They look same like in Malaysia. In Malaysia also we have dodol. We also have rendang but bit different. Malay in Malaysia and Philipnes have kind of similarity
DODOL exactly the same as what we have in Java islands or lemang & Rendang in Sumatra, Nasi kuning or yellow rice all over island in Indonesia, opor ayam / yellow chicken curry.. its originated from old times generations.. and become festive food on HARI RAYA / IEDUL FITRI CELEBRATIONS I think most of Moslems ethnic in Filipina descendant from Bugis Sulawesi.. the kind of food & the way of cooking exactly the same..
It's so fascinating right? They may all look the same but the flavours are a bit different in some dishes as we incorporate local ingredients depending on the area.😊
Not all of them are Bugis, many of the ethnic group in the south are Suluk, Bajao, Maranao dan Maguindanao ethnic group. Many of the Suluk have relation with Sabah in Malaysia so their culture is very similar to the Muslim in Borneo Malaysia and also Sulawesi because the island are all interconnected because all these people are seafarers and they move around all the times.

The phrase "اللهم اجعلني في عيني صغيرا وفي أعين الناس كبيرا" is a supplication in Arabic that translates to: "O Allah, make me small in my own eyes and great in the eyes of people." This prayer reflects a desire for humility and self-awareness while seeking to be respected and esteemed by others. It emphasizes the importance of maintaining a humble view of oneself despite being recognized or honored by others.
Absolutely, the supplication "اللهم اجعلني في عيني صغيرا وفي أعين الناس كبيرا" encapsulates a profound spiritual sentiment in Arabic. Here's a breakdown of its meaning and significance: - **اللهم (Allahumma)**: O Allah, addressing Allah (God) in supplication. - **اجعلني (ij'alni)**: Make me, grant me. - **في عيني (fi 'ayni)**: In my own eyes, in my perspective. - **صغيرا (sagheeran)**: Small, insignificant. - **وفي أعين الناس (wa fi a'yun al-nas)**: And in the eyes of people. - **كبيرا (kabeeran)**: Great, significant. ### Translation and Interpretation: "O Allah, make me small in my own eyes and great in the eyes of people." ### Explanation: 1. **Humility Before Self**: The prayer begins with a plea to Allah to grant the supplicant humility and a modest self-perception. It acknowledges the importance of seeing oneself with humility, recognizing one's own limitations and insignificance in the grand scheme of things. 2. **Esteemed by Others**: Simultaneously, the supplication asks for Allah's grace to be perceived as great or significant by others. This doesn't imply seeking fame or attention for personal gain, but rather seeking respect and honor in the eyes of others through righteous actions and conduct. 3. **Balance of Humility and Esteem**: It highlights the balance between self-awareness and external perception. While humility before Allah is paramount, being respected or esteemed by others can reflect the positive impact of one's character and deeds. 4. **Spiritual Growth**: By praying in this manner, individuals aspire to cultivate inner humility and avoid arrogance, while also striving to positively influence and inspire others around them. Overall, this supplication underscores the importance of inner reflection, humility, and seeking righteousness, while recognizing the natural desire to be valued and respected by others in a constructive and honorable manner.

Nice one.. proudly muslim here happy ramadhan every one ❤
Maranao delicacy like PEYAPARAN na manok or carabao(any meat)is out of this world. Spicy and so delicious 😋
You are so lucky both of you @FoodieMommaPH bcozyou had tasted the maranao’s foods parang nakapunta narin kau ng Marawe 😂 kc noon we can only have the palapa if one of the realtives well come toManila at mag papadala ka ng sakurab, but now marami na palang nag bibinta ng sakurab pati dodol jan sa Quiapo. Insha Allah sa pag ue ko ng Pinas jan na ako mamimili ng Palapa at dodol sa Quiapo no need mag pagawa sa mga pinsa sa Marawe 😂
borneo also pronounce 'manok(ayam)' for chicken. I think most southeast asia people pronounce 'kerbau / Karabau' for water buffalo
In some Javanese dialects chicken is also "manok".
In some parts of Malaysia, the coconut is also called "nyiok" or " nyok" or "nyior" or "nyor". Especially in northern and eastern Malay Peninsula.
Very similar 😍
until what time po sila nagsasara? mga 4pm po ba may street food pa rin?
I'm christian and my house is near a mosque and I hear Muslims prayers everyday
Thank you for sharing the video about the muslim community in the Phillipines.
You're most welcome ❤️
Most interesting and most educational. I wish I were there tasting the food with you. Thank you for the visit. From Karachi, Pakistan.
Thank you!🙂
Do you know thai I was one of the few Security guards under LANTING Security and Watchman Agency, posted in that Edifice way back 1977. That part of Calle Elizondo , houses there were of Hispanic Architecture, like Vigan, Ilocos Sur.
The dishes you saw are common in Southern Philippines 🙂
Wow! This place so amazing. I will come visit your country. From Malaysia
Please do! Makasih ❤️
I am an Indonesian Muslim of southern Filipino Mindanao descent and I am proud to have southern Filipino Mindanao blood ❤
I'll be there next month and I will definitely visit this place.

❤those spicy food!!! I'm Filipino American Catholic, but so glad that our Muslim brothers and sisters are influencing their food as ours. When i was in the Philippines in the late 70s...Quiapo was basically no muslims and the mosque wasn't there. Now...living peacefully with them. I hope Israel and Palestine can learn from this
I am from Pakistan Married with a phillipina. I visited Philippines and its true the most good thing I saw about phillipino peoples that they have good heart and love for Islam and surely in coming days the Muslims population will be more and more in Philippines and all Muslims and non Muslims are living like a family with each other. Many many love for beautiful loving peoples
When I was here it was closed and nobody is around. What time these people open ? I guess I went here early around 11am
Sarap at nakaka aliw panuorin,,,😍
Thank you 🙏🏻
Looks yummy and clean 👍👍👍👍
I'm so delighted and happy to see all brothers and sisters in God Muslims around the world ❤❤❤❤❤❤ I'm found to get more information on ideas about Muslims in different countries around the world. Like Chinese. Russia. Pakistan. Philippines. Thailand.....thanks for sharing this lovely video. Just for understanding ❤❤❤❤❤ God is Allah الله أكبر....bless "you" amine".
Good work guys. Can I suggest you do a tour around Mindanao to feature Filipino Islamic Culture as I believe they do differ.
They look same like in Malaysia. In Malaysia also we have dodol. We also have rendang but bit different. Malay in Malaysia and Philipnes have kind of similarity
Yes! Sama nama dan makanan 😊 but different in taste 😊
DODOL exactly the same as what we have in Java islands or lemang & Rendang in Sumatra, Nasi kuning or yellow rice all over island in Indonesia, opor ayam / yellow chicken curry.. its originated from old times generations.. and become festive food on HARI RAYA / IEDUL FITRI CELEBRATIONS
I think most of Moslems ethnic in Filipina descendant from Bugis Sulawesi.. the kind of food & the way of cooking exactly the same..
@@wewenang5167 thanks for sharing 😊

We also use the word nyiok/nyior for coconut in Malaysia.
Sama 😍
Piaparan is similar to masak lemak in Malaysia 😉
Ya but Piaparan is a bit dry. Masak lemak dengan kuah banyak!😋
In the north of malaysia coconut also we call nyiur or nyok.
Amazing!
hello everyone, may i ask, quaipo is quite far from MAKATI?
Quite near

The phrase "اللهم اجعلني في عيني صغيرا وفي أعين الناس كبيرا" is a supplication in Arabic that translates to:
"O Allah, make me small in my own eyes and great in the eyes of people."
This prayer reflects a desire for humility and self-awareness while seeking to be respected and esteemed by others.
Here's a breakdown of its meaning and significance:
- **اللهم (Allahumma)**: O Allah, addressing Allah (God) in supplication.
### Translation and Interpretation:
"O Allah, make me small in my own eyes and great in the eyes of people."
### Explanation:
Overall, this supplication underscores the importance of inner reflection, humility, and seeking righteousness, while recognizing the natural desire to be valued and respected by others in a constructive and honorable manner.

many similarities to Malaysia cuisine:
phosan = cencaluk
dudul = dodol
niyog = nyor
toasted coconut = kerisik
yellow rice = nasi kuning
pastil = pulut inti
shredded chicken = serunding ayam
balulon = kuih ketayap
Thanks for sharing! Been wondering what the Filipino version of Cincalok is all this time lol so it's that Phosan 😅
we called also Kuning" the yellow rice "mashallah😊
