How cool is that??!!! I used to do stained glass and it is a lot of work. This is easier and has a great effect!! So pretty!! I have to give this a definite try... Thanks Dave!! 👍🤗🤗👍🤗😁😁💗💗💗💗
Love this technique thank you so much! I like glass paint but it comes in such small bottles and is sooo expensive. The mod podge ripple effect is such a smart idea too!
Impressive, work Dave and the simplicity of the selected design is for a much cleaner work that goes with a Spring cleaning theme., simple clean elegant. I am into creating fiber art at the moment and my studio is full of fiber works and of paintings. I will attempt this when I have more space. The Weather is getting nicer I can work outdoors. My niece is Ontario is 9 she will like this for sure. I will share this with my Sister to do crafts with her Grand Daughter.
Hi Karen, thank you so so much. I am so curious about your fiber works and paintings now. It sounds like you are having such a fun and creative time in your studio. I love when that happens. Have fun and take care.
awesome tutorial. also to cheer you up?? you are sooooo lucky to be able to see snow outside of your window. that alone will put a massive smile on my face. im from melbourne Australia and I would die to see it snowing outside my place
What a great diy! Love it! Looks easy enough to do. I especially like how you did the background. Looks rather frosty....sorry for the snow reference ❄LOL. I like that you brought us something new and different♥. BTW, you shake as well as you fluff HaHa😂😂
HAHAH....oh no, is shaking another obsession of mine??? And I didn't even know it??? HAHA. I knew about the fluffing, but now the shaking....HAHAH.....😊😊😊
Wow, what a great idea! So easy and economical. Kids would love to do this and feel so proud that they accomplished a great form of art! And just imagine how many picture options are available to choose from. You’re only limited by your own imagination. Thanks for sharing!
I watched a second time and enjoyed it so much. You really make it easy. I am from San Antonio, TX. It has been cooler here this Summer, than the rest of t6e country. Mostly in the 90's. Unreal ! So doing something fun and sooo pretty inside is wonderful. Glad I found you Bless you. ❤😊😊😊
Hi Dave love all your crafts you do. Going to try the stain glass. I am from Chapleau, Ontario, and yes we sure got a lot of snow like 15 inches. My husband loves it. Have a great day💕
Thank you. I love this method of using PVA. glues with a tiny bit of acrylic paint soooooo much cheaper than buying glass paint. I was dreading paying for 6 different colours of glass paint. Only just found your channel. Love it 🥰
I tried something like this awhile back, But after I did my tracing with the Elmer's glue, the glue spread as it dried and I'm wondering if it's because I put too thick of a bead. Anyways, looks great, thank u😊
Hey Dave! I've seen some rain boots door decorations and some umbrella door decorations online. I was hoping you would do one or one of each and put your own twist on them. What do you think?
That came out really nice. The colours came out perfect Could you use white glue for the background if you don’t have Mod Podge? Another well done affordable craft 🇨🇦❤️
I absolutely love this! I have 2 questions. Will this work with regular Elmers glue instead of clear? And I have a window that is not removable. Do you think I could paint on the window without the paint running down the glass? Thanks, Trish
Hi Trish, thank you so much. I have not used the white glue instead of the clear yet. I would do a "test" patch on a piece of paper or something similar to test it out. I'm not sure if the glue would be tinted white and change the colour. In my experience, laying the window pane flat is the best way to prevent the glue and paint from running down. Hope that helps.
Hi there, with acrylics paints they do not come off like a latex paint would, therefore I am not sure it would come off for you to stick somewhere else. If you wanted to move the design, I would maybe use a clear transfer plastic and then you could stick it on other objects. Hope that helps a bit. 😃
Hi there, I haven't tried a skinnier tip for this, so I'm not sure. You could always try using a piece of tape at the end and make a smaller funnel. That may work. Hope that helps a bit. 😊
Hi !! I like the idea The background looked like the background was dirty. I would like it clear better so I could put it up on my window. For a framed photo that would be great. A person could make 9ne larger & put it up on a window.
Hi there, I'm not sure if the pebo pen would work for this application. If you're wanting to use that, then I would do a little test first to make sure it works to your liking. Thank you 😊
How does this hold up? I saw another older post where they did the same thing and people in the comments were saying the glue paint mixture peeled off when dry. Also they said the glue with black for leading went flat. One man said he added chalking for showers, but never said how much or how to do that.
Hi Tess, so far, mine has held up. I have not had any issues with mine fading or peeling. The black glue did flatten a bit in the video you can see, but not where it was letting the other colours blend into it. I had good results with mine.
Hi there, the glue helps to adhere the paint to the glass and make it a little more transparent. You can decide not to use the glue if you wish and see how that turns out. I prefer to use glue for this method. Thanks. 😊
Hi there, I would say it would be a little bit of work to remove the paint. You may even need some sharp edged tool to take it off, depending on what type of paint you use. 😊
I tried something like this awhile back, But after I did my tracing with the Elmer's glue, the glue spread as it dried and I'm wondering if it's because I put too thick of a bead. Anyways, looks great, thank u😊
I love it. A new craft that is not difficult with a designer look. No end to the pictures a person could use. Thank you for sharing it.😂
Thank you! 😊
🎵Shake shake shake - shake your glue-ty!!🎶 This is beautiful Dave! A touch of class with you own stained glass!!! Love it!!
HAHAH.....okay, this has to be hands down my fave comment of yours to date. That "glue-ty". HAHA. Thanks Scottie. 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Oh that turned out Great Dave!! Perhaps another time you can test out a fine tip precision glue bottle for some more detailed work..
Thanks Bill!!! And yes, a finer tip would be perfect.
What a fantastic idea. Something I will enjoy and perhaps get my neighbours grandchildren to do a picture for their mum for Easter 🐣
Hi Sally, what a great idea. Have fun making yours. 😊😊😊

Oh, that is an awesome idea. Yes, we all could use some spring. It's still cold in Nova Scotia.
Hello Christine in NS....yes, I can imagine how cold it is out there. Stay warm!!! Thank you. 😊
Love this technique thank you so much! I like glass paint but it comes in such small bottles and is sooo expensive. The mod podge ripple effect is such a smart idea too!
Very nice. Can do this with the kids on rainy days!

Hey Dave! I've seen some rain boots door decorations and some umbrella door decorations online. I was hoping you would do one or one of each and put your own twist on them. What do you think?
Hi JoAnne, I have seen those as well and was thinking of adding them to my list "to make". Thanks so much. 😊😊😊
From Ontario as well😎
Hello my fellow Ontario crafter!!!! 😊😊😊
Thank you ❤
Love it
That came out really nice.
The colours came out perfect
Could you use white glue for the background if you don’t have Mod Podge?
Another well done affordable craft 🇨🇦❤️
Hi Sue, I haven't tried using white glue in lieu of Modpodge, but I would think it would work just the same. Thank you. 😊
I absolutely love this! I have 2 questions. Will this work with regular Elmers glue instead of clear? And I have a window that is not removable. Do you think I could paint on the window without the paint running down the glass? Thanks, Trish

@@patriciatyra9286 That's great. Yes, do let me know how it goes. Have fun.
Really interesting, just wondering if those mix colours can be removed from the glass and stick the design elsewhere. Thanks.

i like that....just let me know where those color are found?
Hi there, the colours are from the dollar store. You can get the acrylic paints in the Dollar Tree or any other crafting store.
David we use to use black India in and trace you images on then let it dry
Hi !! I like the idea
The background looked like the background was dirty. I would like it clear better so I could put it up on my window. For a framed photo that would be great. A person could make 9ne larger & put it up on a window.
can u use pebo pens to trace the outliners?
Hi there, I'm not sure if the pebo pen would work for this application. If you're wanting to use that, then I would do a little test first to make sure it works to your liking. Thank you 😊
Dave, will tempered glass work for doing the faux stain glass?
Ni Naomi, yes, tempered glass works as well for this style and method. Hope you enjoy your crafting.
Cool

What about painting the opposite site of the glass?
Hi there, you could paint both sides if you wish. I found the colour was good enough for my liking with just painting the one side. 😊😊😊
Looks great! But I don't see much contrast between the light and dark colors.
what happens if u dont add glue to either?
Hi there, the glue helps to adhere the paint to the glass and make it a little more transparent. You can decide not to use the glue if you wish and see how that turns out. I prefer to use glue for this method. Thanks. 😊
What part of Canada are you from
Hi Carol, I am located in Ontario, Canada. 😊😊😊
Is it easy to remove?
Hi there, I would say it would be a little bit of work to remove the paint. You may even need some sharp edged tool to take it off, depending on what type of paint you use. 😊
Why wouldn't you just paint the glass with the acrylic paint versus mixing it with the glue?
Hi Vickie, I used the combination to make the colours a little more transparent. That way the light would come through a little more 😊. Thank you
@@DavesWreaths ah, I never would have thought the glue would make the paint more transparent. Ty
