    I love rabbit snails, I caught a flash sale deal where the store was selling Baby rabbit snails for very cheap and I got a bunch of them, "my question is how likely they are to be outcompeted by shrimp and other pest snails" (I have bladder snails that do a very good job with green and brown algae)

    Can a aquatararium with a juvenile Map turtle be too over-stimulating for a large rabbit snail? I just began the hobby (first water test this weekend), and all my nerite's and Mystery's are doing absolutely excellent, but my Rabbit! I'm growing concerned. Been almost a week. My rabbit has been very inactive, but for maybe one night (I think he moved). My tank has a heater that allows for a consistent 75 degs F, and of course, err, a juvenile Map Turtle. Water is packaged spring water. Visual description: partially opened shell with only a little foot exposed. I have yet to have him completely appear.

    i added water to the tank to fill it as filter was making noise and i think the temperature drop caused them to die. Then the shrimps started eating their bodies and I only have the shells left.

    @Aquqrium Genius ik heb nog een vraag, ik vind Rabbit snails echt mooi, maar heb ook 1 hele mooie java varen op een steen staan. Deze mag zeker niet doodgaan of achteruit gaan. Zou ik toch een tweetal rabbit snails durven toevoegen? Of gaat dit een effect hebben op mijn java varens? Alvast bedankt!

    Hello! I recently got a rabbit snail without doing my research (rookie mistake) and put them in a planted 3 gallon with a sponge filter. Do they need a bigger tank? I have a 10 gallon, but it has a betta that is known to pick on some of his tank mates. What's the best option?

    • @AquariumGenius
      @AquariumGenius  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey there Samantha! My girlfriend also has a betta together with malaysian trumpet snails they do well together. How large is the rabbit snail? If it's just a baby the 3 gallon is fine and the chance that the betta kills it is higher. If it's an older rabbit snail that's already a bit bigger, I think it's best to move it to the 10 gallon tank. Rabbit snails are pretty strong snails so I think they will be fine.

    @Aquarium Genius, since 2 weeks I have 3 rabbit snails in a tank with 2 panda cory, shrimp and endler guppy. In the beginning they moved around a lot. But now they are almost every time hiding in their shell. What is the reason for this? Are they sick?

    • @AquariumGenius

      Ha Sam, ik heb zelf ook endler guppen erbij. Ondanks dat ze bij jou naar de schelpen pikken denk ik niet dat ze echt schade kunnen doen. Ik zou vooral geen grotere vissen (maanvissen, gouramis, loaches of paradijsvissen) erbij doen. Die kunnen wel kwaad. Succes! -Bart

    Could you please tell me what your thoughts re on keeping rabbit snails with say...sparkling gourami? I have 4 min tanks, puffers so that’s a definite NO. Celestial Pearl Danios which would be fine but the CPDs ph and temperature is too low I feel to add the rabbit snails, I also have a Neon Green Kubotai tank with a few Ottos and some kuhli loaches but the temperature for the kubotai Rasbora is only 25 /27 at most and ph is too low for the rabbit snails. Out of the, all the closest possible match would be the Sparkling Gourami tank which is. 57 litre (really only 50 as the rest is filter area in the back) this tank is partly planted with aqua earth substrate and some super fine dust black gravel over top but it’s mixed a lil thru now so more a patchy mix of both. It also have a decent sized dragon stone cave I created that takes up centre to one side with a larger type spider wood going from underneath cave up and thru a top opening in rock. I know when rabbit snails are full size they can get pretty big and although the ones I’d be buying soon are very young n small I am taking into a point the fact in future I don’t want the, getting stuck in awkward places in tank and not being able to move then dying.
    Is there anyway I can private message you maybe via fb messenger to converse more about caring for my rabbits when they arrive. At $15 per very small juvenile snail I really want to make sure I give the, the best chance and don’t kill them. Thanks..Lisa ...

    Can they live with goldfish

    • @AquariumGenius
      @AquariumGenius  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a good question. I would not recommend it because chances are that the goldfish will eat the snails. Goldfish are known to sometimes eat snails so I wouldn't risk it.

    How do I stop my male dwarf gourami from attacking the female?

    • @AquariumGenius
      @AquariumGenius  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ohh that's complex. Sometimes it's just the fish that don't like each other, but there are a few things you can try and check. First make sure that they're actually a male and female, as two males usually fight. Next, you can try adding some more hiding spots so the female can hide. If all else fails you can give your male fish a time out by temporarily moving it to another tank. If that also does not work you maybe have to consider bringing the male back to your local fish store and bringing home another one to see if that's a better match. Good luck!
