Some of my thoughts as an old ow1 t500 support: 13:17 - In regards to choke points and opening up the maps I feel like this references a lot of 2cp maps that were removed from overwatch. I think with one tank its really hard to make maps with strong choke points simply because there isn't an offtank to help cross, contest highgrounds, help your team, etc. Unfortunately I feel that 2cp was definitely a more strategic mode that we had in ow1 as compared to something like push or koth. The fact these maps were so difficult to maneuver made them fun and made them unique, you really had to learn overwatch in order to succeed on these maps and it felt rewarding. I don't know how much I agree with opening up maps because it definitely takes away from the strategy aspect of overwatch, but again with one tank it would be even worse to deal with especially for lower ranks. 30:13 - I am really happy to hear this as a support player, not being able to do it all is what makes a character fun and rewarding. Brig in ow1 did so much to the point where getting a ton of value on her just wasnt as rewarding as something like Lucio or Ana. Same thing with kiriko, being able to infinitely survive, duel anyone, be anywhere and have a cleanse/immortality was just boring, doing a good job on kiriko is less fulfilling as a person than Lucio. I think its a good thing they're planning on introducing more skillful characters rather than do -it-all supports. 42:42 - Alec mentioned that they want there to be consistent behavior across an entire role. I definitely find that questionable as it just decreases the complexity of duels. Instead of being able to play a certain way into X character during Y situation, sometimes it doesnt matter the situation and you might not be able to take a duel on someone simply because of the role passive. Heroes in overwatch all play differently to a degree but I think the degree at which they are different becomes less significant with role passives and in turn makes the game dumber/lowers the skill ceiling. I am however glad he mentions introducing things that are involved with a specific heroes KIT. During the latter half of ow1 booping a rein wasnt possible, yeah it was sort of annoying but I think its so much more interesting or interactive than global role passives. 44:55 - I do wonder if this patch fails in making the solo tank experience fun maybe Alec & the ow team could consider experimenting with 6v6 again? I just feel like the complaints that he and Spilo mentioned literally can be solved with having an offtank. I really want to see what they have in store for fixing the tank experience because I want to see if 5v5 can reach the same heights that 6v6 had. But so far it hasn't and the switch to 5v5, to me, feels like a really unfortunate mistake. These are just some of my immediate thoughts from what I heard, I'd love to see what other people think because as Spilo mentioned the dev->community feedback used to be nonexistant now we are getting actual interviews and communication which is amazing to see.
Timestamps 00:00 introduction and Alec's background 8:40 season 11 and new heroes 18:00 low skill ceiling supports and projectile dps 22:00 psychological factors of balance 27:00 wreckingball 30:00 approach to hero design 33:40 sources of feedback 35:50 aggressive and frequent patches 38:00 internal testing process 40:00 more balance philosophy 42:50 passives 45:10 solo tank issues 48:40 pickable passives 51:20 roadhog, orisa, mauga 53:00 bug fixes 53:40 space ranger and upcoming tank changes no 6v6 - probably because the higher ups don't want them talking about it. I get the sense that the devs who actually make and design the game would want to be transparent on the issue but are just not allowed to engage with it
i dont think so. 6v6 is of the table, maybe also related to engine problems wich would cost month to adress, i think a tanky DPS and DPSy Suppport in 5v5 would solve the problem more. So 1 Tank, 1 tanky DPS who has like 300-425HP, smaller hitbox (kindof inbetween DPS and Tank), 1 DPS, 1 supportive DPS (like zen, ana, argubly moira) and one Support (Mercy, Lucio, LW). We would need a new queue System for that but prefered queue would be an example for a possible sollution
@@maxmoch6044 ye I also think it's off the table, I was moreso speculating as to why they are unwilling to bring it up and even just say "6v6 isn't coming back"
@@dumass804 i think they dont want to get heat around that topic and just let it cool off. Imagin how many videos and tweets will come up now around that topic when saying 6v6 will never come back. Great interview Spilo. Your attentiveness to responses and ability to immediately process their significance is impressive. A very good quality for an interviewer. One, that many famous hosts lack.
We're in a continuous loop of saying that oh this next patch is going to make tank feel more fun for like the last 2 years, and we just forget every time that the problems are fundamental and not numbers based
Yep. They think if they just keep making tanks more and more overpowered, it'll solve the problem, even though the problem is that tanks lack depth. They have this idea that players want a "power fantasy", but that's not why people play competitive games at all.
6v6 talk being banned from all communication is one of the main reasons I can't take Alec and the dev team seriously. If at least they could just be upfront and tell us 6v6 is dead and will never come back, at least I could settle my expectations and leave this game. Very good questions on your end Spilo, and no personal hate to Alec either. He's doing his job to the best of his abilities. But truth be told, those abilities and radio silence on 6v6 just isn't cutting it anymore. It's been 2 years of asking for why the change to 5v5 happened. It's been 2 years of all-hands-on-deck work to try and fix 5v5, and we're in no better state than when OW2 launched. The fact that they won't even address the topic at this point feels insulting.
i quit this game months ago after they actively ignored 6v6 questions and told flats not to ask about it. it just feels so slimy like even if they dont want to go back to it, why won't they just acknowledge it being a thing???
they have literally said that verbatim in several previous dev interviews, people still kept asking, it got to the point where it just became annoying, so now it's a banned topic. nice gaslight trying to pretend it was never answered tho
@@Real_MisterSir they have tho. it's unfixable because way less than 33% of the playerbase want to play tank, leading to excessive queue times on dps and support. that is me paraphrasing the exact answer to that incessant question I have heard in several dev interviews. you just pretend it wasn't answered cause it wasn't the answer you wanted to hear.

@@theCometPM I’m referring to the fact that he said they forgot entirely about consoles during the testing and release of lifeweaver. Just forgot controllers existed. Shows how little they think about how the game works there.
The pickable passive has potential to be really really great. Certain passives may work well into kits of certain heroes. It may certainly give a bit more autonomy which would be great.
This was the perfect type of interview for you to host. You have a unique perspective and view on change within the OW creator community and thus did a nice job of balancing meaningful questions about philosophy and juicy questions about future releases. One thing I’m hearing between the responses is that it’s possible the core technical design of Overwatch does not have all the levers the devs would love it to have to make meaningful change. If I’m right in assuming that it, it completely reframes the role of passives as a mechanism to tweak balance in my mind
Okay then, here's my issue. Balls rework did not solve any of his issues. He still gets countered by 0 skill abilities, despite not having any counterplay, he still gets yeeted across the map despite knockback reduction apparently existing and he still relies heavily on his dps to dive, since his tickle damage is negligible, a mercy holding down a 0 skill button counters all his damage. What can we do to fix this and make ball not feel like a nightmare where both sides feel like they are forced to swap?
@@AximVidya thank you so much for hleping me understand why somebody would actually prefer 5v5. its because you are a worthless waste of life whos only way to feel you are providing literally anything of worth to the world is by abusing 5:1 counter watch. Suddenly everything makes perfect sense
This is what you latch onto in this interview? It's clear at this point PvE was scrapped before a lot of the current team were in place. What happened was bullshit, but let's blame the right people.
Until they simply talk about just the idea of 6v6 I’m somewhat apathetic to any dev interviews. Not because what they say isn’t important l, but because they simply refuse to talk about it, so much to the point that they completely cut off 6v6 questions. Why?
I think it might've been Flats who suggested that the reason they don't talk about it is for some really wierd legal reason... rather than because they refuse to. Like the legal team at Blizzard are just like: You cannot talk about this subject, and you just have to follow that because you work there. The only legal reason I could think of was that you can play Overwatch on a Nintendo Switch which does not have a lot of processing power and struggled to show 5v5 game play fluidly so has no hope of doing 6v6. And if Blizzard has signed some agreement with Nintendo that means they can't change the format based on that agreement. That's the most realistic logical thing I can think of anyway.
Nah people just also genuinely liked him by that I mean PLAYING him people usually collectively agree it wasn't great to face him but the actual gameplay a wide variety of people did in fact enjoy
how does he understand that tanks should have weaknesses but not understand that 5v5 makes that so miserable without another tank to help cover ur weaknesses like surely they know its doomed to fail right?
Well the point is they shouldn't have NO weakness and that's kinda what tank duos did X tank has X weakness so use Y tank to cover that weakness and then it becomes extremely difficult to take them down but then the same thing happened where if you combo X and Y support well now even they don't die It wasn't great tbh
@@sebastianrodriguez8992 it was great because they had half the amount of hp so when you are able to look for an opening they just explode.. and they actually died to ultimates if they misuse their cooldowns instead of just walking it off with their giant HP pool
@@S3nCh4n I mean I guess but I never like the aspect of a TANK the character who's whole deal is being a large tough opponent being so easy to burn down unless they have a partner to cover for em So in some cases I do actually like how tanks in ow2 feel since they seem like much bigger tougher adversaries instead of slightly tougher dps But I can understand some of the frustration of outliers but I do like the general feel of ow2 tanks and if they did move back to the two tank model I'd hope they could hold the feel of tanks at least
@@sebastianrodriguez8992 The same argument can be made for supports in ow2, every support (barring LW and Mercy who are terrible in high level play) can simultaneously deal out damage while being unkillable and keeping their team alive as well as eachother. The support roles numbers had to be buffed up so much because there's only one tank to kill now so they have to be able to be all rounders. The only role that's not all-rounders in ow2 is DPS, instead they have to be given a built in counter measure to the insane amount of healing in the game, that once again is due to the fact there's only one tank. And even with that being the case tanks in ow2 still evaporate if their supports look away for more than 2 seconds. It's not fun as a tank to be a meat shield, it's not fun as a DPS shooting an unkillable meat wall and with supports being nigh impossible to kill DPS can only realistically kill other DPS without having to fight tooth and nail. And supports are forced to heal bot depending on the tank (Mauga, hog, orisa) or become 2 more dps who can once again only kill dps consistently, and even then skilless tank abilities like mauga E, now ball E, and FOUR SECONDS OF DEFENSE MATRIX can deny kills with little effort. I genuinely don't understand people who want these super tanks in this game, it's an objective decrease in playmaking potential. The only real argument I can see for 5v5 is supports have more flexibility to be independent (in some situations: when they're not forced to pocket a face tank) but even then in ow1 with tanks like ball being payable without having to be broken and others like hog who had options of their playstyles (like flank hog because they aren't leaving their team without a tank) you could have a main healer and off healer for utility. One thing i will give 5v5 is its much more easy to keep track of what's happening with two less people and ults, but even still Im sure my fellow average rank players will get into a fight where there's 6+ ults going off at once and it's no different than ow1. I genuinely think 6v6 under this team would be so good, they're willing to take risks and try things. We need to reevaluate the entire game from the floor up and get back at what makes overwatch fun.
@@sebastianrodriguez8992 thats the lowest iq statement i've ever heard, bro u dont even remember what 6v6 was like at all. In 6v6 tanks died so easily because they weren't built like gods cuz they didnt have to be. Literally the majority of dps could easily win a duel with a tank that is literally impossible nowadays
Long time tank main, first time caller and I just wanted to chime in on the "how to make tank more fun" conversation: CC is super un-fun on tank, I hate that High risk high reward gameplay is always more fun. Tanks have to play for sustain/survival so much that carrying is legit boring AND you'll get flamed by the DPS who can't stay alive every time I say crank up their lethality, make shields and mitigation way more costly to use, and nerf healing across the board. Seriously the #1 problem with overwatch is healing creep. It reinforces bad behavior and undermines good skill expression in a lot of cases. Don't believe me, try being on rein and killing an ana that self nades and then gets mercy heals. And I know the replies will be "well that just creates opportunities for...." but that's not the point. Your entire skill expression can be invalidated without needing a high skill counter play. And sure I play in plat and below, I know that in masters and up the TTK is super low comparatively, but also those high level supports are ALREADY playing aggressively (every coach/streamer I watch talks about this) so nerfing healing would only encourage more people to play the better way. Then counter the healing nerf with more lethality and utility and you've got yourself a fkn banger.
It's a stupid ass question. Total non-starter. 6v6 isn't viable because of queue times. 5v5 is workable but difficult. There's no reason to try and argue with 6v6 stuff for the devs at the moment because they're all aware it's a stupid idea.

It’s scary how they have to mention how talented their devs every interview. It’s even scarier they still have to figure out the “framework” this game has to fit. How are we still doing this after 8 years? How are we still ignoring conversations going on in the community, how are we still struggling with balance, how are we still clueless about where the game is supposed to go? Why is cheating running rampant? Are we more focused on changing the game for the sake of changing it to make it their game? I’ve never seen a dev team being so clueless and slow. @@skyler7017 yeah, it just stinks. like in regular interviews with some people you can have not prepared unstructured questions that they just say well i cannot answer that and be done with it. the point i'm trying to make is that while this does bring SOME clarity to the developer/player relationship it still feels fake to me a little especially when there are so many questions that still feel unanswered because the game doesn't feel great right now and they're onlny focusing on small pieces of it
Personally, I feel like the OW2 Doomfist, Orisa, and Roadhog reworks really missed the mark. Tanks who can't protect their allies from incoming damage, who deal lots of burst damage, and have very frequent stuns plus overlapping CC in their kit, are simply not fun Tank designs to play both alongside and against. I hope Alec and team revisits Doomfist, Orisa, & Roadhog's designs and balance to be overall healthier for the game.
@@donovan4222 Both OW1 and OW2 Doomfist are unhealthy for the game. They either need to make Doomfist a DPS hero again, but address the CC and single-target burst damage pain points players had facing OW1 Doomfist, OR they need to make Tank Doomfist more like Mirrorwatch Doomfist so he can actually Tank for his team. Empowered Punch should be removed either way.
Solid interview but really upset in what he had to say about projectile DPS heroes as well as the comment on Hanzo (Lol nothing for Genji either) I don't understand why say something like "Okay Hanzo lost his identity, what do we do?" But the answer has been there for years, he is a sniper, let him one shot, come on now. Kind of hoping we move over to the 225 HP pool for majority of the heroes, would be the perfect middle ground for everything right now in terms of gameplay balance and flow.
Accept oneshots have no place in OW. The fact that you've been spoiled all these years doesn't mean it's right for the game. And don't tell me they're necessary because if they are they're patchwork

@kayddie4127 I agree, I'm still waiting for a patch which looks like it even attempts to address the severity of counterpicking. As for the Microsoft/esports stuff, I don't care too much. We're a closed habitat within those ecosystems. Unfortunately the only control we have upstream from our community is if we buy enough skins for them to weight our population better. TLDR: I don't think talking about microsoft, maybe the esport, within our community is affecting anything. It's like talking to fish about the sea levels rising.
@@jacobbaartz7710 they've had 2 years to fix the 5v5 gameplay issues with all hands on deck. I stopped playing Tank after 5v5 and now I'm concerned about the direction of the Support role. They've made it so healing feels borderline useless on many supports during an active fight. You basically have pray your Tank/DPS aren't constantly inting and use cover effectively. If you're casual or metal ranked, they're probably actively over extending and using cover AGAINST their own healers. OK, no problem. Let's try adding some damage into the mix. But wait-- supports aren't supposed to be scrappy! You can't do as much damage and the damage you output is less effective because a) you can't apply the DPS passive to burst through healing b) health pools have been increased and that makes getting eliminations on support take MUCH longer. You won't be carrying unless you're either sweating/lucky or several ranks in skill above your opponents. You heavily rely on your teammates to secure eliminations, but that coordination simply doesn't exist for most of the playerbase. Your pings? Ignored. Voice chat? No one participates anymore. Fortunately, you still have your cool downs. But those are long and kind of frustrating to wait for in a fast paced game. When they are used, many of them are overpowered and frustrating to play against. There's the projectile size increase, but I wouldn't say my "shots feel better to hit" given the circumstances. It feels like you always need to reload right as you're about to accomplish something. How many damn times do you have to hit enemy Mercy for a kill when she's using her sympathetic recovery passive + your DPS won't shoot her to apply the passive? Too many! I would play Mercy, but she's felt awful ever since her movement was trashed post Season 2. The new supports have been in a bad spot other than Kiriko. I hope Space Ranger is fun and not nerfed into ground soon after release. I understand heroes are sometimes over tuned on release need nerfs, but it's annoying to have every new hero dumpstered after being so hyped up to play them.
The word "Confronted" is doing a lot of heavy lifitng here. For a person who has so many thoughts towards overwatches design Spilo seems very quiet here.
about hanzo they have really "only said yeah hanzo sucks now we'll look at him sooner or later its been 3 seasons but its fine, but yeah widowmaker we like, ooooo we like widowmaker, they buy the widow skins her oneshot is just perfect." rip hanzo and genji, left in the dust
what he mentioned during this part about giving "squirrely" characters 225 hp would go a long way to helping hanzo. i assume he's referring to kiriko especially, maybe mercy and lucio and some of the more mobile dps cast as well. having a hanzo who can one-shot a kiriko becomes a better widowmaker in that specific instance, because he still benefits heavily from storm arrow against tanks as well as being able to take out a key hero on the enemy team with relative ease. whereas widow is ONLY her one-shot and is ineffective on certain maps
Genji is consistently one of the best dps heroes no clue why people crying over him. Hanzo needs to stay in the trash can as long as he remains an RNG angle spammer
The problem I'm guessing is gonna happen with pickable passives is that there's gonna be some clear winners. Like you're only gonna pick one passive for most of the heroes. Which I think defeats the purpose a bit. Let's say you had to pick between shorter healreg cooldown or more ammo on cassidy. More ammo is just gonna be straight up better there 90% of the time even without fan the hammer having more ammo is gonna increase uptime and remove some situations where you have to reload and they are on 30hp.

At this point I feel like it doesn't need to be bought up anyway. 6v6 only really gets spoken about through the lens of how tank feels to play, which is something they know needs addressing and are working on. Time will tell if they get it right, but the fact they aren't scared to experiment gives me some hope for improvement.

Personally I was not really a fan of 6v6 but I feel players desearve the right to an answer especially when the video is titled "I confronted the overwatch devs" Having the devs script the questions in their favor is not confrontation. I want them to answer dificult questions even outside of 6v6. Hard to answer ones like The cheater problem that is happening right now and how they are dealing with that. Also these are the same questions they get asked by just about everyone else. Appart from "The new addition to the next ballance of heroes and that question about the up and coming new hero" We assentially saw the same questions that flats emong and Kar Q and that one reddit q and a asked that devs had already answered.
I don’t understand why the devs won’t even talk about 6v6. Like… couldn’t they just say “No we won’t do it.” Or “We’re still thinking about it.” That’s all the community wants and to refuse to communicate about it at all is disrespectful.
What's there to talk about? Any discourse about the matter will only put more fuel on the fire, and if the devs give a hard "no" then it's not like the 6v6ers will accept that. There is literally not any point in acknowledging the argument right now.
@@Damocles450I’m a 6v6er, if they came out and answered a hard no, I wouldn’t keep arguing, I’d literally just quit the game lol. There is a point in communicating actually, because at that point anyone left arguing is just silly and should be dismissed.

alec dawson IS the problem with overwatch 2. he refuses to put 6v6 back. nothing will improve til then. there was a uniformity across all roles with 6v6, and this is the entire problem with the game. every problem stems from this fundamental flaw in ow2 design. and it's all spear-headed by Alec Dawson. But I want that. Nothing else.
6v6 will never come back unless you can magically increase the number of tanks that play the game. Even in peak 6v6, tank was by far the most unpopular role. This isn't even an OW problem specifically, in *any* game that has the Tank-DPS-Support trio, Tank is the most unpopular role. You cannot fix 6v6 queue times. 10-15 minute DPS queues in Gold, the most populous rank and most popular role by far, are unacceptable. Stop playing the game if you don't enjoy 5v5, literally nothing else will get the devs to listen if you feel that way.
These devs are a joke and 100% don’t deserve respect. They keep everyone in the dark about 6v6 and when the games tank population is falling off a cliff. Idgaf if you think it’s a “useless question” if these devs keep getting complacent and black listing this topic marvel rivals is going to kidnap a good chunk of the player base. Keep gaslighting yourself and thinking 5v5 is good but at the end of the day overwatch 1 was universally loved and overwatch 2 is universally hated outside of the weirdos that think this game is still good.
So is pickable passives going to be like champion talents from Paladins? First more health, bigher hitboxes, and reduced healing. OW2 slowly becoming paladins 2 😂
The devs should really do an unranked to GM, and see how it is to play their own game, then they'll understand why tanks like hog are so infuriating to play against.
Why would spilo ask about 6v6? He might as well ask about bringing back dps doom or lvl 3 torb turret. 6v6 is dead, the game is completely different, and they're not going to add it back. That being said I think if you bought ow1 you should be able to still play it even if it's just qp.

Heh, the sooner people accept that 6v6 isn't coming back and that the devs won't discuss it in interviews, the sooner they can move on and begin the healing process.
Eh, no one can just be honest. Ala like the late great Patrice o Neal . Just be like yo your game design and balance is shit. 5v5 is shit. Monetization is shit. The battle pass is shit. The mythic are shit. The amount of content coming out is shit. Scraping pve is shit, and knowing about it a year before and not saying anything is shit. Can you explain what are you people thinking. You got rid of ow1 for ow2 and yet ow2 had less features than ow1 was shit, and Why? Like wtf is up with that? Do that instead of walking on eggshells and pandering and pretending.
Look, I know you have to cozy up to secure interviews, but the way they walk around eggshells with communicating to these overwatch devs is not making anyone who feels frustrated with the game heard. The community gives a lot of these content creators a platform and when given the oppurtunity, they don't bring up the main points of frustration the community has with the game. Illari balance patch recently was a terrible move and I like playing her. But as someone who likes playing ana and zen, why migrate skill expression to the pylon? Why not get rid of the pylon or weaken that but put more emphasis on knowing when to heal or when to damage on illari? That is a more fun gameplay cycle. Ana is literally the most popular support to play for a large portion of the games history. I'm a support player I dont want support to be more easy to play, a support shouldn't be able to heal, peel, move away and damage, and tank (bap and brig have a lot of effective hp) All these immortality and invulnerability abilities are out of place in ow. Zen trans cant save you from a widow headshot but a bap immort can? Kiriko just takes a lot of skill expression away from ana, she literally counters sleep and nade. And now, I know those are problematic in a 5v5, its annoying for tank players to get naded or slept, but this literally wasn't a problem with two tanks as they can shield the ana off angle, dva matrix it, or zarya can bubble cleanse it, or a tank could dive her to take pressure off another tank. They harmed ow a lot by making it 5v5, in addition, idk who in their right mind wanted switch players to be put in with ps4 and Xbox players, but no one in the switch community, at least the content creators, streamers and higher elo players, wanted that, it literally killed the community on switch.
@@Savevade Not a lot of people, but the experience is so stupid and scuffed that it somehow created a pretty close knit community. I meet a lot of people there. Some of my thoughts as an old ow1 t500 support:
13:17 - In regards to choke points and opening up the maps I feel like this references a lot of 2cp maps that were removed from overwatch.
These are just some of my immediate thoughts from what I heard, I'd love to see what other people think because as Spilo mentioned the dev->community feedback used to be nonexistant now we are getting actual interviews and communication which is amazing to see.

i dont think so.

Long time tank main, first time caller and I just wanted to chime in on the "how to make tank more fun" conversation:
CC is super un-fun on tank, I hate that
High risk high reward gameplay is always more fun. Tanks have to play for sustain/survival so much that carrying is legit boring AND you'll get flamed by the DPS who can't stay alive every time
I say crank up their lethality, make shields and mitigation way more costly to use, and nerf healing across the board.
Are you told before these interviews not to mention 5v5? Why don't devs ever wanna talk about it??
They are told which questions they can and can not ask, I believe flats had a video about this.
It's a stupid ass question. Total non-starter. 6v6 isn't viable because of queue times. 5v5 is workable but difficult. There's no reason to try and argue with 6v6 stuff for the devs at the moment because they're all aware it's a stupid idea.

Doomfist rework was actually good
@@donovan4222 Both OW1 and OW2 Doomfist are unhealthy for the game.
How does Alec have a job? He may be one of the most inept devs in doing his actual job.
Solid interview but really upset in what he had to say about projectile DPS heroes as well as the comment on Hanzo (Lol nothing for Genji either)
I don't understand why say something like "Okay Hanzo lost his identity, what do we do?"
But the answer has been there for years, he is a sniper, let him one shot, come on now.

On a less derpy note. You can tell Spilo is a real person and not just your run of the mill streamer, very good interview technique - freeform within the framework. Well done.
For a person who has so many thoughts towards overwatches design Spilo seems very quiet here.

everyone else didn't like hanzo identity. This wasn't a mistake. It wasn't poor judgement" It was the lesser of two evils.
@@jacobbaartz7710 i like hanzo but i dont want to get 1 shotted from someone who accidently shot his arrow through a choke
Genji and Hanzo are both good now. Its just that Genji takes skill and Hanzo is boring cause hes storm arrow spam bot now and lost his identity
what he mentioned during this part about giving "squirrely" characters 225 hp would go a long way to helping hanzo. i assume he's referring to kiriko especially, maybe mercy and lucio and some of the more mobile dps cast as well. having a hanzo who can one-shot a kiriko becomes a better widowmaker in that specific instance, because he still benefits heavily from storm arrow against tanks as well as being able to take out a key hero on the enemy team with relative ease. whereas widow is ONLY her one-shot and is ineffective on certain maps

Sigh.. of course, they ignored the 6v6 topic. For anyone still holding out hope for 6v6, use that energy for a company that respects its players. OW2 and blizzard are a lost cause. Marvel Rivals beta is this month, try it out.

Just accept your failure and do a soft reboot of the game with 6v6 back and some changes to the gameplay that is beneficial for the game ... Adding a lot of role passives not gonna save the game it will just make it more brain dead
And also bring back the old hit boxes ... My aim doesn't have any difference from WANTEDow's
This is just not fair at all that every new player with low mechanical skill can hit a lot of shots ...then What's the point of putting effort to raise my skills if a noob player can aim as pro's do
honestly man widow is even more annoying now because bigger projectile size = lower barrier of entry. Hell, i have maybe an hour total on widowmaker and i still force the enemies to restructure their entire team just to stop me from getting value easily. I'm not some aim god, granted i played a lot of shooters during my life but still, i feel like i'm committing a crime by playing widow.
When it comes to new players, what ow2 needs isn't bigger projectile hitboxes, but rather an actual tutorial for how the game works. Running around as s76 just ain't cutting it. Maybe even some sort of video tutorials, what do i know.
Your aim is not the same as Wanteds. You're just flat out wrong. Pros STILL don't hit every shot dumbass.

It doesn't matter anymore I just deleted the game until they fix it

@@leonsqueezy8691 Good, if you aren't happy playing the game don't play it. The playerbase is better off without you anyway. Though, I'm sure you'll keep whining about overwatch everywhere you can.
These interviews are a complete waste if the devs are unwilling to answer real questions.
💢🐑
@AyoBodee Id rather them give an answer on why they avoid 6v6 than hide away from it.
Personally I was not really a fan of 6v6 but I feel players desearve the right to an answer especially when the video is titled "I confronted the overwatch devs"
Having the devs script the questions in their favor is not confrontation. I want them to answer dificult questions even outside of 6v6. Hard to answer ones like
The cheater problem that is happening right now and how they are dealing with that.
Also these are the same questions they get asked by just about everyone else. Appart from "The new addition to the next ballance of heroes and that question about the up and coming new hero" We assentially saw the same questions that flats emong and Kar Q and that one reddit q and a asked that devs had already answered.
wow spilo does have shirts
Other streamers doing interviews should take notes
I don’t understand why the devs won’t even talk about 6v6. Like… couldn’t they just say “No we won’t do it.” Or “We’re still thinking about it.”
That’s all the community wants and to refuse to communicate about it at all is disrespectful.
@@willmullins6209why haven’t you left yet? I’m curious. because they might bring it back?
@@Doomthepixarkida good chunk of people are just holding out hope lol
@@Doomthepixarkid tbf, the majority of people wanting 6v6 back will likely just leave if they said it was off the table. which would be a large amount of the player base. it would likely tank their sales and such. which is probably why they refuse to say anything.
some of them have realized this conundrum and have left already. its only a matter of time that more people will join 6v6 and those who were into 6v6 will have already stopped caring. which is worse because apathy is the death of a video game.
alec dawson IS the problem with overwatch 2. he refuses to put 6v6 back. nothing will improve til then. there was a uniformity across all roles with 6v6, and this is the entire problem with the game. every problem stems from this fundamental flaw in ow2 design. and it's all spear-headed by Alec Dawson. Please, sir, leave the team and let someone else fix your mess. We don't like your dev work anymore. Not. A. Fan. At. All.
I want 2016 / October 2020 Overwatch 1 back. I'll take either form.
You're also forgetting the change from 6v6 to 5v5 and passive regen 😂
Can't wait for the robotic horses
Yeah, next up is a pick/ban draft system instead of role lock.
So illari is busted on purpose? 15:24
I genuinely don't understand why a support character has an ult capable of killing the entire enemy team.
most heroes on release are like that
he was saying illari was busted on release on purpose. then they dialed her back
The devs should really do an unranked to GM, and see how it is to play their own game, then they'll understand why tanks like hog are so infuriating to play against.
I love how blizzard won’t allow any interview questions about 6v6! They must really love honest feedback !
6v6 is never coming back because queue times are unsolvable. No one wanted to play tank in 6v6 either.
@@lumenox8541 I don’t think anyone’s buying that, and if that was true why wouldn’t they say that instead of banning the question?
6v6 is a dead topic, quick queues and less visual clutter for spectators have such importance, why regress on those
Why would spilo ask about 6v6? He might as well ask about bringing back dps doom or lvl 3 torb turret.
6v6 is dead, the game is completely different, and they're not going to add it back. That being said I think if you bought ow1 you should be able to still play it even if it's just qp.
@@lukasg4807 “the game is completely different” It’s literally the same game as 2 years ago 🤣 you don’t have to want a 6v6 mode but to pretend like it’s too much work is just dishonest, it would be extremely easy to do a 6v6 game mode. Blizzard literally just did the same thing with WoW classic, and that was actually far more work.

so much wasted time letting him dodge the 6v6 bullet
unfortunately there is no "letting" here, even 1 question about 6v6 when they (most likely) asked him not to and spilo will immediately never have this sort of opportunity again
Tbf, even if they’re pulling a 1984 move, you still went to their house so you have to abide by their rules regardless of what you think of them. It’s called manners
@@RIP_ZYZZ1738 sure but it’s just extremely weird they are willing to talk about pretty much anything except 6v6, like why is it this big scary and controversial taboo topic? It should be something we can talk about just like anything else
It would have been a waste of time to discuss it. It's clear that 6v6 isn't coming back. We already know the reason is queue times for tanks
@@BossKiller-ri6po That’s not a good reason imo. Queue times for 90% of players weren’t even that bad in OW1. Plus I’d rather wait an extra minute for a good game than get a faster queue for a bad game. If tank was as fun as the other roles there probably wouldn’t be queue time issues either.

Heh, the sooner people accept that 6v6 isn't coming back and that the devs won't discuss it in interviews, the sooner they can move on and begin the healing process.
They don’t want you to ask about 6v6 because they know it was a better format.
that is most likely NOT the reason. 6v6 is too divisive, that's why it's being avoided.
@AyoBodee 6v6 ow was game of the year.
5v5 is the worst reviewed game on steam.
im too lazy to listen to the whole thing did they mention genji?
I'm a support player I dont want support to be more easy to play, a support shouldn't be able to heal, peel, move away and damage, and tank (bap and brig have a lot of effective hp)
All these immortality and invulnerability abilities are out of place in ow.
Right on dude. I wanna frame this comment and throw it at them I swear to god
