I love this game and I’m not a fan of either team (ND fan). My favorite rivalry and it’s always best when it comes down to this one game to determine the title. I’ve watched every OSU-Michigan game on TV since I was a young boy enthralled with the 10-10 tie in 1973, which still remains my favorite game of all time. Everyone points to the 2006 game, but I like the ‘73 game better. The following year in ’74 was pretty good too. Michigan had some kicking woes in those days. In fact, all of the 70s games were great when Bo and Woody were going at it. I remember one year when Woody was so pissed at a play on the field that he punched the sideline TV camera man - while he was shooting Woody live. It was hilarious. You see Woody cursing as he charges towards the camera and suddenly we see the shot on TV go all sideways and towards the ground. No big whoop back in those days. The announcers pretty much ignored it and the TV directors went to a different shot. Nothing more was said about it. John Cooper brought some great talent to Ohio St. but he was a lousy game day coach. Always had the better team but couldn’t beat Michigan. He was a bit snake bit, too. One year, when he finally did beat Michigan, they carried him off the field. And accidentally dropped him. He seemed like a nice guy but me and my friends could help but laugh. I think one of the most underrated games of this rivalry was just a couple of years ago in 2016. That was a great game. It went into OT but shoulda let that one end in a tie, too. I hope they wear their traditional uniforms/helmets this season. Michigan always does but sometimes Ohio St. wears something different that doesn’t belong in this game.

Great insight. Michigan got robbed in '16. Barrett was stopped on that 4th down clear as day. Not a fan of either team, but I do think Harbaugh's run thus far is looked upon alot differently had they won that game and made the playoff that season.
2016 was a farce man. Michigan shoulda won that game. That was no where close to a first down

@@oscarevans3966 Yes, in this case it’s just for the East Division. But throughout history it’s been for the outright conference championship on most occasions. I miss those days. I think 14 teams in one conference is too many. And I don’t like the idea of two divisions, although it is necessary with so many teams in one conference. Conference championship games played after the regular season is over make for good theater, but I’m really not a fan of that either. But then, I’m old school. Times change and it is what it is, I get that. My web post titled “Vintage Rivalry Week” goes into how it used to be when conferences had few enough teams to play close to a full round robin schedule. I think it was better and fairer that way. @@anthonyanderson9303 Agree about Harbaugh. I think it’s ridiculous how some fans wanted to dump Harbaugh prior to his success this season. Like a dog chasing a bus-what are you gonna do if you catch it? Same thing with Harbaugh. OK, fire him. Who you gonna get to replace him? Have you seen Purdue’s short list if Brohm leaves? Sheesh, buncha rejects. I suppose Michigan could bring Brady Hoke back.
