The driver was clearly a scammer. Those PUVs are not meant to be hired. Their usual routes are within the city proper to awang area. Be careful with pricing, some interpret one five as 1,500 instead of 150.

I am a British guy who lives in Cotabato City. I would understand one five to mean 1500₱ also, not 150₱. Agree also, these vans run legitimate routes between Super and Awang, and not for private hire.
Please be safe and don't get scammed by drivers. If you know someone who's Filipino you can trust, it's better to ask them about the prices for commuting.

That Driver is an opportunist to situation. He misunderstood the agreement. Going to Grand Mosque is not a private ride. He was thinking maybe that you're getting him as a Private Driver. He must only drive normally along with the route. Not according to Private hiring. That is why do not agree immediately if one does not understood clearly what you have said. Just decline courteously. Better not to ride than to be put into a bad situation.

the Driver and Mr Stefan they both misunderstood each other.. if we take A cab we usually pay 1k or 1,500 for a whole day.. maybe the driver thought Mr. Stefan will pay him 1,500.. I was there when that happened
