In celebration of the show’s 10th anniversary on Broadway, Jenni Barber and Christine Dwyer performed the Glinda/Elphaba duet “For Good” at the 2014 Tony Awards.

This song holds a special place in my heart we sang this my senior year in high school at my graduation as it being the final time I would be singing with high school choir it will always hold that special place in my heart even though it makes me want to cry
I thought of this song when one of my favorite coworkers left in August of last year. This song perfectly expresses how I feel about her, and I got very emotional when she left. I know I am going to get emotional during this song when I see part two later this year.
I love Christmas Dwyer, she was my Elphaba when she was with the touring cast of Wicked & Jenna De Waal was Galinda. Both of them were so amazing & nice they stayed to talk forever. I think Jenna & Christine are the closest to Kristen & Idina, but I'd love to hear see Jenna & Christine sing frozen.

I don't think I have seen a musical made into a film I have loved so much since Chicago. I saw it twice onstage and now twice at the movie theater now. The whole cast and crew did an amazing job and hope they sweep the Oscars. It's such a magical experience. So many easter eggs and nods to the original book, Wizard of Oz movie and the stage musical. If people were crying a little at the end of Part 1, they will be bawling by the time this song finishes. I took my mom, sister, and niece yesterday, and by the time my mom was hearing Defying Gravity, my little sister was hugging my mom and my mom was tightly holding my hand, as my mom was the mom of 3 daughters. 💚💗💚💗💚💗
Everyone coming here after Wicked Part 1 saying this is probably going to make them cry... you are absolutely correct. This song is going to wreck people one showing at a time, then every time after that. Although this seems to be at 1.5X speed and a bit of the feeling is lost for it.

Same story here. One of our sopranos passed away 2 years later from cancer and requested that we all perform for her funeral. It was beautiful.

the only other movie musical i felt was as good was Hairspray. I've watched that musical so many times.
