Evo guys and Subaru guys are so much different. Evo guys are all computer tech guys who love technology. Meanwhile Subaru guys are ex Jeep owners, diesel owners, etc usually rally/offroad enthusiasts. I fall more into the Subaru category. I know someone will tell me I am completely wrong though
Lol I just sold my lifted Jeep to get my Evo X. You sir are wrong. I am in no way a tech type of guy and I still prefer the Evo X. It takes to mods much better imo

I drive an STi but I don't rally. But I love tech/computer stuff. But my car is a canyon car. ripping around corners at 60 is the most fun for me. Plus I can't afford to fix rally damage. lol I'd honestly buy either but my options were build a motor or build a drivetrain. I picked motor. Either way They are both great cars and I'd honestly own both.
Evo guys be like "Oh just e85 and some bolt ons" but really they be running like 800hp....
David if you're serious about florida, I have a car for you to review and its a damn good one. Its about time you show a Camaro some love, 2012 ZL1 ~690-700hp:::: intake, dyno tune, long tube headers, dual valve springs, 1000hp carbon ceramic clutch, TOYO Proxes R888, full BMR suspension and a few smaller upgrades here and there.

I just want to point out really quick how awesome all the people who watch this channel are, I think out of all the communities from racing/car channels this one is the most supportive and accepting of each other. It has people who are hardcore domestic guys and then others who are hardcore import guys, but somehow I never see people hating on each others cars. Everyone just sort of appreciates cars and its straight up awesome. When I put up the rough specs of the Camaro I was really expecting to get some hate and people saying things like "Camaros are shit" or "You should've gotten a Mustang/'insert import' instead of that crap". Instead I get a fair amount of likes on the comment and some dude (You're awesome Johnny Bravo) going "SWEEEET". So to anyone that reads this who supports others in there car choices I say this, You are a true car guy and you give gear heads a good name. Let's keep this community the cleanest and coolest on youtube!

You also got to think about the guy that leads us. He is not biased, so he attracts non-biased people. Aside from people in this community liking almost every car, I think most people that are 30 or younger don't even know what a '85 Pontiac Feiro GT is, so my car hasn't gotten any hate yet. People don't recognition the name so they don't pay attention unless they see it in person, then people ask about it.
Really wish GM would bring the fiero back even though Pontiac is gone. You don't see them enough. Corvette is so far ahead of everything else now that they could easily bring the Fiero back in with a 2.5L LCV I4 with 197hp as the base engine then for performance engines they could use the 2.0L LTG turbo I4 with 259hp for a mid level engine and for the top engine either the 2.8L LAU turbo V6 with 300hp or the Camaro's 3.6L LFX V6 with 323hp. Main reason I mention the 2.8L was because the current GT engine is a 2.8L, but with 140hp, I would like the 300hp from the newer 2.8L turbo in mine, lol.
Finally got a chance to watch this and wow, I know everybody has said it already but it's crazy how much James sounds and looks like Paul Walker. I was just sitting here awestruck. Gah, now I wanna go watch Fast and Furious! Great vlog David!

David please pass this on to James, the Japanese that is being spoken to you when you start your car is the Japanese version of the E-ZPass. You will probably find a little black card reader that is in the glove box or by your knees under the console. What she is saying is that there is no pay card inserted, please insert card. Noticed it was RHD so I assumed you imported from Japan. Just a friendly Evo guru from Japan.

Ok, this is freaking me out a little. First off, I've been in love with the s15 for what feels like forever. It's been one of my dream cars. My other two dream cars are the evo and the 240. My name is James so hearing James has an evo I was thinking "lucky." Then he said he had a silvia. By that point my jaw dropped. Then he pulled out his 240 and I about fell to the floor. And drifting?? That man is living my dream!! You guys are so amazing! I don't know how you afford those amazing cars, let alone modify them to have so much horsepower, but keep it going!! :)
James, Your support means a lot. Since i was little, while others had dream cars of Lambo's or other supercars, my two dream cars were always the Evo 8 and the S15. I consider myself truly blessed to be able to have both. As for affording them, Its not easy. A lot of people think we are rich, or have people paying for our parts. Truth is, (for sean and myself), we do not have Sponsors. We pay for our parts (sometimes discounted due to hook ups), but we both serve in the military, and do whatever we can to make it work. We dont get paid GREAT by any means.. but we make sacrifices to be able to play with our cars. Life s too short to not have the most fun you can.

You're not going to believe this David, but i bought James' Gold 95' nissan 240 S14.5 Sr20 swap from him this past summer. I've been taking good care of it since then so if you see him let him know the car is getting plenty of love.

I'm sure this is everyone you go, but Tampa is notorious for car thieves, boosters and chop shops. Usually folks from the Orlando area drive up to steal cars for parts. Be careful dude. David your Stang is still worthy of praise buddy. That thang is "bout it."

The thing is that Evos are cheaper here plus we get all the evos from the evo 1 all the way to the evo 10 and we get better models like the fq400 and all the JDM models :)
i'd love to come over and hang around with you guys, since you all seem to be chilled out and stuff! but then again, theres no way to DRIVE a car from Germany to the US lol and I dont have the cash for a ticket to bring my car with me... love your VLOGs david! keep it up! and if you ever find yourself in germany or any of you guys, hit me up and we'll have a beer haha

I live in Chesapeake and I would love to get into the car scene like this. I think I even want to start coming out to the Cars and Coffee, but my inexperience scares me a bit just because it can seem intimidating but I gotta learn somehow.

I'm looking to buy a used Evo X, preferably around 2008 to keep the price and insurance rates at a minimum, but unfortunately there are no dealerships in my area (Cincinnati). You guys know how I can get one then, besides driving around hours away trying to find one?

We arent the typical "evos/imports are the best" group of guys. We love all cars and love anyone with the passion for them. I am a huge fan of all vettes, im a sucker for the WS6 and any foxbody camaro. There arent many cars we dislike... (Prius)

Hey Buddy, A mod list for Jasmine and Nessa are too long, and to be honest, its not about the set up we have. From building many different types of cars, i CAN tell you that you must first figure out what you want your END goal to be. You have to know what stock bottom end and each part you install can hold. First mods Jasmine received were Exhaust, intake, Intercooler, Short route Intercooler piping and a small battery. Tuned that, then started doing small things like, ignition system, ported my intake manifold and Throttle body, exhaust manifold and injectors. After that i built bottom end, and head and started going bigger and bigger turbos. Hope this helps. If you want to know more, a good place to start is google or the Forums online. a lot of knowledgeable people out there.

i am thinking about getting an Evo X and was wondering how the droning is. i know that it can be effected by what pipes you put in , but i would like to have an understanding across the board. The car seems fun and practical as a four wheel drive, but as it being an almost DD some comforts will need to be considered before making my purchase

Haha my first car was also a 89 Camry, manual trans, but it was a hand me down and it had less than 100K when I got it in 1996, and had 154K when I sold it in 2001.

Hey David, I know that those two are in the army and I want to thank them for their service, also I was wondering what kind of jobs these guys and your other car friends have to afford all this I want to eventually be heavily involved in the car scene and wanna know where to start job wise and location wise
Sean K is in the Army and i am in the Navy. Thank you for your support! it means more to us than you can realize. I wont speak for sean because its personal information, but i have deployed overseas to Iraq/Afghanistan/others multiple times. So Deployment money does help in these builds. What people dont understand is that we arent RICH. we just have a major passion in building cars and make sacrifices to be able to do what we love.

Obviously, a much better clutch is needed for these high horsepower applications but at what level does the trans need to be built/strengthened? I have an ‘08 that’s on E85 with the stock turbo but plan to max the stock block out with a bigger turbo at 500/400. Will the stock trans handle that? I know the stock gears suck so, getting the better final drive when I do get the trans done is in my plans because going through the traps in 5th gear has GOT to suck.....lol

Im from NoVa and was stationed in FL for about 5 years. I was pretty dissapointed with the car scene down there. Nothing not worthy, at least that ive seen in person. Lived in coca beach, about 45min east of Orlando.
