I just realised how tired I sound 😂 I didn't sleep for nearly 3 days when i did the voice over. Disclaimer: There's not actually a "predator" its a shrimp. Also the fish have wood in the tank so the female can rest from the males trying to breed. A problem with buying these fish is they are mostly sold in pairs. ideally it would have been 4+ females. The aim for the video is to show a fish that is not well known and only lives for a short period and that's one of the reasons they are not popular. Thanks for Watching!
A few tips about using spray foam and my experience with it. I’ve found that silicon is a more expensive but overall more effective method of attaching crushed rock and other small bits to the foam. Originally cutting out the foam in the box was extremely smart and made it easy to carve to your liking. However if u were to use spray foam between the gap of the glass and the carved faom box, it would’ve tightly and securely stuck to the glass. Love your videos! There really inspiring and teach me a lot👍
@Tetra.ExoticsThank you! Yes for sure, if I was to recreate this or anyone else wants to. This is the best advice, use silicon instead of spray and I did think about foam down the sides but I had the vision of Sand filled sides and wasn't giving up 😂 but this is not the best method. I couldn't find much information before building this so I hope it helps Thanks for watching!
@@AwesomesMan nope. U can get expanding pond foam at ur local lowes. This is what I use to fill in the gaps between the tank. I use black aquarium silicon to attach sand/coco fiber. Make sure u cover the foam completely in silicon befor adding the sand/coco fiber. The firmly press the sand into the silicon so it does not wear or wash off easily.
You could do this exact aquarium with Triops. They have a similar life cycle: spawn, live for ~month, lay eggs that wait till it all dries up and then wait some more for upcoming water again
Wow 😲 this is gonna make me better. I can’t wait to work on my 55 gallon. I don’t know what I’m gonna do here but I’m good ideas. Keep up the good work. 👍
Hey hey! Just discovered your channel and loved this video. Using the cardboard was very smart, I took a different approach with my latest build and it was a nightmare!
Can you try Triops in a shallow Prehistoric paludarium with ferns and moss. Maybe small horsetails. Aquatic moss and hornwort would also fit the theme.
Dr.Plants only blew up because he made hyperstimulative content, its basically brainrot, he just targeted a younger audience and since most people on TH-cam are below 18, he did well. Most actually interesting content does not do as well. This content is already hyperstimulative but no where near to point Dr.Plants is at.
what a brilliant video! your stuff is so bloody entertaining due to a perfect mixture of "going into just enough depth about the tank keeping" and "keeping it a skilfully edited and, wonderfully captured lifespan esc film'. I love this shit so much, Well done and thank you G!
is there any chance that you know what spray adhesive you used? im not for sure if you said which one you used already but i couldn't find it. i really like and want to use this technique to cover up my expanding foam but and not for sure what brands are safe to use in aquariums.
I love killifish, I had some rocket killifish (unfortunately due to getting lost in shipping they were quite sickly and I lost my whole school after a few weeks of battling illness)
this video was great. In my opinion, it could have been a bit longer, and you could have gone into more detail, since I fear some people who don't know much about killifish might be confused, Still, I was very happy to see a new upload from you. keep up the great work
Thank you I agree with you, I tried with this one, the story actually was even harder than shown in the video lol the original story was actually back to front with N fuzeri killifish. It just didn't go to plan Thank you
What spray adhesive did you use? Ive only ever used that for flooring but that was toxic for sure. That seems like a great alternative to the messy silicone ones you see. Awesome video btw 👌
Im skeptical of how aquarium safe it truly would be. I feel like an aerosol like that could get into the water easily. But i guess there were no shown effects in the video
You really remind me of the red guy from please don't hug me im scared if you don't know that series you can go take a look it's really great and this is an amazing video
@yellow_bud I didn't know what it was but I've just watched it. I think I've seen characters from it before. looks good! massive views as well. Thanks for watching and glad you liked it
Depends on the species but in the wild its much less as its decided by the dry seasons and when the rain returns. Again depends on species in captivity but some can live more than a year for example N. Fuzeri is 1-5 months in the wild or 3-16 months in captivity
@@plantbox60 so if I was to spray it onto foam then apply coco fiber do you think it'll cure and look good? or too shiny or something like that? also thanks bro

@ghko9968 Its the 1st time I've done anything like this so I searched for Fish safe products like dymax spray adhesive. Pond spray foam and aquarium silicone
7:31 is that a bamboo shrimp? If so I dont think it will live long They need good flow They do sift through the sand for food But it will destroy their fans if done often and they wont be able to eat until their next molt

Do you mean like a silicon based spray adhesive to attack sand to?

or spraythe foam on a heavy ish mesh sheet and put the rocks on that
Silicon tastes good
It was the two little “bruhs” for me to instantly follow. Humor and fun aquascapes 🙂↕️

These are such a cool fish species! I've never heard of another type of fish who's eggs can survive on land and then hatch in water again!
Suprised this one didnt blow up yet one of the best ecosystem videos ive seen in a while

This was awesome! Fresh take on pretty much everything. Well done.

How did the fish suddenly appear? You put peat in, added water & small things came to life & then a fully grown fish came stage right?
Another amazing video! So underrated ❤

That is why you apply the spray foam directly on the glass or an anchored frame.
Genius

Very well done!! Impressive! However, are the chemicals (glue and spray) not toxic for the fishes?

Nice. You could likely make some money setting these up for people.
Really loved the video, just thought the voice was a bit too loud. But really enjoyed

what kind of spray adhesive was that and where did you get it? also love the fishes bro I got aquariums but not as cool as yours ofc.
Dymax scaping spray adhesive, you can get it on ebay, maybe amazon
@@plantbox60 so if I was to spray it onto foam then apply coco fiber do you think it'll cure and look good? or too shiny or something like that? also thanks bro
I would actually use an aquarium safe silicone instead to make it easier. Speak this over the foam and then apply the coco
Under 10 minutes too

You should do a bichir tank build
Superglue mate. Superglue. If you wanna make sure something stays where it belongs in an aquarium you use superglue.
Super glue would work! I think silicone is the best and cheapest option. If you do it the 1st time round 😂
