This is a wonderful video, as much for the tip with the vacuum cleaner. I wish I'd know that one a few years ago when I knocked a pot of seed beads over on my son's dining room table. My daughter-in-law & I stared wide eyed at each other listening to the cacophony of sound as more than a thousand seed beads cascaded down on the hardwood floor & scattered in all directions. We saved most but it took us ages on our hands & knees & there must be quite a few still there stuck in the grooves of the floor boards. They've moved house now and sadly those beads are lost forever. Back to the bracelet which is so delightful & I can't wait to get started. Thank you so much for sharing this.

I haven't finished the video yet, but I couldn't resist commenting while these thoughts are in my mind. Not only are you fabulous with bead work, teaching with clarity, but you are human... I always wonder if I am the only one who does these things and have to backtrack, create my own mess by trying the short cut, or the "could have been avoided" bead disaster. I used to have a hand held vacuum just to suck up my beads out of the carpet... those endless days and nights of popping beads out of the carpet to salvage as many as possible was taking a tole on my knees and back. I love you and thank you for all your tutorials and great sense of humor... I always feel at home with you. :)

Jill I really LOVE your teaching style! I have been making beaded jewelry for several years & selling my pieces as well as donating to charity. I love beadweaving and have made several pieces but I struggle with written directions. This video saved the day! You showed all the steps in the process slowly & in a manner easy to follow. I made my first festival of lights and loved it so much I immediately started another. Thanks!

There are so many designers on youtube that I would like to follow but their teaching style and wannabe hollywood antics just make it impossible for me to watch them. Love your style, down to earth, not yelling or doing crazy stuff just showing off your great designs and very well put together videos on how to make them. Thank you. I am working on my first festival of lights right now. I did not have all the correct size beads so I am improvising, but it is working out just fine.

Beautiful bracelet, Jill! I made it, using a two-needle technique, and went around the base a second time, to reinforce it (the railroad-track looking thingy). Then I went around and added the picots. So pretty, even before the bicones are added. I can see LOTS of possibilities for this little gem! Thank you for a great project. For the time invested, the economy of bead usage, and the simplicity of the technique, I'll have to say ... THIS bracelet gives you a lot of bang for your buck! Thanks again!
Update: ok, so I got a little ahead of myself, and [mistakenly] put the picots in EVERY seed bead, instead of every-other. Oy-veh! Well, it's gorgeous, so I'm going to leave that one like it is, and make the next one the proper way...and wear them together! So many possibilities, and how many beautiful designs have been created thru mistakes, huh? Such a versatile design. I'm loving this!!

Hi Jill. i'm a big follower of your work and I've learned so much with you. I've worked with superduos and miniduos and also with twin beads, and I have to say you're right with the regularity of the beads but the main difference is the twins are more rounded with a side rounded cut where duos have a more likely a side diamond cut. So I've discovered twins work fine when you work with them isolated but for projects joining same beads together superduos match one to the other like a puzzle so they're perfect for scalelike or braidedlike projects. Thank you

Hi Jill I just finished this bracelet. I've been beading for years an I gotta tell ya I usually like the large bracelets .But this one is my new favorite. I just made 1 in Indian red crystals an cranberry beads. Its to die for. Now I'm starting some more...Love them . Thanks for sharing. obtw if you get a duo that the hole isnt complete just stick the needle in it an tap with jewelry hammer, goes right thru. That way you dont have to take out an start over.

Hi Jill, just finished my first ever beading project (Festival of Lights), with the kit, & by watching your great video. In the kit I was sent 4 kinds of beads but in the video you only used
    3. I ran out of the gold seed beads before I was finished. After a close look at the photo I figured out what I should have done. I also had another good look at the video & noticed that you used a different bracelet to explain the clasped bracelet, one which did have the small blue seed beads in it. I redid the bracelet with all 4 sets of beads & it turned out beautifully. I going to make several more for Christmas gifts. Your video was so clear it has encouraged me to try some more of your patterns. Thank You!

I can't seem to upload a photo so I'll try to describe as best I can....Regarding the tension, one thing I have noticed is on the last phase of this bracelet when you bring in the 15/0s and the crystals (I also use 4mm pearls which look very nice) you make two go 'rounds, first the crystals and 15/0s to lift the picot up and then the 15/0s to attach the picots. It is important not to pull the first round too tightly. If you pull it too tightly the second round of 15 - 11 - 15 will buckle just a bit and side by side each of these groups between each crystal will not be balanced - one straight across from crystal-to-crystal and one curved. This could affect how the bracelet wants to lean. To avoid this I leave my tail extra long so that it can be one round in this process and then my ongoing thread makes one round and I don't tie either of them off until the end when I pull the tension evenly. Hope this makes sense. If not ask questions and I will try to answer. I have easily made a hundred+ of these bracelets and in the beginning parts of it were a process. That being said, it is a very easy project but I didn't loose interest because it can be made it look so different by changing the colors. I might add I have never done this bracelet with Twins - only Superduos. Those I have ordered from 3-4 different online companies. The 26 colors I got from Jill not so long ago had by far the least amount of beads with the second hole closed - if any at all. I'm convinced the other companies just fill the 8-10 grams and send it out. I wonder if the people who pack these for Jill actually LOOK at the beads when packing and tend to weed out the bad ones as best they can. Might not seem like a big thing, but I don't like paying for beads I can't use. I also calculate what I can make from each color and if I am only a few short of making a complete bracelet because of bad beads, I am not a happy camper. Having said that, I count out and inspect all the Superduos before I begin each bracelet. Saves redoing later!

So, it is almost 11:30pm, I have unsuccessfully finished my first FOL Bangle... it looks like fringe.I used Twins, Czech crystal, and Czech seed beads because I am too poor to buy better. It is still pretty, but I guess it isn't as easy as you make it look. So, as I laugh at myself, I will tear this apart and try again. Love the video and thank you for all that you share Jill.

Jill I love this bracelet / bangle. Your instructions are so clear. I made 3 before I could stop. I started a 4th and got finished with all but adding the top bead. I noticed how pretty the super duos were, they just had such pretty flashes of color , so I decided to make a small change. I added a 4mm on each side in colors that matched the colors in the super duos. it turned out as a flat bangle, but love it that way also. THANK YOU SO MUCH for this pattern and I hope you don't mind that I tweeted it a bbit.

Instead of taking off the twin that has a blocked hole. I use a bead reamer and it works great to get that hole unclogged. I've used it many times in projects when I forgot to check if both holes of the twin beads clear. You just have to be careful. Plus, instead of throwing thos clogged twin beads away use the bead reamer. No sense in wasting your twin beads.

Thanks, I'm going to try that. Unfortunately on another project I ended up throwing them out and I was quite frustrated.

I went to the bead store and discussed this problem with one of the owners. She tried this 3 times and found the tension has a lot to do with this bangle. I'm going to make this again and try to lighten up on the tension. Hey! At least, we'll have a lot of really good looking bangles.
