I thought the Shecter sound was more bright and well defined, while the Ibanez sounded a bit muddier and the blurtzing low E string in the clean tone was making me wince. I'd gladly pay more for the Schecter; I think the sound is that much better.

Current retail puts the Schecter at 2.5x the price of the Ibanez. So the Ibanez does well.
