Checking Wheat Berries After 5 Years of Storage

  • Opened a mylar bag of wheat berries we put up in 2017 to see how they are holding up. Would hate to get to a point of needing them and finding out I did this all wrong. They turned out fine- looked and smelled as fresh as the day they were delivered. Watch for my video on how I stored them.

Archaeologists found wheat in Egypt from the time of Joseph and they made bread out of it and it was perfect and delicious.

Time and energy will be limited, if the fan is hit, I would plant field corn in one of my fields. Just would have to make sure the seed is not GMO. Old fashioned seed is availaqble and if I start to worry big time I will order 100 pounds of seed corn. It will feed the chickens, pigs , worms and make corn meal

Oh my gosh yall I have just been doing a lot of research on which plastic buckets are safe to store food in and I found a website that tells you what all the numbers mean and which ones are safe. And guess what? LIES!! The blue plastic buckets and lids they sell for cheap at Lowe’s has the same numbers as the ones that are more expensive for food grade!😱😱😱😱. I’m gob smacked!. The white one is labeled for food grade and the blue one doesn’t say anything but it’s right there on the bucket! That’s three extra dollars per bucket a difference.
