I've installed that same custom trigger kit in my daisy 901. It effectively lightens trigger pull from about 5 to 2 lbs. Translates into greatly improved accuracy at 20 yards

Nice video, I’ve thought about tinkering with mine to check the barrel support. Heard you can shim it in the shroud but the gun is working pretty good so gonna hold off on it for now. The triggers are a bit heavy but serviceable.

Yea, I can understand that, I was reluctant to take mine apart, it was working just fine other than losing just a fps over the last couple years.

If you want barrel support on the inside of the shroud, you can use the factory plastic barrel stabilizer out of a model 1977XS. It mounts in the pre-drilled hole on top of the frame of the 880. For some reason the 880 already has this hole, but no stabilizer included there, while the 1977XS has the stabilizer in place already. I checked Daisy's parts order form for the 1977XS and the stabilizer part is not on the form, but you might be able to call Daisy and request that part. It fits perfectly because it's designed for the gun. Stops the barrel vibration when fired and helps accuracy at longer distances. Some say it would be better if the 880 just had a solid steel barrel and no skinny barrel with shroud, but after some research discovered this was by design; the shroud acts as an empty area for the air that's directed away from the exiting pellet by the air stripper which is the small gap between the crown of the barrel and the front sight/muzzle piece. You can see it with a flashlight. When the pellet exits the crown of the barrel, the high pressure air behind the pellet is directed into that small gap and into the shroud area, instead of racing around the pellet which can cause instability. This may be part of the reason the 880's are so accurate for a cheap rifle. I wish Daisy included explanations of this design concept in the owner's manual but they do not. I really had to do some digging to find this information.

@@ADAM-qr7bi It’s in Part 2; he had some good information on how the trigger grouping works, and what that flat clip spring was for. I didn’t get that far in this video. I also put an index to a JL video on disassembly of the 880. I will take one of my indexes out and add his to this one. (Limited to 5)

@@brianwilke592 pretty much everything u need to know about 880s on his site. also for anyone who decides to replace the valve o ring to get the trigger back in get the trigger aligned then push it forward then place the spring in. its easier then tryin to put the whole thing in at once.
took me about 4hrs because of the trigger and tryin to get the valve loosened. mine was crazy tight. had to use a small screwdriver and a vice.
concidering what an entire assem costs i'd just replace it instead of tearing it down to save my sanity😁👍

Sorry for the delay: I had to look it up in my purchase history on e-bay. I got it off of eBay. The seller's name on e-bay is ronno6 (3051). You can search for Daisy 880 Trigger Mod Kit, and it should come up. Since I just looked it up, I purchased a second one. It costs$19.99, but a little over $27 after shipping and taxes. I plan on using that kit on a future video on doing the same thing to my Winchester 1977, as my 1977 has a trigger pull of 7 pounds. Hope that helps.
