Only a couple of weeks before I graduate, we got to make this happen. It warms my heart to see that the spirit of collaboration in us artists is unbreakable. When the crisis hits, we must do one thing, as Neil Gaiman said, “make good art”. This project was truly emotional to participate in on so many levels. Because we’re almost done, because we won’t see each other in person, because Itzhak Perlman and Yo-Yo Ma and Renée Fleming did this with us. And because these two years at The Juilliard School have been the time of my life. I’ll be watching this over and over and over again.
Well, all your efforts certainly paid off. This is one of the most moving things I've ever watched. I can't stop crying with the sheer joy, beauty, and breathtaking spirit of it. Bravo! Bravo! Bravo!
More than a year later and here we are. I revisit this amazing work of art often, and it always brings me joy. Thank you to everyone who had a part in it.
Christ almighty. I can't even speak. I am overwhelmed and engulfed in tears. This was the very first time that I actually, really got a sense of how this pandemic is affecting young artists. I have worked my entire life as a performer, having studied theater, dance and voice in college and beyond. I can't imagine not having this amazing outlet. It must be devastating. I am overwhelmed by the beauty of this video, yet I am floored, flabbergasted and overcome with emotion at the raw talent that exists in the world. I know we will get through this, but for right now, that was possibly one of the most beautiful things I've seen in a long, long time. Thank you.
Be prepared to let your fingers dance so you don't miss the extraordinary visual expression of love for the arts. Brilliant. Thank you to all that made this happen. You are beautiful in every way imaginable!
One of the things I love about this as well as seeing the dancers, is that I can now identify the instruments that make the music. Thankful to all these joint efforts by orchestras worldwide. This is wonderful.
This is soooo AMAZING! I majored in film studies at Iowa, so I can really appreciate the amount of work, time and patience it took to edit this together! I'm a former middle school trombonist and singer, midwestern mom of 4 boys trying to teach my two kindergarteners at home, and to bring a little of the arts into our homeschooling and this video brought me SO MUCH JOY! Thank you to every single artist who made this possible! I want to watch it every day for the rest of my life!!!
My Granddaughter is Sarah Pippin and she is amazing. But, she is only one of the amazing members of the class of 2020 at The Juilliard School. As Americans, we can only take pride in what our country can produce - our children, our teachers, our leaders and administrators. Some ask, who will carry on in the next generation? You have only to open your eyes because You see them here. Bravo! Bravo! Bravo!
As a fellow NYer and arts person, this made me weep with pride and joy. It encapsulates and elevates a wide swath of our shared experience right now. As we value art and artists, Juilliard and beyond, let us keep a companion focus on the very meek and very suffering among us. Arts help us do that, too. Bravi and thanks to all.
This sums up the greatness of The Arts, of creativity and collaboration, the expression of soul, mind, and heart. Bravo! Thank you to all the incredibly talented artists for uplifting us and allowing our better natures to prevail.
Holding the world together in love for art. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. And please never stop. You, the artists, create an understanding of the world. Thank you! Die Welt zusammenhalten in Liebe zur Kunst. Ich danke euch allen von ganzem Herzen. Und bitte neiemals aufhören. Ihr, die Künstler, kreiert ein Verständnis für die Welt. Danke!
oh my, everything is so bad and this hit me with such joy. its so easy to think of artists and performers as being from an unknown place - some Land Of Art - yet there you all are in your homes, that look just like mine or totally unlike mine but still places where we're all stuck alone. thank you so much.
Thanks to everyone for this pure JOY! It is what America is. I´ve seen it many times since April, but am going to make a point to watch it every day during these difficult days!
My most profound thanks, appreciation and awe. The talent and passion of all involved is palpable and it felt so good to move my own body along with the music. I sorely miss the energy of live artistic performances of which we usually have ample choice here in New Orleans. I am usually very physically active but after prolonged sheltering in place due to my health conditions, I am struggling to find the motivation to exercise at home. Which of course makes the despondence worse. I love to dance, and as soon as I heard the first bars I was on my feet. It felt so good to feel some kind of personal connection to the performance. I immediately thought, "I need to put this on every morning! THIS gets me moving joyfully!" I waste hours every day trying to overcome my fear and lonesomeness, and this wonderful gift is precisely what I needed.
Hey Andy, it's good to see you surface occasionally. N.O.L.A. Nighthawks - hope I can get up North sometime and sit in on one of the Bums at Fagan's tunes. Neal
In my sixth decade, nothing makes me more glad to be alive than to have the creative output of generations of humanity available at one's fingertips, and to see young people keeping that creative spirit alive. Bravo!
A beautiful and moving interpretation of Ravel's masterpiece executed by so many of Jilliard's students and alumni. Bolero is woven into a seamless and radical classic for our age. Many many thanks for bringing one of my favorites to life and a special thanks to WQXR for giving it a great plug!!!
Having been a participant in Bolero Suburbia and some creative processes for the upcoming Bolero Seniors I am so in love with this work! All of you have participated in something extraordinary and it will last for ever! Congrats and love to all. 😍
❤️❤️❤️This is ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS and brings tears to my eyes!! I am so so proud of Juilliard and so grateful that I studied at the school. This is bringing back so many memories! Great to see a few former classmates!! Great job guys!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🎵🎵🎵
This is fabulous! The BEST thing I have seen since this crazy time began. I am still dancing - at 69 years old - and your dedication, talent and love of life and movement and music are inspiring! The students, and the guest artists/faculty...all of it was brilliant! Thank you and best of luck to you all!
I got choked up--impossibly beautiful--I felt myself soar; art transcends us. Thank-you to all who put in extraordinary love to put this together 🙏🏽 😍 👏🏽 ☮️ 🌈
Wonderful! Thanks to all Julliard students and alumni who worked so hard to creat this masterpiece. Thanks for sharing with the world. Best of luck to all graduates.
Can't stop smiling while watching this; such a heartwarming and inspiring Bolero rendition! Thank you to everyone that contributed to making this gem and congrats to all soon-to-be graduates!
Just finished 1 hr of dancing in my house to your Bolero - my 13 yr old Beautiful Golden Retriever, Lance, loves it too....Thank you for this music - Love it...!! Stay well and good luck to all🦮🇺🇸🎶🎶
Best Bolero ever! Just beautiful. Thank you soooooo much. We'll get through this a bit more easily thanks all your hard work and creative expression. I feel absolutely rejuvenated. Much appreciated. Stay well and reasonably sane.
Brilliant. Just brilliant. Thank you, Juilliard School. Thank you for being the incubator for so many amazing world-class artists, especially the great prima donna assoluta, Leontyne Price.
THANK YOU! to everyone who worked on this--FANTASTIC! I LOVE IT! All I can say is, MORE, MORE, MORE!!!! Isn't it great how Bolero is reborn with technology, talents, and imagination, into a new & moving message... Extraordinary. I see Maurice's widening smile....
Younger people may not have seen the movie "10" back in the 80s (I think). It was my first introduction to "Bolero" and I've loved it ever since. Heard it performed at the Symphony once in Long Beach, CA. It was awesome. And this was just beautiful! Thank you to everyone who had a hand in it.
I look back from late 2021 and see how brave and simultaneously hopeful everyone was being. It’s a beautiful piece in the sense an old professor of mine used the word: pretty with underlying pain.
You came to me as a link named "Watch this." No one told me I was going to see one of the greatest films ever! :-O I hardly breathed....mouth open - Just WOW!
So, so great to see all those familiar faces! A couple thoughts: Way to go Kayla and Robby! (Hope I didn’t miss any of your ET colleagues!) Laura Linney: We are watching Ozark every night right now to *feel better* about life!! (Lol) Thanks to all the amazing Juilliard students, staff, teachers, and guests! Thanks, Larry, for a wonderful gift!
I have viewed, and “felt”, this production At Home Together multiple times since it was sent to me today. Each time it brings me to tears to see and hear such beauty, emotion and hopefulness expressed with music and movement. It is truly MARVELOUS! Thank you with my whole heart. Namaste
So inspiring. A beautiful homage to the arts, Juilliard, and all that amazing talent. To Julliard '20, toi toi toi, we all love you! Nothing will stop you ever! With happy tears from the mother of a graduating Bienen trombonist.
Bolero IS my favorite piece of music, it always can bring me to tears! But this takes me to a different place altogether, given the situation! #Tankyoujulliard
Bolero has been one of my favorite pieces of music since I first heard it on a 78 record 65 years ago. Way to go! I loved how some of music's best known musicians and actors were treated equally with students. Thank you.
Feeling a whirlwind of emotions right now! Brought laughter and tears to my eyes! Love you all at Juilliard!!!! Thank you for making this happen!!! ❤️🎻💃🎭🎊😂😭
Love it, always love watching, listening and dancing to bolero - you guys are the best….!!! Will probably dance to this again tomorrow night🦮Thank you😀🎶🦮🎶

It is beautiful...such a beautiful expression of humanity

The genius of Ravel has inspired a wonderful antidote for these times. Many thanks to everyone associated with this production -
