Precise Relation is Love - Thomas Hübl

  • We are not feeling our feelings in order to get rid of them. We're feeling them because that's the process that's happening right now. I'm not looking who you can become. I am looking at who you are now and how I am with you. That's love.
If I'm willing to feel the feelings of the person that I am in contact with, then I don't create pressure. Then I create actually right relation, a respectful relation to numbness, for example. When I want to bypass the numbness to get to the feeling behind, I'm not respecting the numbness or the freeze. If something is frozen, then respecting the freeze is right relation.

Several years ago I was fortunate to have the experience of a long held, from childhood- freeze (numbness) being released from my body-psych-self. This was a moment of transformation for me. It was possible because I was in a supported, held situation.
I was training in Somatic Experiencing. Hearing these words, Thomas, I understand that the release of the frozen energy was possible because it was first allowed, or respected as you say. For me the respect and space given were crucial, but definitely a step in a process of release,
And of learning not through intellect alone, but rather through my whole being, the incredible wisdom of our nervous system .

"We are not feeling numbness or fear in order to get rid of it, we are feeling it because that's the process that's happening right now, and that's love. And by modeling that kind of love, it creates the environment for integration." Beautifully said, and such an important distinction. Thank you, Thomas!💕🙌🏼

A lot of teachings emphasize the importance of accepting the fear and sadness, providing space for them, and feeling them fully in our bodies (e.g.Eckhart Tolle and Kim Eng, Gabor Mate). But I remember the time when I was still very depressed, and it felt like I was drowning in my sadness, I felt it really intense, and it seemed hopeless, like there's no end to it. Somatic work has helped me a lot - intentionally transforming those heavy sensations in my body to feelings of lightness, openness. It empowered me, now I know that I can be a space for sadness sometimes because I have the experience of it changing in my body into smth different.

Honouring our numbness and that of others by being with it...for each other. That is so essential for building relationships that are safe and loving.

Respecting the numbness brings up sadness for me because there are relationships in my family that feel so narrow, so stilted and I wonder if I will ever experience a comfortable relationship with people I love. I keep loving, anyway, because it matters to me.

To perceive precisely what is, is a prerequisite for any development, and is in relationships real being seen. Well and understandably described!

Wow beautiful patient present kind true caring and so explains my own need/demand/attention to relational accuracy ( being accurately heard/seen) or as you so named it - Precision- yes! I never connected the dots but indeed, it is a match for me - to respectfully be, or even want to be with, precisely how I am feeling - who I am in my being, in this moment ( without waiting, manipulating, wanting, or for the purpose of shifting it) feels like love to me. 💗

00:15 "if I am willing to feel the numbness of the other person... I respect the overwhelmed part of them... And this creates trust.
Together we can dissolve numbness, as we look at it as it is. I am not looking at what you can become in the future, but at what you are here and now."
03:28 I am not feeling the numbness or the fear for getting rid of it. I feel it, because this is the process happening right now... And that's love.

How does this correspond with the "witness" , the I am that sees but is not immersed in the experience? "I am a human being sad"?

I think it ist a great perspective for orange meme cultures. But often in green meme circles we're focussing on the feeling, the pain, the victim "behind" not seeing another layer of calculated manipulation and consciously hurting egos in order to get confirmation and prestige. I think that's whats destroying the world. We're ignoring the free will of our shadow-parts.
