Pep wanted someone who can play out the back so it would have never worked
He was a very good shot-stopper for City but unfortunately for Joe he had a stinker at the Euro’s the same summer that Pep came to City and his new manager would’ve seen those performances. On top of that, Joe just isn’t a very good footballer with his feet or even cool-headed. And those are vital components that Pep expects from his goalkeepers as they’re the ones starting the teams buildup play. Look at both Ederson and Ortega for examples. Two very good goalkeepers who are naturally very calm-mannered with excellent passing abilities and off the ball movement.
If he stayed it would be like what is happening with De Gea right now

Underrated Player, even as a LFC fan, Hart was class, even some new City fans won't know how good he was. Sure, with all due respect, he isn't at the highest level, but he was class. A solid keeper, and as a fan, that is all you could ask for.
Great keeper, went down hill really fast though. Shame really.
Other than when he’s literally chucking the ball in his own net. Absolute disaster of a keeper. Not top level by any means. Couple of good saves here and there but he’s guaranteed to give away goals

After Seaman ,England struggled hard finding a solid #1, it seemed like as soon as one made a mistake they ousted them for the next and so on and so on, I find the English media are extremely harsh on the team and players and manager when there’s a loss or mistake,

I thought Pickford was going to be a liability for England, but he's done very well for years now. He was England's best player at the last Euros. Made many world class saves.

Joe has made some important saves to help us achieve that. Is he perfect? Absolutely not!! But the team has definitely benefited from his experience. Or would you rather bain between the sticks??

Apology 😂 He was treated very well unfortunately he wasn't fit for purpose under pep - who always references him as a gentleman and extremely vital player for city evolving into a winning team.
IMO He's the best goalkeeper in one on one situations.
Four Golden Gloves, to point that in context no one has five, shows what a top quality keeper he was at Man City and took City to sign Ederson before they found a suitable replacement. I assume it was a personality issue.
Worked perfect under Mancini while at City, then Pellegrini came in and he lost that strong defence in front of him and his form went wobbly, earned his place back, but unfortunately he could never have adapted to Pep's play from the back style. Still, 4 golden gloves shows how mean the defensive unit he was part of was.

Manchester City got a goalkeeper to list alongside Trautmann, Corrigan, Williams and Ederson Moraes... for a reported £600,000 from Shrewsbury Town (2006) It turns out that the real fee for Joe Hart to MCFC was just £100,000 and that makes him just about the biggest bargain in history! Joe Hart will always be welcome at City. Pep just wanted a keeper that plays with his feet, it was nothing against Joe.

- Won Premier League 2x
- Won FA Cup 1x
- Won League Cup 2x
- Now Celtic’s No1 where he’s won back to back League Titles and Scottish Cups.

One of the best nights I’ve ever had at Parkhead was against a team from Czech Republic called F.K Jablonec and we were going through an abysmal time for goalkeepers with Bain and Barkas. It was Joe’s European debut for us and he made a double save that made the crowd erupt, I was one of them. We were already cruising the game but that was a moment of yes we finally have someone at the back we can rely on! With Ange just starting out with us also as manager it was a. Wry exciting time for a Celtic fan 💚🍀I love Joe, great goalkeeper and an even better human being
