I ride. I've been riding for over 45 years. That choppers spotlight was definitely helping that biker because at that speed he was going he was outrunning his headlight.

Out running your headlight refers to the loss of reaction time between an object appearing in the headlight and your ability to react in time to avoid it. the faster you go the less time you have to react. The chopper was giving him more light farther ahead than his headlight could provide given his speed.

That’s one of the best question I see here, and I got to admit , it’s seems really genuine to ask, because in my opinion he doesn’t seems to try hard, I think he’s aware of it, and yes he flee but now his brains is going way faster than the bike, and seen the chopper lightings him and the roads ahead, he finally acknowledged that he won’t be able to loose the chopper so he searching in his minds some way to get out of this but..... !!!??? ,
Firstly the gas tank on a sportbike is not big, and wide open it can drink gas has a alcoholic drinks beers, so he would be lucky if the chopper happens to need fuels before him, and the only way to loose a chopper that I knew was to go in an airports zoned, their the chopper can’t do what he wants because to many planes some arriving others departing and from the 4 corners so the chopper can’t enter that zones that’s where you need to loose it and fast and hide for a long time, but I’m not even sure it still works today’s, I know it worked before in the end of 90’s beginning of the 2000’s . Anyway I think he’s just keeping It steady because he knows it’s about to end.😂😂 can’t work every times.

@@JohnJohn-cu7nk unless your talking about a video of Guy Martin that says how to outrun a chopper with a motorcycle, I would like to see how you can escape a chopper ?, the only way would be for the chopper to have to stop for gas, other than that you need to go 350 km/h and to hold it for a long time , other than that I don’t believe you , the best way would be like you said to hide , but once the chopper focus on the bike , your chance are extremely low

@@JohnJohn-cu7nk i don’t know about you but I’m 54 and I’ve rides, raced, and Did stunts , all in all for 35 years, so I have a bit of experience, and believe me , you can’t exactly preps your bike for a cops pursuit, and most of the time when it happened your bike is not full of gas and everything,
I can even say that most of the time , that’s when something gonna breaks or something weird will happened, and the fact that the chopper may not have the top speed to exactly follow the bike , he doesn’t have any traffics, and he don’t have to slow down for anything corners included, and he just have to go higher he will kinda always see you, seriously it’s doable, but you have about the same odds as to won the lottery, let’s say it way easier to loose a plane because he can’t do tight corners so if you watch him closely as you go, at a point you will end up in his blind sights then you need to hurry and hides, but like I say unless your bike happens to be full and the chopper almost empty , the odds are literally against you , and I happened to get caught 1 time and believe me, with the $$$$$$$$ you’ll loose and the amounts of problems it will bring you, your gonna think twice the next time, and if a situation against a chopper happen another time, unless you are 100% garantee of getting away, you won’t try it again, I’m just speaking has experience , if it can save someone all the troubles it will bring you, it’s worth it, now it’s not worth it to try it, because every single person’s have a phone cell’s with photos and videos, and more and more peoples have a camera on their dash recording everything , back then we use to do this when we feel bored, nothing to do.... hey let’s go play with the cops 😂😂😂😂😂 but that time is over

When commentators have never ridden a sport bike and know Jack all about them.
150mph is cruising speed for some of these bikes (not even stressing, they can just run that all day with no problems). A lot of these bikes were built for race tracks and dumbed down slightly to where consumers wouldn’t die in the parking lot before they left the lot.
Also; backpacks are what motorcycle folks use as a ‘trunk’ (especially if we don’t have saddlebags). I used to commute with my laptop for work, my martial arts gear for after work, and I could even pick up groceries on my way home as long as I had it… you don’t have a backpack, you are kinda limited to what you can strap to the back of the bike and what fits in your pockets. So it’s kind of regular gear for most riders who aren’t on a pleasure cruise or a huge bike with storage bins all over it.
Aside from the backpack, is that a motorcycle he is riding? He really knows how to ride one. You can really tell it’s going fast because he has CHP behind him.

Nothing beats the Isle of Man TT Races with riders on bikes racing on normal roads at speeds of up to 180 MPH through tiny villages. The fastest part of the course is over the mountain part of the 37 mile long course. I once knew someone who flew over the mountain part of the course during practice week in a single engine light aircraft. The TT Race is a two week event, practice week followed by race week. Some of the more experienced riders were travelling faster than the aircraft was over this part of the course.
Its better than MotoGP......and thats saying something!!

Driving straight at high speeds is NOT an indicator that the rider has great motorcycle skills. Bikes are DESIGNED to be STABLE at high speeds.
The real test of a biker's skills is slow speed, tight turns and other slow speed maneuvers where the effects of gravity come into play. SO - the reporter does not know of what he speaks.

I know that it seems crazy but if you ride street bikes it's not the high end bikes are literally race machines on the street and make over 200hp to the wheel in a lot if cases. And im talking factory stock. But like all of my bikes were modded before I took them home.
I love how clueless the reporters are. It looks like an off-road bike. It can go 200 miles on a tank. My r1 got at best 12mpg at 150mph. I was filling the tank almost every day.
Every statistic they gave was based on using a Prius as a benchmark.

Back when I was 18 and I first started cruising on faster bikes that were 1000cc+ my buddy and I were both riding his bikes (he owned a major nightclub in Ybor City in Tampa, Florida) and he had quite a few fast bikes and a brand new Dodge Viper GTS. Anyway, we were riding down I-4 towards St Pete at about 3AM and we were both winding our bikes out. I was riding his Ducati 1200RR and he was on a brand new Huyabusa 1300 and we were both up around 180 MPH with very little traffic. Some guy FLEW past us, it actually made us both shake slightly, and we tried to chase him, but he was doing 200+ (which is CRAZY). Off in the distance we saw a bunch of sparks and fire, so we knew that he wrecked. He rear ended an older Cadillac and well, he was killed. After that I was shaking the entire was back to my buddy's house. I never really sped excessively on a motor cycle again. I was so shaken that I sold my bike and I didn't ride a bike at all for a few years.
I rode bikes on mountain roads enjoying leaning into long curves at high speed 85, not the speeds you did on highways. Had a close call & was shaken. Took it back to my Father & that was the last time on a bike. Just too dangerous.

This seems really unnecessary for an initial "failure to yield". Sometimes, you just need to let it go, cops. It's not worth this guy getting killed, other people getting killed, or a cop going out of control at those speeds.

Recently some jurisdictions (led by very liberal politics, by the way) have instructed officers to stop pursuing for a whole range of moving violations. The result is that, once people in the area learned of this, those violations are now occurring at a vastly higher rate since drivers know they can break the law with impunity. So, the "unintended consequence" is an INCREASE in hazards and danger to the populace.
OR the rider could have behaved like an adult and not risked his life and the lives of others.
If this guy is willing to go 140 mph on a freeway to allude the CHP, you can be sure this ain't the first time he's put the public in danger with his stupidity. Better to weed him out NOW.

@Mike Jackson that isn’t totally true most cops I know and I’m one my self wounding do this.. young guys will but I will not chase motorcycles period because in my younger days I did the kid was 23 didn’t have a license and basically out past dark so he ran... well I chased him and he crashed and 2 little girls lost their dad that night over something stupid and to be honest if he stopped I wouldn’t have wrote him a ticket anyways... so it was all for nothing and since then I won’t do it not over anything stupid like a traffic violation it’s not worth the risk to me or how it effects not just the person but unfortunately these people have innocent people around them it affects more .

Where I worked at the time we didn’t have a no chase policy so we could but I made my view clear I’m not killing someone or myself for a 20 yr old not wanting to get a ticket. I personally think chasing someone is almost always not worth it.... now you have a guy that just has shot random people on the freeway you have to stop thatbperson at all cost. But other then that I don’t know really any other reason to do so... to many people die this way and it’s not worth it. But you have some officers that take things way to personal and can’t let it go because they feel it’s personal to them. Just my 2 cents

Back in 85 I bought a V65 Honda at the time it was advertised as the fastest street bike. The fastest i ever went on it was 140 mph. 140mph was the last reading I was able to get after that I was not able to take my eyes of the road.
Was it a Magna, or a Saber? Just curious. I think the saber was ugly, but I've heard they handle a lot better.

I had two magnas, at 130 my eyes would start tearing and at 140 my eyelids would start vibrating or something so that things would get blurry slightly. I never saw 150 there never seemed to be enough room.
'05 cbr 1000rr. had it up to 176mph in 6th at 10,500 rpm still had more but i was just having fun. never ran it to its top speed.
One way to lose a Helicopter is Drive to the nearest Air Port 🤔 They aren't allowed to fly over there.

This guy did a better job than the other motorcycle chase that I saw years ago where the driver had to pull over because he chose to punch the mirrors of cars on the freeway. Must have hurt himself or herself.

I don't ask enough, or get involved in other people's personal life to make sure my assumptions are correct. I just assume that because I have stress I can handle, everyone else has stress that they can handle too. But times are getting pretty bad right now. That happened to me and a couple friends while doing a high rate of speed on the highway on our bikes and a big bright light came upon us. I thought it was an alien ship coming to abduct us 🏍🚶♂️👽🛸, but it was a police helicopter. We slowed way down and it turned around and went away. I think we did the speed limit the rest of our way home.

This isn’t fast at all!!! This is normal to the shops speed here in Germany..
It’s extremely fast for our dilapidated highway system. Our vehicles and roadways here don’t even come close to being maintained to German standards so that’s why it’s unwise to be traveling at that speed. There isn’t any kind of equivalent to tüv either so you can drive whatever broken down, piece of crap car or motorcycle you desire.

@@meikel1492 I agree with you! My comment is based on the second you see a cop, or see sirens. Most of the time its a patrol car who notifies a chopper but if you can take immediate action once spotted by a car there is a very strong chance you'll be successful

The trick is: Get away and HIDE the car. Chp choper will have a hard time finding you. Better yet, ditch the car, make it looked like it was parked and hide where there is no witnesses.
But once chp has spotted you. Your gonna find yourself running on the highway for a good amount of time until they get your number on your plate, or attempt to stop you.
