The oil weakens the the edge control...that is why your edges come out. All you have to do is put a little water to get rid of the flaking. That youtuber obviously does not know what they are talking about. You don't need to put water on your edges before you apply the edge control.
I like to use a water based gel first, to shape them, then go over it with the Edge Booster to make sure it stays in place, and no flakes! I’ve heard too that you can out oil on top of your edges to prevent the flaming

When using edge booster there’s not a lot needed literally a little Nd I use eco gel with it personally I haven’t experienced flaking but I do spray water on my edges to prevent it and it holds well for me .
I watched this video and it was helpful. However best laid down edges is when u don't use alot of hair also. When I was growing up it was the baby hairs era. My mother would use old school but nu nile grease y'all it slicks and use to hold it down lol..

I use the edge booster and the trick is to not touch it after applying, at all lol No scarf, no extra swooping with fingers, no hat, NADA sister lol and it holds all day. I also sometimes use a softer edge control and then apply a veeeerrryyyy light layer of the edge booster on top. My edges don’t budge all day even after I workout.
This was a great video. I haven't found an edge control that works for me so I'm gonna check out Mielle Organics Flexible Hold and hopefully my search will be over.

I may be unpopular opinion but I’ve had the edge booster for a month now and I love it! I use my eco styler to style my hair and then I use my maximum strength edge booster on my edges and it stays all day, sometimes lasts 2 days! If it starts to turn a little while I just tap it with water and rub it back in and it’s good!

If I’m honest though, I believe edges hold best when they are fully moisturized, damp with an application of (1) flake free gel and (2) whatever edge control you think works best. For real, I’m not paying over $10 for an edge control. That’s outrageous.

Lol thanks for watching. And I feel like the satin scarves keeps the moisture of the product in and it’s still wet and greasy. The cotton ones pulls moisture letting the edge control dry and removes excess oils

For edge booster, I love it. It’s gets white sometime when you use it in the are that might move around (like right about your ear) so so me , after I lay them down, I use a little water on my finger or leave in conditioner and it prevents the white

And as you know most of these beauty supply stores do not allow you to return the products. For the Edge Booster, I always apply a little eco styler gel ( olive oil) to give it a maximum hold after applying the edge booster... in order to manage the ‘white flakey stuff’ you must not use a lot and for the most part use of fairly damp/clean hair... hope that helps!

Thanks for watching! ... I do my edges first then do my makeup. I go back in and fix around the edges with foundation or powder. I tend to not put much foundation on my forehead or near hairline for lots of reasons but that’s what I do. 😊
with the edge booster you have to apply some gel before applying the edge control trust me it works eco preferably! but my number one favorite edge control ☺️
I found that using a gel then put a new edge control on top my hair remains soft and hold last all day! I use a protein gel with the crime of nature edge control and it has a strong hold and i have. I tie down with a silk scarf as well.
Edge control don’t work on my hair .. just like gel .. it curls my hair 😕🙄 I need extra reinforcements .. wax .. and even wax gives up on me after a while Lordt Edit .. I live in the Caribbean and on my island .. well .. we don’t have anything much .. we have got 2 b though ... I’ll give it a go

Edge booster is my favorite, and it works AMAZING for my hair. I guess everyone’s hair needs different products.
I also use edge booster (pineapple scent) and it works amazing for my hair.
I use it with my braids and twists and they stay longer. Without it, my hair starts to crawl out and appear fuzzy. I like it as well.

Edge booster works for me. Something that stops the flake for me is that when I’m done I put a lil shine ‘n jam (extra hold) on top of it.

I found that using a gel then put a new edge control on top my hair remains soft and hold last all day! I use a protein gel with the crime of nature edge control and it has a strong hold and i have. I tie down with a silk scarf as well.

Edge control don’t work on my hair .. just like gel .. it curls my hair 😕🙄

You should try applying foam after gel then blow drying till dry completely. 3day hold
