everyone, wait 2 minutes after applying any edge control to allow the edge control to “attach” to the spot you want to be laid. When you brush it right after applying, you brush the edge control “through” your hair. As you can see, the product from her edge control is now sitting at the ends of her puff, especially on the left side 😊
@@MonaB Hun I wasn't coming for you, it has happened to me before too until I discovered that letting the edge control dry a little bit before styling actually creates a better hold and I also don't need to use as much edge control. Good job on your video sus. :)
Finally a video with my hair texture. Everyone that’s I’ve found was mixed with something and claim to be type 4 hair. I think I’m going to try this on my hair.
I like the shine and sleek hold of the pomade more but one thing I don’t like about edge control type of gels is that they tend to get greasy, frizz up and lose hold after a hour or so, I mean it has its benefits as it doesn’t dry out the hair like regular gel but I just wish the hold was longer and it didn’t get so greasy
Hey 👋 Mona girl! Great tutorial however the edge booster pomade gave me all the flakes so I tried edge fixer max hold by Kiss and it worked wonders! 24hr hold, used it daily on my edges only and no flakes until about 3 weeks after using it daily due to product build up. Hope this helps someone, 4c hair and my hair is thick, thick! BTW, we share the same name :-)
Thank you for this video.. ive been trying all kinds of different gels, edge controls, waxes to try to.hold my thin 4c hair down and finally I feel confident that I won't have a problem with my sleek ponytails ever again! I went and bought the pomade after your video and am now wearing a top knot bun and bang on.its SECOND day and my hair is holding and in.place! Omg I'm.soo happy thank you! It's opening up doors.for a bunch of new styles and I feel confident that I can do them.myself! 💞
The hair seemed less wavy with the pomade 💯 thank you for this tutorial because it was greatly needed when choosing which product I need to achieve the look I was going for.
I feel especially the water based pomade does not hold good on coily kinky any 4 type hair, i feel it would do better on 3c hair. however the edge booster non water based extra strength pomade they have does work very good on 4 type hair in my opinion but i love their products always lay my edges with this.
I personally love this gel.... The gel dried faster on my hair. My ponytail last for 7 days without using a scarf. No lie.... I love the smell. I shampoo my hair, towel dry, style then add gel. Sometimes, I put a scarf on my hair while drying.
Thank you !!! Best video I have seen I accidentally bought the pomade not knowing the difference but I like the pomade better for a ninja bun SUBSCRIBED ! 💗
I can't tell you how much I appreciated this video!! I want to give you a hug..lol. I'm actually headed to the beauty store now and I know which one to get. Thank you thx u!!
I just stood in the beauty supply store for 15 minutes trying to figure out which one to get. 😒 I shoulda watched you first! I love the pomade on the puff, but the gel for the edges. I'm wondering if the pomade flaked because of the oil... Now, I wish I had gotten both of them.😁
I love n use the pomade for everything!!! Wash n goes, slick downs everything!!! I have puffy roots and this product is the shit! And now the pomade comes in the bigger jaw👀👀👀👀🤪🤪🤪🤪, I'm blown away in 💕💕💕!!!
Your hair is fine that's why it's easy for you, but it's a struggle to slick my thick strands dense hair in a ponytail. Will be trying style factor gel soon with got to be spray on top.
I think people prioritize hair type and its ability to slick to often because it really has a lot to do with the thickness of your hair I haven’t quite identified my hair type yet but i think its like 3a/3b which is typically easy to deal with hair and usually is pretty thin but my hair is THICK but the actual curls are loose, my hair does not even go flat to the scalp when soaking wet (my hair in the pic is damp with deep conditioner)
Great video love thiis video, I've always wanted t know the difference between Style Affect Gel and Pomade edge booster, very helpful thanks for sharing!

I’ve never used the gel only the pomade. Pomade is fire. My baby hair are on FLEEK....baby hairs on new born, incubator if you will lol I didn’t get any flaking with the pomade Malay be because I oil my scalp and hair line before or after (doesn’t really matter) I apply my leave in conditioner.
The only thing is I wish they had a bigger pomade because I have a lot of hair and with that small jar you can only get some uses but with the gel u get a lot more uses

Does the pomade get greasy and cause your hair to frizz up and lose hold after a few minutes to an hour like most edge controls or conditioning gels?
