  • We needed a new picnic table so I built one. Another thing crossed off the honey do list.
    Materials:
    9 2x8's ( 2 were pressure treated )
    4 2x6's
    3 2x4's
    3 inch deck screws
    1 1/2 inch deck screws
    8 3/8" carriage bolts, 4 inches long, 4 3/8" nuts and 4 washers (all galvanized)
    Weather proof deck sealer
    water proof construction adhesive
    Blood, sweat and tears
    Tylenol
    I got the plans for this table from This Old House.

    Very nice! Thumbs up! Must be nice to have an electric saw and sander! I've known many people who have painted their picnic tables and used the indoors for a dinner table which is kind of cool. Have a great week! :-)

    Nice design and man you have a gorgious lawn !! I wouldve used longer screws or glue as well on those diagonals. Picnic tables are prone to rack.

      Others have made the same suggestion. I'll keep that in mind if I make another, however the table is holding up very well, it just turned 3 years and we use it a lot! Thanks for watching! And thanks for complimenting my lawn!

    • @Yourtrashmytreasure
      @Yourtrashmytreasure  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The table top is made with 5 boards 8 feet long 8 inches wide. The benches are made with 4 boards (2 for each side) they are 8 feet long 6 inches wide. The cross braces are 5 feet 7 inches long and 8 inches wide. The legs are 2 feet 6 inches long and 8 inches wide.

  • @themistermax
    @themistermax 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    A couple of comments:
    1. Those are not carriage bolts.
    2. Those angled deck screws holding the bracing to the bottom of the table, partly exposed, seems a weak point; wouldn't it be better to drive them straight down?
    3. Some measurements would be useful?
    4. The music... ugh.
    On the positive side, nice video generally. Helpful, thank you.
