  • Apologies for the amateur production standards - this was shot on a DIY phone camera setup with an improvised tripod (haha).
    You can find the MSR7b on Amazon here: amzn.to/3ljS9f2
    I can be a bit rambly at times, as this video was completely unscripted. That being said, I hope this was at least marginally useful for anyone considering this fantastic set of headphones.
    Please feel free to leave questions, comments and feedback below. I'm very open to anything that you felt like could be improved in the future!

    I got these in the Amazon Prime day sales for 99. Amazing Pair. The most comfortable I've worn. Out of audio technica, I've used the m40x, the m50x, The solid bass ws1100is and the Original MSR7 and Currently use these and the dt1990 Pro and these are so good for long listening sessions. I can easily wear these for 12 hours straight with no pain and I'm super sensitive to headphone clamping force. Sound quality they are better that all headphones I've used and almost as good as the dt 1990s but for mixing obviously the Dt1990s win.

      Would you say that these are many time better than the m50x? I recently got the m50x and was disappointed to hear this.

      @aro7975 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@shayhan6227 I would say yes, and they are normally In a much higher price bracket than them, at around 250 euro, and its the same company. They are way more comfortable, come with a balanced cable and regular 3.5mm jack , and the balanced is for a dac, and havent used that cable yet,but still I think they are much better. At 99 euro when i got lucky, couldnt ask for better headphones at that price. The m50x has slightly fully but arguably muddier bass. The M50x are fine though and can be folded up and taken anywhere. THey are solid headphones too so dont be too annoyed with buying them

      @@shayhan6227 Right now they are 220 pounds, or 250 euro and for that price, stick with the m50x

    I was looking something to have in the office. Bought Sony ANC is good to keep things quiet but not the sound I would like to have. And the moment you said this are terrific for Rock and Metal I made my decision. Keep the good work!!!

      Thanks Oscar! Sony ANC are great for pop but not as good for faster music. Let me know how it goes. 😁

    Hey Winston, thank you for your videos. Would still recommande these MSR7b even for stage performance?

    • @winnytp
      @winnytp  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! No not really - they don't isolate a lot of noise and the sound signature isn't geared towards studio or stage performances.
      I would look at options like Beyerdynamic DT 770, Audio-Technica M50x, Rode studio monitors, Sennheiser HD 280 Pro, etc. Something designed for studio use.
      Hope that helps.

    Hii loved your review Im thinking of getting these, do these require an amp to drive them or would I be able to get the same sound quality through my pretty decent phone or laptop?

    • @winnytp
      @winnytp  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nope these don't need any amp at all. They're easier to drive than some earphones. Any laptop/phone can drive them no problem. :)

      @@winnytp will disagree a little, using an LG G7 they sound a little flat. Using them through a Fiio BTR5 gives it more body i guess. While using my 58x on the G7 to the BTR5 is a lot less difference. The 58X Jubilee are 150ohm and MSR7b about 30(?)

    I own and love the Shure SRH1540 headphones and use them with LQI balanced cables with Sony NW-WM1Z and Lotoo Paw Gold Touch. They are remarkable, but I am looking for a balanced option that is slightly more portable. I will check these out.

    I like the sound of these headphones and they are also super comfortable but found two issues: 1. On my huwawei android phone the sound wasn't loud enough and 2. There isn't a mic available. Are there workarounds to these problems?

    • @winnytp
      @winnytp  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You could try downloading a volume booster app. It really depends on your phone unfortunately.
      For the mic, you can buy cables from Audio-Technica which have a microphone. They use A2DC connectors. Just make sure they can fit the headphones (I'd email them).

    Definitely the best headphones in USD250-300 price category.. Sounds better than some headphones 2-3 times its price.. But design quality & durability still much to be desired..

    • @soulfulfool

  • @HeathHunter

    I disagree with "sub bass roll-off". These have not the typical bass enhancement of M50x but are flatter and go deeper. If you listen to a track with good sub bass these will sound more spectacular and more controlled than most of "bass kings".

    • @soulfulfool
      @soulfulfool 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      and what those bass kings represent? shit quality audio with bloated mids, kings are those who control midrange with perfection there true music is, sub bass and sparkle highs are the last touch very important but not kings

    Hi lad, great review and well presented. However, I've a question. On my previous ATH-M50x, they came with an Jack Adapter which was quite nice because I could directly plug it in my Digital Piano.
    Are these MSRb7 also delivered with a Jack adapter.. and if not, is there an option of using my ATH-M50x's Jack adapter on these ??
    Thanks in advance and greetings from France !!

    • @winnytp
      @winnytp  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for your kind words! No, the MSR7b doesn't come with any adapter in the box. You will have to buy one or use an old one, but the cable has a normal 3.5mm termination so most 3.5mm to 6.5mm adapters will work as normal.
      Have a great day and greetings from Australia!

    Je tombe sur ta vidéo 😃
    Pour les enceintes de ta petites chambre je ne peux que te conseiller une paire de Focal 😜
    Concernant ce casque, je pense le combiné avec un iFi Audio Zen Dac pour profiter de sa sortie symetrique 4.4.
