I'm all for second chances but I also believe these studios have to earn their benefits of the doubt. imo CDPR has far from earned that, and it's mind boggling how quick people look past the scummy practice/principles and ONLY focus on the product that was finally "fixed" to perform at its bare minimum capacity
@@TheKingerdi hate to disagree, but to me CDPR is almost there to finally redeem themselves, yes CP77 was a mess at launch, but it isn't a mess now an neither CDPR left the game to be fixed by modders like Toad does, all CDPR needs to do is make a good launch of Phantom Liberty, and then i can forgive them, not forget, but forgive. I think a good game worth pre-ordering right now is Dragon's Dogma 2 and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. I highly doubt these games would launch with such game breaking bugs and glitches that would significantly hinder a player's experience.
The team that works on FFXIV always says something along the lines of "We're working on including _______ and if we can implement it, we'll update you all on when that will be added so stay tuned." Because of this, if they can't include something, they tell us they made the effort and it wasn't possible or that they're taking longer to test it out than anticipated. The players are usually cool about it because they never promised it. They said they'd make an effort and whether they did or not, we weren't deceived.
I've heard that's a really good FF game even though it's online but because it's online I've also heard that the community is bad AND the opposite. I can't know for sure until I decide to dive into it soon but that doesn't sound encouraging for an online game.
We get the games we deserve. If people stopped giving these companies their money (or more accurately, mommy's and daddy's money), they would change. Since they don't, they won't. Simple. I'm still using a 14 year old first-gen i7 because there's not a single AAA game released in the last decade I feel like playing. The smaller, independent games I do enjoy, like Rimworld and Project Zomboid, run just fine on my machine. The fact that my computer is older than most of the people commenting here is probably why companies like EA and Blizzard will never change. Why should they?

I’ve never really seen it brought up, but for the mw19 release they had a couple of the lead team members on stage talking about the game (this is still prerelease time mind you) and they had explicitly stated “there will NOT be a battle royale game mode”. After releasing and waiting a few months warzone was released. Just something I remembered that was a real slap to the face. Also never preorder. preorders may seem like it can have good intentions, like helping fund the studio making the game and allow for more to be added last minute, etc etc. however it could also lead to a studio essentially taking the money and running, if they make a lot of money from preorders then why bother finishing the game. There is less incentive to actually make a finished product. Yes more time and energy has to go into a lot of games today than in the past, a lot of games today are massive in scale compared to predecessors, but game studios and publishers should try not giving themselves an unreasonable deadline to start with. Just a thought
I don't remember that, that's odd. I wonder if it's because they had their teams separate? Idk my hot take i think warzone is killing the CoD franchise. Or maybe that isn't even a hot take.
@@TheKingerd honestly I can’t find any recording of the event they were doing when they explicitly talked about battle royales in general before saying they were not going to have a battle royale in the game. I remember though, everyone I know who had watched it remembers it, if there was any evidence then it was probably shoved under the rug. I agree that warzone is detrimental, more resources seem to be pulled away from the campaign which should be the primate selling point of these games (atleast that’s what they used to be). However the problem stems far deeper to excessive micro transactions, slowly devolving away from a mil-sim and into a terrible sandbox where people run around in 20+ dollar costumes with a weapon camo that cost god knows how much (that nobody can really see unless someone who is clinically insane chooses to watch a kill cam). Also battle pass systems which are abusive to their player base, essentially in order to unlock stuff from a 20 dollar waist of money, you have to almost exclusively play their game, grinding battle pass xp. Less time can be spent playing all the other games one may own, not to mention if someone is busy with touching grass then they may not have time to grind. Essentially it’s abusive in the sense that if you don’t waist your life, you can get the full value of the 20 dollar pass, like a parent holding a Lollipop over their child’s head and forcing them to keep jumping until they reach it, and if they don’t get it in x amount of time, then they lose it forever. Lol. You should totally make a "we chose our words carefully" video. I could sense you were holding back on making this twice as long just laying into Bethesda. Also- Happy birthday, Kylo. 😁
finally " explaining and justifying" are not the same thing. "es gibt einen unterschied zwischen Erklärung und Rechtfertigung" . thats how we say in my language. thx man thx.
Happy belated birthday Kylo! I also liked the video and subbed so obviously Kylo is owed 3 belly rubs or else. Great video by the way you deserve waaay more subs and I’ll be here watching it happen!
8:05 "Its clear we cant deliver on that original vision for PvE" And why is it clear? why cant you tell us why you cant deliver the original vision? there are only 2 options here. Either YOU, the devs, are bad at doing your jobs, aka making video games. (which many people don't like to hear, but honestly sometimes its the truth) Or its because you cant deliver on it because higher-ups and trade holders want you to solely focus on what earns them the most money. (aka micro-transactions) just tell us how it is instead of just tip-toeing around it by saying shit like this! we want transparency...
I like the conversations you start and the implications for the gaming industry but I’m more of a talker than I am a writer, so I’ll just have to stick with the happy birthday Kylo.
I'm one to those people that gets annoyed at people telling me how to spend my money so thanks for coddling my wee lil feelings. Jokes aside, it's crazy to me how many people preorder then get upset that it's unfinished. Like bruh you already bought an unfinished product, of course they robbed you blind. Is it so hard to just put the 60 bucks into your savings account and leave it there for a year? Maybe take it out in cash and put it in a place you'll forget about it then set an event on your calendar app to remind you to grab it a few days before release? The possibilities are endless when it comes to this. I promise you the extra stupid skin or voicelines or whatever aren't worth it.
It took a second watch to realize you weren't just repeating the usual "don't pre-order" at the end, but specifying not to buy games until they prove to have the content promised. The former implies the latter, but I hadn't considered the dull masses might not be putting 2 and 2 together.
Good take. Sometimes these points overlap and I’m sure it’ll happen again in a future video, I’ll keep it in mind to make sure the points are distinctly worded
mighty number 9 promised that the main character could take over enemy skills znd transform, but the moment backing ended they changed their minds and made it a bog standard megaman clone.
I’m extremely angry at how Starfield is being given a pass by players. It made many hyperbolic promises, but nowadays you get players telling other players: “what did you expect, it’s a Bethesda game?” Critics are being shouted down for having “unreasonable” expectations. But Todd Howard DID promise an in-depth exploration-focused game. Bethesda DID promise fully explorable planets. I don’t mind people enjoying the experience as it is, but why do we have to face other players when trying to call out companies on their lies? How and why did consumers agreed to be part of the hype and over-marketing machine of big corporations?
I enjoy the game as it is but I’m also surprised at the mental acrobatics happening to defend their marketing of the game. Expect some commentary on that in a future video that I’m sure will make plenty of people upset
The thing about mw2 leak is..... if you looked at steam reviews, they were very negative, and the only reason people, including myself, bought mw2, was because of the 2 year game cycle making us feel more inclined towards purchasing it for $70, as the game is barely worth $30. Activision 100% saw people saying they believed the game was a 2 year cycle and chose NOT to clear anything up. 1/3 steam reviews were talking about the 2 year cycle. You're telling me they somehow did not know?
Some of my favorite video game franchises ever are _Five Nights at Freddy's_ and _The Touhou Project_ - hell of a genre span, I know, but the thing that ties these two totally different franchises together better than Arnold Schwarzenegger and Carl Weathers despite their glaring differences and lack of connections is their development history. They were both developed by one guy each at the start of their career (Scott Cawthon for FNaF and Jun'ya "ZUN" Ota for Touhou) but blew up in popularity over the years, when they both started out as low-budget video games slapped together. ZUN originally created Touhou just for fun (even being quoted as saying that the first five Touhou games are just something that he would have liked to play, but they didn't exist, so he made them himself), and Scott created FNaF as a last-ditch attempt at a successful game before getting a more normal job. However, despite the fact that they both basically run a media empire solo now, they are still putting out good games, and even let fans make their own stuff, to the point that if given the green light, fans are allowed to sell their own content for actual money on stores like Steam and the Switch eshop. They've even occasionally helped fan creators with certain things on their fangames. I've always wondered if the reason that these franchises still are so consumer-friendly as well as still delivering good games themselves minus only a few exceptions, (which is unfortunate, but is expected, nobody is perfect and any company ever is bound to misstep occasionally) is because they were both once at the bottom of the totem pole of video game development like any other gamer, and understand and know a lot of what their fans are wanting and asking for. They might have resisted the urge to succumb to corporate greed because they both may have been subjected to it before developing their own games. Edit: corrected grammar mistakes
At lease we have Resident Evil 4 Remake, Red Dead 2, The Last of Us, Jedi: Fallen Order and Survivor, Spider-Man, God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West, Alan Wake, Assassins Creed Black Flag, Batman Arkham, and Baldur's Gate.
about No Man's Sky - it delievered on almost all primices they made before release, and added SO MUCH MORE than was never promiced. Probably the only big feature that they never delivered is the "warring factions" there are pirate attacks instead. Which recently have gotten pretty epic with the addition of the Pirate dreadnaut. It's the kind of boss battle people have been asking for and it's absolutely amazing.
the reason i spent so much time playing mw2 was because i was under the impression they'd be releasing the original maps (that mw3 did) but that id still have access to all my guns and unlocks, so i unlocked everything and put the game down waiting for those maps to return only to find out i only played mw2 to waste my time, because i wouldnt have played so much or bought the few packs i bought if i knew those maps were maps were never coming, the maps mw2 did have SUCKED and i had to play the gamemode with only 1 or 2 maps (smallest maps)
@noahdude628 deducing from the fact that a comment was left, it could be the case that the commentor found the subject important but wanted to give the creator feedback. But... like... that's problematic, dude. I only hope that these creators manage to produce such compelling and/or important content that they attract a far-reaching audience, who might give the creator valuable information on how the lacking point in their creations are seen.
@TheKingerd For me the very fast and continuous cuts (between face cam, articles, memes, gameplay, cartoon) are disorienting. To me these choices in this voluminous manner made it much more difficult to hear your points and to appreciate all the effort you made (the writing, research, pov) and unfortunately detracted from the whole. I know this is a style of editing and as such, a type of communication, but for me it was a bit excessive. Either way, I subscribed and can't wait to see what you tackle next. Much appreciated and I wish you all the best!
After finding out about the Skeletons in Act Man's Closet this is a refreshing channel to find as I move on. Don't fly too close to the sun my guy, remain humble, don't sell yourself out and you will go far. Your Grasp on editing & thought process is solid, you have serious potential. Def good content to put on the 2nd screen while doing stuff.
The devs for Overwatch 2 aren't lying, its Bobby Kotick forcing them to *EDIT* I typed this cuz the thumbnail pissed me off, but im so grateful you clarified the truth
Doing bad that good my come of it does not change the nature of the act committed. Lying because you fear losing your job or any other type of repercussion does not suddenly make a lie not a lie. It does, however, mean the people in question put self preservation over what is good, true, and beautiful.
I love the part where you said to take what the devs said ONLY and not try to extrapolate on it. That's been a major problem with games recently. I was cautiously optimistic for Final Fantasy XVI and in the weeks leading up to its launch I found myself in the r/FFXVI subreddit reading threads. SO MANY of them had people endlessly speculating on things that had no chance of being in the game. - You play a Joshua for like 2 minutes in the demo. "Guys that means we'll be able to play as multiple characters!" No, it was literally a one time sequence and unless it's tucked away in a side-quest, you are Clive for the other 99.9% of the game. - "There's two eikons of fire, so every element is gonna have two eikons!" No, they literally never explain why this is and no other eikon has an elemental twin. - "There's gonna be multiple open zones to explore!" They are basically passageways with some spots to run around in - there is virtually no incentive to explore.
Yep. People get excited and carried away and the next thing you know the playerbase has an extremely off idea of what the game is going to be and that isn't fair to the dev teams

finally " explaining and justifying" are not the same thing. "es gibt einen unterschied zwischen Erklärung und Rechtfertigung" . thats how we say in my language. thx man thx.
Happy birthday kylo!
Happy birthday sweetest kylo!
Awesome video, thank god and my lack of funds I’ve not been in a situation like this yet 😅
Commenting for the algorithm
Happy birthday Kylo!
Cool videos, subbed.
Thank you, welcome!!
Happy belated birthday Kylo! I also liked the video and subbed so obviously Kylo is owed 3 belly rubs or else.
Great video by the way you deserve waaay more subs and I’ll be here watching it happen!
As a fan of Bethesda games (not all of them, many of them) I can say that Starfield is a game and also the pinnacle of Bethesda´s mediocrity, so far.
Happy birthday Kylo!🥳
Only you can start fortest fires
hahahaha "start". That got me
8:05 "Its clear we cant deliver on that original vision for PvE"
And why is it clear? why cant you tell us why you cant deliver the original vision?
there are only 2 options here.
Either YOU, the devs, are bad at doing your jobs, aka making video games. (which many people don't like to hear, but honestly sometimes its the truth)
Or its because you cant deliver on it because higher-ups and trade holders want you to solely focus on what earns them the most money. (aka micro-transactions)
just tell us how it is instead of just tip-toeing around it by saying shit like this! we want transparency...
If the guy asking questions had a pair he would’ve asked “can’t or won’t???”
Happy Birthday Kylo 🥳
Underrated youtuber
Thx friend
Yoo happy bday 🎉🎉 kylo
A comment was requested and so it is given 👍🏽
Thx friend 🤝
There's no reason to pre order a game and nothing will change my mind
Also happy birthday Kylo 🎉
Two statements that get two thumbs up 👍🏻👍🏻
love your channel king you dropped this 👑
Thank you friend 🤙🏻
12:39 of course the internet shills the good old "leave my favorite multi million dollar company alone" 😂😂😂
They should seriously ban microtransactions and ads in games, its gotten way over hand.
Happy birthday Kylo!
Damn it what monster doesn't want to help a dog get a extra belly rub. Happy birthday pup.
😂😂😂 THATS the spirit
I like the conversations you start and the implications for the gaming industry but I’m more of a talker than I am a writer, so I’ll just have to stick with the happy birthday Kylo.
He may not be able to read this comment but he sure enjoyed the belly rub
Happy birthday, Kylo!
I almost started crying when Avengers came up 😂I don’t understand these emotions I feel rn😅.
Last game I ever did and will pre order. Should’ve been outstanding.
Happy birthday kylo
You had me in the first half, not gonna lie
Its not their money, they pay in advance so later they buy st else, these are kids we talking bout
Happy birthday, Kylo.
Happy birthday kylo
mighty number 9 promised that the main character could take over enemy skills znd transform, but the moment backing ended they changed their minds and made it a bog standard megaman clone.
Where did you get your dogs name from? Is he Kylo as in Kylo ren
Yep. I knew I was naming a dog Kylo the first time I heard that name
kylo for president
Happy birthday Kylo!
Also from a Halo fan, fck 434. Have a great day everyone, except 343 employees.
Happy Birthday Kylo!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY KYLO 🎉🎉🎉
Belly rubs inbound
Game Freak should be on this list with all their lies about Sword & Shield.
And don't forget SV!
Commenting in the name of Kylo
blessed be his name
Happy birthday Kylo. Give him extra belly rubs, even though I'm four months late
Or as it is known in the industry, pulling a Molyneux.
Happy Birthday Kylo
Happy birthday Kylo !
This style of editing is so strenuous to watch.
Then.. don't watch it? Like, it's your choice buddy.
I do appreciate feedback! What kind of style do you mean and what makes it strenuous to you?
@TheKingerd For me the very fast and continuous cuts (between face cam, articles, memes, gameplay, cartoon) are disorienting. To me these choices in this voluminous manner made it much more difficult to hear your points and to appreciate all the effort you made (the writing, research, pov) and unfortunately detracted from the whole. I know this is a style of editing and as such, a type of communication, but for me it was a bit excessive. Either way, I subscribed and can't wait to see what you tackle next. Much appreciated and I wish you all the best!
Thank you for the feedback! I actually had this comment in mind when editing my latest Halo video, I hope I made it a bit easier to follow
Happy birthday kyo
Happy birthday Kylo!
Happy birthday Kylo 🎉
No tod Howard cameo?
After finding out about the Skeletons in Act Man's Closet this is a refreshing channel to find as I move on. Don't fly too close to the sun my guy, remain humble, don't sell yourself out and you will go far. Your Grasp on editing & thought process is solid, you have serious potential. Def good content to put on the 2nd screen while doing stuff.
skeletons in act mans closet? explain?
Thank you, I’ll do my best! What do you mean by skeletons in his closet?
The devs for Overwatch 2 aren't lying, its Bobby Kotick forcing them to
*EDIT* I typed this cuz the thumbnail pissed me off, but im so grateful you clarified the truth
Doing bad that good my come of it does not change the nature of the act committed.
Lying because you fear losing your job or any other type of repercussion does not suddenly make a lie not a lie. It does, however, mean the people in question put self preservation over what is good, true, and beautiful.
Happy birthday kylo. He needs those belly rubs if we get 1000 ill say we did our job
Happy birth kylo
