I found a snail attached to the bottom of my front door. I pulled it off and threw it over the fence into next doors garden. A year later there's a knock on my front door, I opened it and looked down, there's the same snail again. He looked up at me and said: "What did you do that for ?"

You're welcome. I love snails, almost as much as fish! It was a difficult thing to watch and film. But, most people had no idea that this kind of brutality was happening. I have had many people tell me that after watching the video, they will never get Assassin snails for their tank. . . By the way, my mystery snail video is awful, I used some wild-caught snails and they were in poor condition. I hope to make re-make it soon. It will be epic !!! :-)

6 years and still getting views. I searched specifically as my tank is infested with tiny snails that hump all day long so I bought some assassins. This video was one of the grossest things I've seen since 2G 1C 😉😉 Great insight into how they do their work 👏🏽
Snail over-population problems are usually caused by too much food in the aquarium. Snails reproduce in proportion to their food supply. Reduce the food, eliminate the need for the snail-on-snail violence. :-)
I just put some of these in my tank. I do not overfeed so the bladder snail and ramshorn are attacking the plants. I have watched them do it with my own eyes. So, assassin nails, do your work!
@@Danceswithfishes snails usually don't attack healthy plants... You can easily build a trap with a little bottle , there are many tuto here , then you can froze them To kill them in a less painful way possible ...

I had a dead rasbora in my tank yesterday. I filmed my assassin finding it, then manoeuvring it so it could go in through it's mouth! I filmed it in time lapse and you could actually see the rasp, deep inside the fish. It was eaten from the inside out. Grotesque but fascinating. They are really quite amazing creatures
They really are amazing yet disturbing creatures! They don't have very strong mouthparts, so when they start feeding, they typically go for the softest spot that they can find. On a fish that's through the mouth or behind the gill cover. And this is the reason they can't attack and eat animals with hard shells like shrimp. Assassin snail on this video: Feast on the flesh of their enemies alive, eat ramshorn like a true predator Assassin snail on my aquarium: Walk through a ramshorn snail and only noticed it after the ramshorn ran away … hey, do you have any tips to un-dumb an assassin snail? Or is it something they need to learn by themselves…?
They eat anything containing protein, so maybe it has an easier food source. Also, they don't eat everyday, and you'll need more than one to make a difference. A sand substrate and warm water helps with reproduction and appetite.
Dude I have assassins and I knew they were savage, but this video is absolutely stunning. Thank you for the quality, it was sooooo interesting watching it's proboscis in action like that!
Thank you so much for watching the video. Some people regret having them after witnessing the brutality that ensures when they capture a meal. However, in all fairness to the assassin snails, our slaughter houses (pigs, chickens, cows, etc.) are probably far more savage and cruel than anything these snails do. People tend to see these snails as cruel and heartless, while forgetting about our own methods of bringing meat to the table. . . 😊

They eat anything containing protein, so maybe it has an easier food source. Also, they don't eat everyday, and you'll need more than one to make a difference. A sand substrate and warm water helps with reproduction and appetite.
Mama fish : "yes, my eggsie weggsie, when you hatch i hope you're gonna grow to be a good fishy :>"
Meanwhile, Assassin snails : "yum Ca-vey-ar!"

Thank you so much for watching the video. Some people regret having them after witnessing the brutality that ensures when they capture a meal. However, in all fairness to the assassin snails, our slaughter houses (pigs, chickens, cows, etc.) are probably far more savage and cruel than anything these snails do. People tend to see these snails as cruel and heartless, while forgetting about our own methods of bringing meat to the table. . . 😊
