Keep denying the slope is slippery, don't be shocked when we've reached rock bottom Thank you for watching! What do YOU think is a realistic balance for CoD players and the shareholders to both be happy? Or, let's predict what great feature will be removed in the next one because it's too much work for a 74 billion dollar company!
(PS I know several studios work on CoD Games. Mother Goose is responsible for her gander so I say "Activision Blizzard" throughout, because pretending the studio-of-the-week that's working on the newest game has more power over the IP than Activision Blizzard is wild)

The best cod zombies for the consumer easily BO3 on steam. The workshop allows you to have basically an endless wave of new content made by the community, keeping the game alive, and on sale.
The one that's best for the consumer and shareholders is a cod that respect players, and doesn't take away so much, for the same price, and has a good story. Bo1 feels like the best balance, as it did have map packs, and the zombies expansion, but it also had a great story, with an overall simple premise on the surface.
Most people I've talked to speak highty of this golden era of cod. Cod4, b01, mw2, bo2.
The games could sell really well, and they were huge in their media presence.
We'll never see this side of cod, ever again.

ty for the video, it was honest and showed the problems of modern gaming but i don't have any sympathy for the COD,Battlefield, sports games and Destiny players they are mainly the reasons what we are getting today from the gaming companies, half assed, unfinished, buggy, lootbox filled trash games. all of those games can be dead and i wouldn't care tbh, i didn't buy a single cod, battlefield, fifa since decades ago and i stopped buying Destiny 2 expansions after the first one because wtf they turned the game into the Eververse simulator...
btw there is no realistic balance for players and these companies, their greed is sooooo high you can give them this entire planet and they will still ask for universe. this shit will never end unless gamers grows a pair of braincells and stop buying these kind of games.

@@NURDVEVO For Console, BO1-BO3 are great games all respectively for their zombies maps, for Multiplayer, it's BO1 and BO2, for zombies, it's interchangeable, and Campaign, again, most people just stick to BO1-BO2. On PC, however, BO3 is easily some of the best zombies, simply because of the workshop. If people wanted to, we could've already had a fully-fleshed out and functional Zombie Chronicles 2 (Tranzit, MoTD, Buried).
I've heard works of Tranzit being remade, entirely, but nothing much for Buried, MoTD, Die Rise

The removal of campaign, and the subsequent forced online crap just to shove a bunch of ads into the menu tanked any possibility of me ever buying a COD game ever again, unless they massively overhaul and change everything, which we know they won't.

I feel like gaming will become full circle and eventually we will go all the way back to pay per play like at the old arcade stores. You want to play a round in multiplayer? No worries, just 1 dollar for 3 lives. You're new to the game? Have a bonus 10 lives. Getting kills will get you more lives which incentivises you to play more. Run out of lives before the games over? No worries for just 50cents, you can get get another 3 lives to help your team win.

    • @superbnns

@TheKingerd I think so too. There's enough fresh gamers coming in to the market every year to perpetuate this cycle. They get in on the hype and/or pulled in by friends, and by the time they realize what their money is actually getting them it's already in the hands of the company. Any backlash from burnt customers is then replaced by next year's graduating class, and we repeat. It's a playbook that's worked for over a decade with no real end in sight. Especially now with how normalized battle passes are now.

I remember when Black Ops 4 came out they PROMISED, SWORE TO GOD, that there are going to be no lootboxes, because of the backlash they gained since recent previous entries had certain weapons locked behind a lootbox gacha system. They did the scummiest move ever - they released the game without any lootboxes, waited for the reviews to kick in, got their praise and good reviews, THEN ADDED THE LOOTBOX SYSTEM. And now we're at the point where they're selling unfinished games for $70, not localizing the prices to poor countries and abandoning all of their titles a year after release, when they put out a new game. You honestly have to be the definition of naive to buy COD games.

In black ops 2 you only had one map with the base game, if you bought the separate zombies mode for pc, and for just all the maps it cost more than the base game which is campaign+zombies+multiplayer. So to just play more than one map your paying over 70$

I actually gave up on CoD during the original MW2. I knew that the game was at its peak in terms of how good it felt all around, and when I realized that Treyarch and Infinityward had no intention of actually supporting a game long term and If I wanted to play with my friends, I had to spend another $60 every year for practically the same experience, that was when I decided I was all set. In that time frame since, I would have had to spend $850+ on base games just to stay concurrent with the franchise. Its absurd.

1:17 i am of the opinion that if the game is not an mmo. then it has no business being over 200 gigabytes or even 100 gigabytes.
the games files must've not been compressed, causing the bloat in file size.
the kinds of files that tend to be the culprit are texture and sound files.
    compression exists for these
use jpg for textures that dont have an alpha channel!
use ogg for all sound files!
and watch the games size dive down to more reasonable levels!
as long as the textures resolution is at least 1024/1024 or 2048/2048.
no one will notice the compression unless they zoom in really really close.
i hate how just because terabyte drives exist game companies just did away with compression
with the excuse of. wElL wE gOt DrIvEs ThAt HoLd MoRe DaTa.
but that means you'd have to uninstall a game just to play another one!
and you'd have to do that again and again an again over and over
because they are too damn lazy to compress their files!
this rant is brought to by someone that hates bloated games!

    • @TheKingerd

Something else to note is the value of the special editions of the games went down significantly aswell. Back in the day when you bought the hardened edition you got a lot of physical things and digital content but they've scrapped that too. Modern warfare 2019 was the last cod game to give you more than just the steelbook. Now you're lucky to even get the steelbook. Cold war and vanguard didn't even have a steelbook. The old games put so much effort into the special editions of the games like how world at war gave you a flask or MW3 had all this classified documentation and photos of Price and his squad. Hell even advanced warfare gave you a god damn atlas themed hard cover manual. It's sad to see how far they've fallen.

It's unfortunate that the big publishers have realised they have left boat loads of value on the table, it surprises me they didn't extract it quicker. However the future is bright whilst our beloved franchises are decaying AI will go some way to help smaller developers with less budget make expansive and engaging games but even then solid narratives and experiences in single player will become rarer overall. Buy the gems from smaller studios, torrent big budget shovelware and avoid live service like the cancer it is.

I saw their downward trend for the original MW2. I got mad b/c they had broken elements of their game but were then demanding i pay money for a map pack. Then i was basically locked out of multiplayer b/c i didn't buy the new maps and matchmaking had them every where...so when i tried to join, i was kicked out b/c i didn't have new maps. I never bought another CoD game after that. BF4 was the last game i preordered b/c it launched in such a terrible state, that i refuse to give companies money if they couldn't do better than that. I refuse to buy a game if it doesn't have campaign and/or coop as an option...so basically i haven't bought very many new games. My steam library is filled with games like FarmSim, Green Hell, Eve Online and Elden ring. I hoped more gamers would do the same, and some are starting to do that now, but games are marketed to kids now who don't know they are getting robbed blind b/c these types of games are all they know. For older gamers like myself, we grew up with games that were sold as complete games but someone who is 10 years old now grew up with pay walls, incomplete games, paid cosmetics, loot crates, etc. So I don't think we'll see games like we used to, b/c kids today will keep buying new trash simply out of ignorance.

Yeah, I used to be a big COD fan but noped out around MW3 days (the original). It's hard to overstate to the young folks how insane/amazing the first Modern Warfare was at the time. I won't explain because there are plenty of great videos about it... Ever since then, every game (even the relatively good ones) has essentially been a carbon copy of the first modern warfare. Except now they're so stuffed with bad monetization, lazy and short development cycles etc. Madden and COD players who shell out every year for the same game, pay tons in microtransactions, then eagerly await next product have essentially ruined gaming... I'm not blaming you necessarily, you may not have known better... But please, stop buying these games. Or if you can't do that, at LEAST stop preordering and buying stupid microtransactions. I beg you. For all of us.

Once a new COD came out the DLC maps were basically dead in matchmaking. The zombie maps were worth it though since it could all be experienced solo or with friends.
