I met Dave Schecter in the early 80s at my guitar teacher’s house. This was after he had sold his company. He was in the process of building a Strat for my teacher. I asked him if he had the time to build me a Tele. He said he would make me one for $1,000 cash. He produced a 3 - pickup Tele with a solid Koa body and a Pao Ferro neck. Forty years and a few dozen guitars later, that Tele is still the best guitar I have ever owned. Thank you Dave!
@@Gibberish434 Yes I did and rather than argue online with a stranger about the inaccuracy* of their statement on a complex subject I decided to simply reiterate that 1000 dollars for a guitar in the 80s wasn't at all a crazy amount. In fact 300 dollars for a new guitar back then would get you something barely playable by today's standard. A thousand dollars back then however would get you something basically spec'd out, like 2000 basically does today. 2000 was definitely not going to get you a special, one of a kind handmade back then. Playing a quality professional guitar and rig back then costed as much as a good car. 😄 * More like misunderstanding
I met Zakk at Hurricane Alley in Houston around 1995 , and he partied with about 8 of us sitting around his piano till almost 4 am . best concert I ever saw .

Zakk was a local guy here in Jersey ,the band he was in before ozzy, played all the local clubs and Bars back then ..used to see him at the music store ,Same one Dave Sabo worked at back before they got famous
My Cousin has a old Shecter he got starting high school as he was all state Jazz band and shit like that. When I say old I'm talking mid 1980's. when Shecter was hand making guitars 1 by 1. I have had the oppurtunity to play it a few times. Hands down the best playing, most comfortable guitar hands down.

Zakk is known in the music world. To meet him and seeing how cool he was is so heartwarming. Zakk is an influence in my guitar playing since I’ve started. Got to know about him after 3 years in my guitar journey. Thanks to him I’ve learnt the pinch harmonics technique. Those who said he plays excessively with those pinch harmonics, I would said it’s all in the right places.

I love Schecters. I once got a Deluxe for $200 and it was set up more perfectly than guitars that cost ten times as much and it had perfectly rounded off fret ends. Great company. And I dig that guitar you got, the neck thru. Nothing has the stability of a neck thru.
Zakk Wylde is the greatest he is been my childhood hero since I was probably ten or 11 and he has to have lived one of the most badass lives that could have ever been lived to be that youngin to play with Ozzy Osbourne that is just the ultimate

Seriously, Colin, if you ever read this then I want to thank you and Schecter from the bottom of my heart. I'm a left-handed player and Schecter does so much to give left-handed players options when we want something other than a Fender or Gibson. It was a lonely feeling as a kid to go into a local guitar shop and see only one or two left-handed guitars. In 2012 I bought my first Schecter, an Omen. Ten years later I bought a Keith Merrow MK III which plays like a dream and has become my main guitar. Schecter rocks!
I just purchased a Schecter C-7 FR-S Apocalypse 7 string a couple of weeks ago, and I am really happy with this guitar! When I was looking at it online, there was a sticker on the guitar that said "Setup to Play"... and I must say that I am impressed! I bought a new PRS guitar about a year ago, and was disappointed in the action when I received it. I had it setup at a place in West Palm Beach, which cost me $140... the PRS is very nice, but I don't need to bring the Schecter any where for a setup because it plays sweet right out of the box! Very, very impressed!

I was at the AirPort in São Paulo waiting for mu fligth after his concert and He was going to Rio de Janeiro as well, o was sleeping in the Square with the bls vest and all the stuff And zakk sit by my side woke me up gave me a hug and said thanks for being in the concert And told his tour manager talina to give me the vip pass for the rio concert. Labas, just a brother Lithuanian musician that also plays a Schecter. And, has also had the honor of meeting Mr Wylde. I saw Zakk play an acoustic show in Massachusetts on Cape Cod. He was part of several acts with Peter Wolfe headlining. I went for Zakk. Ended up chatting it up with his guitarist and we all went to Christine's another venue and he kinda took over the joint. This was back when he still had a few beers.

Even the low end Schecters are incredible guitars. They are so playable and ergonomic, and have great pickups across the line. Crazy good value on great instruments. You won't be disappointed.

Love the Schecter brand. I have 10 (and counting), mainly C-1 variations with different pickup configurations, and a couple V-1's. On the hunt for just the right Avenger, E-1, Solo-6, and PT models to add to the collection.
I started playing Schecter basses about a year ago, and I am now replacing my other brands with Schecters. Three down, three to go! These instruments are killer.
It's cool that they set up the guitars before they leave the factory. More companies should do that. It definitely gives me a ton more respect for Schecter that they go the extra mile.
Schecter just seem like a great company that is really there for the players in everything I've seen or heard from them. I love that everything goes through QC at head office too. I love my Hellraiser Solo-6 and am looking for at least another Schecter to add to the collection.
Got a lower end Schecter. One of the first Demon 6 guitars with Duncan Designed logo on the pickups. Great low end guitar. Super impressed for the money I paid and the tonal monster the guitar is even though it is form the Indonesian plant.
Very cool, I'm actually heading down to see John Le'Van in Nashville and he is going to get my Schecter CR-1 hooked up with some Floyd Rose work and work any other magic needed. John had nothing but good things to say about Schecter. I LOVE my schecter. I bought it from a friend for cheap here in Nashville a few years back but I LOVE it. Never plan on selling it. Got a lower end Schecter. One of the first Demon 6 guitars with Duncan Designed logo on the pickups. Great low end guitar. Super impressed for the money I paid and the tonal monster the guitar is even though it is form the Indonesian plant.
I love my Schectors. I have had a lower end and a higher end both played extremely well.
My kid just bought a reaper 6 fr with the sustainiac. It is one nice guitar! Out of the box it was set up exact and perfect. Great job schecter!

John had nothing but good things to say about Schecter. I LOVE my schecter. I bought it from a friend for cheap here in Nashville a few years back but I LOVE it. Never plan on selling it.
