I once won a battle in Vandal Hearts that wasn't supposed to be won. You get attacked by four groups of enemies, one from each direction, and your objective is just to leave the area. But since there are many buildings I was able to fight the groups one by one and eventually killed them all including the villain (or first hand of the villain, don't remember), the very general that is part of the next cut scene where he curses that you just escaped his trap in the last moment ...
This repetition made me drop Dragon Dogma: Dark Arisen. The game itself is kinda nice, but there are three NPCs following you around at all times! They have quite a lot of voice acting in them, but halfway in the game I could accurately guess what they were going to say at any particular moment. Pretty soon it ruined the atmosphere.

I shall say that the cut-scene was really professional and awesome! I mean, not so many full-length films have such dynamic and juicy fight-scenes. And the orc looked and moved just as if he'd be made by Piter Jackson himself!

I always love the idle movement and combat stance movement you guys employ. And that camera swirl when the cutscene ends and combat starts was spot on.
The opposite: The PC effortlessly carves through thousands of foes during gameplay, but gets knocked down by a single dude of similar caliber in a cutscene.
This is how playing Witcher 1 feels. Even down to the “not spinning attack!” as your opponents stand there, unfazed, swiping at air that is somehow connected to your hitpoints…
witcher 1, you just click on the enemy and it auto attacks and then you click again when the cursor becomes a flame to do a combo. it's not like you can really screw it up, unless you use the wrong fighting style. at least that's the impression i got , i'm playing it now for the first time since i bought it 8 years ago. . .
@@Femaiden It's totally worth playing if you have a PC, but the gameplay is rough compared to 2 and 3. Still a great game though. I wish they would do a full remake of it in the style of TW3; remaster the graphics, overhaul the gameplay and UI, maybe rework a couple quests. It actually holds up pretty well, considering it was CDPR's first game ever and was made in a modified version of the KOTOR engine. But mods are a must for TW1, and Igni is insanely OP (they nerfed it in TW2, and nerfed it again for TW3).
Tbf I'd even say that's how the Witcher 3 feels; in lore you're a superhuman gifted with incredible strength and *speed* and trained from a young age to be a master swordsman - in game you telegraph every move like you're the French army at the start of WW2 while moving not that much faster than common bandits. If the enemies weren't equally bad at fighting it'd be downright impossible to play. Don't get me wrong, I know he's trained to fight monsters (hence the massive dramatic swings) but it would've been better both in gameplay and lore for him to have different animation sets between steel and silver swords - the former subtle, quick and fluid to quickly and safely dispatch human opponents, the latter the default OTT spins to help generate the power to punch through the thick hides/scales of monsters.
The first half: woh, someone's been practising!! Second half: thats me at darksouls 🤣 Seriously though, the first fight looked awesome!!! You guys just keep getting better and better! I love the quality! Keep farming that xp, its showing

Ben's actual fighting ability looks pretty badass. At least in cut scenes!(acting) He's very skilled in many things. He does very nice art too. He should do his own Fight demos, Jujitsu videos. He does practice.

Alternative expectations:
• Once the "fight" starts, it turns into one of those trash Candy Crush clone mobile games.
• It becomes a turn based turn based tactical game (possibly with sprites).
Oh I was definitely expecting turn-based combat, but I do appreciate them going for something else. You know, given the D&D turn-based stuff we've been getting
I was thinking the video would just get blocky and low-res like the PS1 days where the cutscene was all polished CGI pre-rendered video and then the gameplay was chonky.

I absolute love this episode! It's just so accurate and that camera pan out to third person, such a maneuver! 😁😍- I LOVED the loud footsteps of Bodger running to attack a tree and repeat his line "Look out hero, the orcs are attacking!"

I expected the smith to run past at the end and start his line: "Now that the orcs are dead, we can escor..." before the "GAME OVER" pops up and the game fades out.
