so not saying this isn't completely badass, but the way phraser is portraying it does make it a bit more wizardry than it probably really is i'd imagine every link main knows that optimal bomb jumps only work if 1) you havent up-B'd that stock yet and 2) you gotta hit the bomb on your head and the end of your up-B and then the boomerang / bomb thing is either labbed, or maybe he just randomly found it while edgeguarding one day and decided to put it in his kit I'm just so happy mid tiers are getting love. next year is going to be so sick
@@djspflytnt In Project M you can bounce bombs off boomerang all the time, so I wonder if some Link players saw that and just wondered if they could do it in melee consistently

Another bomb fact. You see how the bomb bounces toward aklo? Thats because when hit, the bomb will always bounce in the opposite direction link is facing when the pulled the bomb. If aklo were facing left when he pulled the bomb and that same interaction were to have happened by ledge. The bomb would have bounced to the right and not hit Kodorin

I think I had some cash and meekly said I'd play him next with my trash Link. I didn't, also didn't realize I could just pay to play the best players in the world. This isn't just Melee specific jank, this goes beyond and is just complete and utter mastery of the character's mechanics and you could very well pull it off in other Smash games, but no other game has a community so crazily dedicated to its game than Melee, especially enough to think about the clip for more than a couple minutes and investigate how crazy precise this is. Seriously if I saw some Young Link do these bomb shenanigans in Ultimate I'd just go "huh I guess he can do that" rather than "god damn he did this incredibly precise crazy maneuver that's only possible with very specific timing, positioning, and *also* strict planning to never let your move be stale when you need it"

Played a crew battle in Austin, Texas in 2006 against a Link who could do the Bomb Jump 90+% of the time. When we saw his crew warming up, he was just hitting it over and over in practice.
Wonderful editing, the explanations are nice and easy as well. All I would recommend is a different song being played in the background. One more relaxed and doesn’t sound so much like elevator music
