I wouldn't say that a lot of us really speak german fluent. But we all had to choose a 3rd language in secondary school. So we all learn norwegian and english, plus a chosen language. German is the most common 3rd language. But most of us forget all of it as time goes by 🙈

Oslo Spektrum has a capacity of 7,000, in 2014 Ylvis also sold out spektrum for one of their first concerts!

DDR was formed as a cover band for the popular Norwegian band DDE, and is a play on the German abbreviation for East Germany (Deutsche Demokratische Republik/DDR), which we also use in Norway. Hence the "Stasi" uniforms. Incidentally, DDE is also a play on words, which in Norwegian dialect means "What it is" (Det det er).
You should definitely share this on your German channel. I think the Germans will like it, and if they approve (and are well acquainted with Ylvis) you can also share Jan Egeland, since they like rock.

Another cool norwegian tribute band is Rammsund, which sings Rammstein songs in norwegian. Their name is a mix of Rammstein and the small norwegian village Ramsund.

This performance was nothing but awesome!. Not all countries take it as an insult to have their language being used in a humoristic piece. More that is taken as an honour and they find it funny how others sees them. Noticed that Ylvis even had on uniforms that looked similar to old Nazi uniforms, and even that is accepted when used in humor. Im glad to see people can find humor in sensitive and tragic happenings in the past, it helps to heal the pain from it. Usa has a different view of the way Europeans use humor to heal hurts from the past. When Ylvis had a show and one part of the show they performed "9/11 on ice, where they skated on stage as it was a Disney show on ice. They had to take that performance off because of how americans reacted to it.

What does the Fox say definitely sounds better in German😅
I do hope the Germans does not find it offensive, Ylvis does a lot of exaggerated accents in Norwegian as well. And I would not say German is a language a lot of Norwegians know because of our history. I'm sure some know, a family member of mine knew it, but she also lived there for some years. The average is knowing English and Norwegian(I'm not too sure Swedish counts lol), and anything extra just depends more on the individual I think.

Not any more. But we have (had) many old people understanding a lot of German because of the war.
