It was the way Superman went about it, the brutal, cold-blooded manner in which he carried it out. Batman's got his own code, and he's all about justice and protecting innocents. And when Supes crossed that line, it shook Batman's core, hon. It showed him a side of the Man of Tomorrow he never expected.
Some people ask "Why did joker call superman easy mode?" but what they didn't realize was the moment superman killed the joker that was the joker's victory. In every Justice League movie I always hate how much they nerf Green Lantern. Hal Jordan has immeasurable willpower which is what fuels the ring, he should be much harder to take out. Plus you can’t just remove a Lanterns ring like a normal ring, not to mention IF you do they can easily summon it back.
That willpower can only go so far against powerful beings like Superman.

He not only made Superman go rogue. He caused the Justice League to splinter and in essence endure a civil war of sorts. He succeeded where Luthor and others failed. Joker, in effect, defeated the Justice League. And that's the joke on the Justice League - defeated by an unpowered madman, rather than someone like Luthor or Darkseid.
Joker knew superman was weak n "easy mode". Bruce gave Clark the benefit of the doubt that he'd stick to his heart but this time for once in a while bruce was wrong n joker knew it. He realized he couldn't break Batman because Batman already had his One Bad Day, and it's the reason he became Batman. So he would break him indirectly by breaking Superman instead.
There are some kinds of evil out there that you know is not worth it, Joker being the prime example.
One moment I love in Superior Spider-Man is when he has one villain on his knees with a gun pointed at his head and asks “how many more times will you go to prison just to escape and kill more innocent people” and asks the people if he should kill him, to which they say yes.
I understand Batman’s reason for not killing, though it makes me feel like he shouldn’t be Batman at all, but there comes a time when enough is enough at least for the other heroes
the fact that the joker laugh even when superman is coming in a pretty scary way makes this whole scene very intense. He know that he'll die, but he doesn't care because he knows that he will have his mark on the world : antagonazing someone by making him crazy in just one day.
If you think about it, the joker is the saddest and most disappointing villain ever, he was never able to beat batman, and when he thinks he did something genius, he dies by being punched through the chest without even a chance to fight back, even in terms of insanity that is a lame way to die and nothing to even be called an achievement before death. In the big picture of all the cosmic existence he didn’t nothing but to kill 2 humans and piss off a kriptonian from a reality where there is just a few left, not really an achievement, never gain any considerable power or reputation but to be a mad man. Just disposable trash from a decadent human society. If people admire him is because their reality is even sadder than that.
As someone who’s practically in love with Joker as a character, that last part is very true.
Joker got exactly what he wanted. Sure, in the grand scheme of things, it doesn't amount to much, but Joker proved exactly what he wanted to prove, that everyone, even the most righteous people, can be driven to insanity. He wasn't able to break Batman, but he was able to break another beacon of light and his death is all the proof he needed. The idea of Superman going off the deep end against Batman's wishes is enough for him to die satisfied. He died, but his will lives on in the lives of the people he's ruined, who will continue to spread pain and suffering even after he's gone. Every day someone chooses to give into their inner darkness is a day the Joker wins. People can ignore him, but Joker won in his own twisted way, exactly as he wanted.

In Batman eyes Superman supposed to be the best of the justice league, always standing up for whats right, none corruptible (truth & justice). So after all this Batman is forced into a role that he is not familiar with standing up for our right to choose . This is why in the animated series he had contingency plans for every Justice League member going rogue other than himself. Which was the Justice League. Superman was meant to be Batman checks & balance. This is why he is so shocked seeing Superman Kill, that tore Batman apart. Also in dream in the comics when Joker was unsuccessful in killing Louis he threatens Superman unborn kid & Batman kills the Joker. Batman rather do dirty work & keep Superman hands clean. What I remember most about this movie is that at first Wonder Woman was on Superman's side. But once she found out Clark killed the Joker's followers, she turned against him. As she should. This was a hard movie to watch.
And all that would not happen if Batman had already killed the Joker. I knew why I prefer the Punisher over Batman.
It's been repeatedly shown through alternate universes that a Batman willing to kill his enemies doesn't make Gotham any better off. More always come because Gotham is itself evil.
@@LordSiravant The Flash movie, featuring Keaton as Batman, has Gotham being one of the safest cites in the US in it's timeline. Weather or not it's the same Batman from the first two movies, we can at least assume that Batman had ZERO problems with killing.

Thr worst thing about "superheroes" is they think that killing is evil. When killing is probably the best thing for everyone. Its horrible to think otherwise. You can blame Gotham's justice system all you want but at the end of the day Batman had so many chances to put him down. And Everytime he didn't thousands more people die. Imagine how many people joker has killed, then remember the first time Batman just puts him in prison...
