Harvesting Garlic

This is a short video on harvesting garlic. The seed I used were cloves from garlic I grew last year. I planted mid October, used soakers and mulch. I watered a lot in the spring because it was so dry. I was happy to get as big a crop as I did because of the dryness. I'll lay these on a tarp in the back of my Gater and cover at night because of the dew. After a couple of weeks, I'll hang on a b...

I'm 80 years old. I never farmed but have lived on acreage for the past 70 years. Always had a garden. I live on 67 acres now in a farming community. I hope to share some of the things I've learned over the years. never throw things away. We used to raise rabbits for meat and when we stopped I kept the cages, because you never know. I do some things and think some things that people may disagree with. If SHTF and you still have water, after a few years you may need a new toilet seat. I have to new ones in my basement that were bought on sale. Home Depot may be gone. have a lot of canning jars but would like 5000 if things get really bad. Farm sales and garage sales for those. Hope I haven't scared you off, your comment made me feel good. I will answer questions too.

Time and energy will be limited, if the fan is hit, I would plant field corn in one of my fields. Just would have to make sure the seed is not GMO. Old fashioned seed is availaqble and if I start to worry big time I will order 100 pounds of seed corn. It will feed the chickens, pigs , worms and make corn meal
