    Thank you so much for this start to bead weaving video and making a kit. What a wonderful idea. I would like to be able to buy 1 gram samples of all the different colors of seed beads or just the most popular colors. Have 5-10 colors at 1 gram each per kit by category like neutrals, blues, greens, pinks, etc. Photos rarely show the true color.

      Hi Tammy, there are thousands of Miyuki colours! If you need to match one with another and you aren't sure, you can email us or give us a call with the numbers you're trying to match, and we'll help you get it sorted.

    Allie, what a great idea. You are a fantastic teacher providing support and ideas, You do a great job of encouraging new students. Even though I have beaded for years, your videos are great refreshers, many times providing new "aha" moments of " I knew there was a better way of doing that." Thank you for sharing your talent.

    The correct beading mat makes an enormous difference when working with 11/0, 15/0 beads. They almost float on the surface and that thread Zapp is really handy for cutting Fireline or Wildfire lines.

Thanks, Allie, for sharing with us--and for those of us who have been beading for a bit, for providing us with all supplies we've needed to keep our fingers busy and out of trouble!!

    Thank you Allie. Love the video. I am fairly new to bead weaving and I learning now to from your videos. I started off with the subscription boxes and started to learn from them then went into your video list and picked some easy projects that would be good for a beginner. Out of all the videos out their and even the ones from Potomac your videos are the easiest for a newbie like me to follow. Thanks

      @@Potomacbeadco I believe I'm already in the group. I haven't posted anything in it yet but have been thinking of posting my very first bead embroidery piece to get feed back and pointers. I plan on tackling an 8m rivoli. I have a hard time bead weaving the smaller stones but I'm sure that is normal for new bead weavers.

    Hello im a beginner also even though i started off learning in 2009, i remember watching jewel school on the JTV channel. Really i have picked it up and layed it down over the years due to life hardship personel set backs but i too would like it if you can come out with different beginner kits like using some bead weaving tools techniques . Kumihimo , square it was very interesting to know about the history and the Kumihimo dics in collaboration with other companies guessed appearances with a little back ground on them to how they got started. Well i enjoy alli buckman

    When measuring the beads, will the hole of the bead be facing upwards of what?

    • @Potomacbeadco
      @Potomacbeadco  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you're measuring a round bead, it doesn't matter, but for other shapes, there can be a few ways to measure them with calipers. With seed beads, the Japanese brands are the best and most accurate, just stick to one brand at a time, unless the designer recommends otherwise.

      Try some of our easy patterns like right angle weave or herringbone stitch. Your techniques have probably gone rusty, so polish them up with a refresher journey. Just ask if you get stuck. 😃 Have you thought about joining our Facebook group for Beading and Jewellery Making, hosted by Potomac BeDs? Lots of friendly beaders there at all stages from raw beginner to advanced. 😃

    • @Potomacbeadco
      @Potomacbeadco  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Don, we’re in the process of creating new kits for beginners, that will have better options and can be used in conjunction with a 12 month course that’s also in the works. Our section on How to Bead will also get a revamp so it can be navigated more smoothly and take you in the direction of beading style you want to try next. These ideas are part of our goals for 2021. You can watch it on TH-cam and learn about our goals. If you have any suggestions or ideas that might contribute to this, leave a comment on that video. We welcome our customers’ input.
